  • Amazing video mate. There are some truly excellent clips. I visited a while ago and can remember most of it and it just shows what is possible with 2' gauge.

    James

  • @gwninjasloth Thanks again James. It is a wonderful little 2 foot gauge line. I haven't visited myself for a couple of years. Hope to visit when they open their extension.

    Cheers,

    Jamie

  • great video mate 5stars

  • Thanks! :)

  • An excellent video Jamie, very well taken and a joy to watch. I wasn't aware that this railway existed to thanks for that...5* Bob

  • Thanks Bob, and i'm not suprised you have not heard of the GLR, it's in the middle of no-where, it's privately owned and does not run every weekend like most railways do!

But it's a good day out, and a brilliant little railway!

    Jamie

  • very good! I even spoted me! Glad to hear that you had a great time you should travel down to the glr more often!

  • I will, hoping to come down for the Vintage steam weekend!

And I might get a tour of the GLR!!!!!

  • Nice video - plenty of action. I've been a volunteer here since it opened and am breifly visible in one shot. (not saying where!) the designer and builder of No.9 is Dr.Alan White, seen on the left hand side of the loco, whilst his wife (Jean, of course) is sat in the tender. Dr.White is a brilliant engineer. Driving is John Uphill, also a superb engineer, responsible for the majority of work on GLR locos, including No. 6 'Mr G.' I trust you had a great day and will come and visit us again.

  • Thanks, and like you said Dr.Alan White must be a great engineer to build a brilliant loco, and I noticed "Jean" (The loco) has a Marine boiler, unusal for a steam loco, and yes I had a very good day, and I will come again, maybe at the vintage transport weekend, or what ever it is!!!!

  • Enjoyed the video of one of the lesser known jewels of Somerset immensely. Very pleased to see it so well attended on what appeared to be a very windy day. Thank you.

  • Thanks, it was it bit windy, but it was nice and sunny, and not raining, so can't comlain!

    Jamie
