I have just purchased this and I cannot conect to net...says DNS eror and no signa...yet it finds my wifi connection and signal is excelent...when I look into it it is set on static not DHCP...NEED HELP PLEASE....

no window ce cant have java or other progran like flash player and adobe reader but u can install window lite xp for it so u dont need to use the crappy window ce

windows xp lite doesn't even have any of the networking componants = no internet. I've tried it.

Where are you getting your information? Windows CE supports both Java and Macromedia/Adobe Flash all the way back to version 2.11. There's also a free version of Adobe Reader for Windows CE that works all the way back to CE 3.0. (There are other third-party PDF viewers for CE, at least one of which works all the way back to CE 2.0.)

Many (if not most) Windows Mobile applications will work in the core CE OS. You just need one or more DLL files from the Windows Mobile OS, and these DLLs can be found online separately.

Altought this will make Win CE load Win Mobile application,it won't make it load ARM applications.

99.9% of win mobile application are compiled to run on ARM cpu and this is a MIPS cpu,so it won't work as they are completely different and incompatible.

They switched to an ARM 926 CPU.

the reason document readers are included with it and nto the full versions has nothing to do with it not being Windows mobile spec. It is up to spec and licensed to be used with Windows CE, so it is absolutely "up to spec". The full versions are not coupled with it because they cost extra.

Good demo. About the only thing keeping me from ordering one today to replace my NEC MobilePro 880 is that the "office suite" are all document readers, without any editing capabilities (which, as I recall, is because it's not Windows Mobile spec). Does 3K include demo apps on the software CD that takes care of that?
