Dani would be safer if she didn't have that winter coat on. In an accident, the bulk would compress and the straps could be too loose to hold her.
Also, she's five times safer facing backwards.

You are right! She should probably take the coat off and use a warm blanket. She also has Down syndrome so her neck muscles are even more loose than a typical child. Rear facing is safest. Thanks for your concern.
