I don't necessarily disagree with the sentiment of this video, but it's a bad video because it's a pure appeal to emotion. Rather than showing what is done to animals, how, why, and explaining how this can be avoided, it uses rapidly changing disturbing images with no context. Are these recent practises or ancient history? What are they supposed to achieve? How am I supposed to know? I had switched off by about half way through: PETA failed to make their case to me.
who fucking cares if a rabbit loses his sight for some eye shadow? if that rabbit was out in the wild, he'd have been eaten by an eagle anyway. There is millions more where that came from. I'd rather a monkey develop bleeding head tumors than some random jerk off who i don't know.

New cosmetic products are about consumerism and sales - we have existing products why do we need to torture more animals for "new" products that are essentially the same item repackaged.

People should make a living by agreeing to do testing on themselves for the right price. Some people can use a few extra hundred bucks here and there. Test Humans, not animals. People can choose. Animals cannot.
@RoyalWaste Hairspray and cigarettes aren't saving human lives, if anything they kill humans from toxic fumes that we willingly inhale or that seep into the skin. If humans are so willing to smoke and kill themselves and cause pain to themselves, why don't they offer themselves up for testing. Humans and the tested animals don't have the same bodies, they react differently. The animals don't need lipstick in the wild, so why should they be tested for it.
I don't understand why we test on animals when we have prisons full of child molesters, rapists and murders, I think if you do any of those things then you lose your right to humanity. I mean the results we'd get from human testing would be worlds better then the one's we get from animal testing. @dracorider Yeah originally when they developed insulin in 1920s they had to use dogs to experiment on. Quite few of them died in the process of the research.
I don't think we should test things such as makeup and hairspray on them but testing for disease is different... put it this way if your mother was dieing from cancer at the young age of 40 would you feel the same??? if they found a cure through animal testing, would you want to use it?? or do you care THAT MUCH about animals that you are willing to let your mother die JUST BECAUSE the cure was found through animal testing?? think about it.

Science has evolved and it has been proven that animal testing is no longer needed and is often inaccurate. Unfortunately animal rights laws are often poorly enforced and there is nothing humane about animal testing. Hopefully it will come to an end though and PETA has saved lots of animals from labs. And it's not old footage, I've seen recent undercover footage on PETA's website.

It's not like I'm some animal murdering manic, but have you ever stopped and thought that testing could be benefiting animals? If scientists could better understand how animals work, they could design medicines and antidotes to their sicknesses, how to recreate their habitats, etc. Just like how they cut open people, it's all done to benefit, other (and more) people.

These are the reasons why I chose to get rid of all my animal tested makeup and start getting into an animal-testing free makeup regime, I'm still fairly new to this, I wasn't aware that it still existed. I am so glad I did! If I can LIVE without it, an animal shouldn't have to suffer for it. In this day and age, there are so many other ways to test where animals don't have to suffer. They're exaggerating when they say that animal testing produces knowledge that is not applicable to humans. Of course animals have different physiologies and genetics, but they also have commonalities. The degree to which the results are transferable depends on the case, but let's be realistic here.
That said, you don't NEED that argument to oppose animal testing. There are plenty of other methods (human testing?) considered immoral despite great potential for learning. Why isn't this?

Animal testing is WRONG. for all the people that think it's the smart thing to do, imagine your own pet strapped to an operating table, prodded at, cut open, blinded, poisoned and killed. Doesn't seem morally right, does it? We've made technological advances since the decade-old experiments were first thought of, why not use those?
Even if that were possible it wouldn't really be nicer, and it'd still be inaccurate. Obviously humans should test on cells and use actual scientific methods- because animal testing is absolutely not scientific.

I support Animal testing. To say we haven't gotten any result from them is definitely wrong. Here's a small list of diseases cured using animal testing.

Animal testing is WRONG. for all the people that think it's the smart thing to do, imagine your own pet strapped to an operating table, prodded at, cut open, blinded, poisoned and killed. Doesn't seem morally right, does it? We've made technological advances since the decade-old experiments were first thought of, why not use those?

Even if that were possible it wouldn't really be nicer, and it'd still be inaccurate. Obviously humans should test on cells and use actual scientific methods- because animal testing is absolutely not scientific.

I support Animal testing. To say we haven't gotten any result from them is definitely wrong. Here's a small list of diseases cured using animal testing.

This made me cry when I first saw it on a the DVD I got in the mail. Um, this is just wrong. And...what made me cry the most was the monkeys. The poor things. It's wrong to test on any animal. Why test on them in the first place? D:< It saddens me to a high level.

dude I don't know if you're thinking of another Holocaust, but it was A LOT more than 500,000. The holocaust and Animal testing have almost nothing to do with each other, except for that both are/were wrong. Maybe we couldn't do anything about what the Germans were doing to the prisoners, but WE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT WHAT'S BEING DONE TO THESE ANIMALS.
