I played in a production of Heavens Gates/Hells Flames (as satan of course). There was a great scene where the Jesus character appeared from the tomb and had his foot on my back...as the gongs on this song played leading into the final chorus of He's Alive. It was an amazing production...and that was one of the most difficult scenes for me to play...I just wanted to get saved, but thought it might take away from the story..being satan and all :)

I grew up with my dad playing this guy constantly, and I'm proud to say seeing him was my first concert at the tender age of 8. Don's music is so inspired that even as a little girl I was able to fully understand the gospel. Thank you so much for posting this. It's hard to find just the song with no video. Hardcore old school Jesus Freak rocks! Nothing today can capture the intensity of this refrain.
