  • im soon to be married with a Muslim man and i 2 will be converting. this vid is very helpful 2 me as iv never worn a hijab but i will b shortly. i like the fact that a hijab can be styled differently n "jaz" it up abit as im a person who likes t look pretty n different n unique. i also want t look proper and modest. il be looking at the rest of ur vids for different styles . THANK YOU

  • Mash'Allah sister welcome to the start of wearing a hijab. I'll try to convince a friend so she will let me do a wedding style hijab if you wish to wear it for then...only question is are you doing traditional white or ethnic?

  • u can be proper and modest without a hijab. If you like to look pretty you should learn to like who you are. U r young.

I have known many women personally that switched had chidren and their children were taken away. If you were born a mUslim into a mulsim culture it is OK but otherwise there have been many and I mean many unhappy females who switched. I wish you good luck

  • well im now wearing an hijab when ever i go out and i like it. about geting my kids took of me i reali dout it im a good mum n would never put myself or my children in any hostile situation. im very happy and loving been a muslim im proud of my iman.

  • Happiness is very important part of life. I wish you the best of luch. I unfortunately have met women who changed and wore the whole thing and their chidlren were taken to Syria or Saudi Arabia and their mom never saw their children again. They generally do not speak the language and become easy targets. The movie "Not without my children" is a true story to many. Does mom and dad accept

    it? good luck anyway

  • The Movie not without my child is a poor example of the situation being that it is a one sided story. The father's family (which I know personally) was not as they were portrayed in the movie. You can look him up on the net and read his story which is a sad tale.

  • How come you know him personally. Was he related to you?

  • My cousin is married into their family.

  • So what was their story? Just curious.

  • 1stly his family is a very moderate Muslim family. In 1984 when he and his wife went to Iran it was with the understanding that he was aiming to go & help his country (the Iran-Iraq war had been going during this time). Obviously one does not take a vacation in a war zone...so there goes her statement of a 2 week vacation. He is the most gentle man, he has dedicated his life to helping the victims of Iran-Iraq war and his wife was a coward who waited until his green card was expired to run away.

  • She left filed for divorce and he never even was able to come and have his day in court. Her book has served as proof for so many whom do not want to look and find the other side of the story to look down upon Iranians. The best thing you could do is look up the documentary about his life. Without my daughter, which he made only to tell his daughter the truth and in hopes of contacting her. To this date he hasn't seen her.

  • Where can I find it and is there an ENglish version?

  • It is all in English actually...since it was made by I believe a British individual. I haven't watched ever...so I don't know what it is said in it. I believe though you can get it from Amazon or it might be on youtube. The name is Without My Daughter a play on the movie title.

  • The movie is on Yout ube and has 6 series. Thanks I have watched them all. I still think that mix marriages make a good romance story and are bad for children. Muslims should only marry Muslims, Jew, jews etc. Mixed marriages bring only pain to their children.

  • That is a harsh thing to say...technically my husband and I are a mix marriage, I'm Shia Muslim he is Sunni Muslim and to top it off I'm Iranian and he is Somali...

I have cousins whose mother is Christian and their father Muslim and they live in Sweden but they are well rounded individuals. In fact their background gives them an added advantage for they have been able to experience more things in life than other individuals would.

  • Sincere and harshness may at times intertwined. i am not trying to offend. Sister is christian and married a muslim children have suffered immensely. He criticizes christianity and after sept 11 became extremely radical. Unfortunately his brothers are the same. I envy those who can but I have met more who have broken marriage. Wether sunni or shia fortunately you ar both Muslims. I wish the world happiness but I feel we need to know our limitations

  • my mum is ok with it and so are my mother and father inlaw my husband is pakistani and i would never let my children leave my sight as im very protective for my own personal reasons.

  • Mash'allah to you sister for have strong convictions

  • The hijab is not just a form of modesty and propriety but it is a sign of a Muslim woman's willingness to submit herself wholly and completely to Allah's will. A woman who wears the hijab because of people around her does not do it for a good reason. The best reason for wearing the hijab is for one's self and Allah.

  • is it nesssary to make hijab so complicated?

  • You don't have to, although as the Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) took care of his appearance so should we. There is nothing wrong with trying out a new style of hijab. I have to say though for everyday I don't do this kind of stuff. If I have a meeting, interview, or class that I'm presenting for I might do something slightly different to show that the occasion is not a casual one.

  • bedacht door de man, nooit de bedoeling van onze God!

  • wow mashallah beautiful

  • Mash'Allah,

thank you very much, this video has really helped me on how to wear a hijab the proper way since I started wearing the hijab 2 years ago!

  • Mash'Allah sister may you always be strong in your resolve and strong to wear your hijab.

  • I'm not a Muslim, but I liked your video, you look pretty in your hijab. One day I will give it a try :)

  • I'm glad you enjoyed my video and if you do try it there is a video on youtube called the hijab challenge which you might be interested in posting your experience on.

    thanks for your comment.

  • Really cool vid :) back in my day no one explained these to me jejejejeje so this is awsome Thanks sis!

  • Assalamu Alaikum, Mash'Allah, JazakAllah khair for the tips! I'm even going to try this!

  • Salaam walaikum sister great video, Mashallah! I would really like a video of Spanish hijab styles and those layered looks that Egyptian sisters wear. Keep up the good work!

  • Sure I'll do one of the Spanish styles...I'll also look into the Egyptian look I'm not that familiar with it but i'm sure after trying out a bit i'll be able to do it insh'allah.

  • salaam sister, if you have a program called windows movie maker (it's generally included with windows install) you can put your video in there then re-save it compressed. i do it with my videos because i shoot them at 480x640.

  • I just got my new laptop its taking a bit of getting used to I know I used to have that program on my computer. I'll have to check and see...I did use my web cam program and unless I do one minute clips file size is to big. Thanks for the tip.

    Jazak'Allah Khair

  • Masha'Allah wonderful! :))

  • @Lynnphotos84

    Pooooo....

  • SalaamAlaikum, MASHALLAH, JAZAKALLAH KHAIR.

  • Great job sis! It's a cool idea to use more than one hijab cap; I never thought of that! Jazak'Allahu Khair!

  • Its much easier than the double hijab layered one...my next video insh'allah.

  • Salam a laikum!

Mashallah sister that's a great fresh look. Hwever isn't it really light with 2/3 extra underscarves on? :) I'm thinking that it maybe tight for people who wear glasses too as it pushes the ear to the skull with the arm of the glasses in between..

  • The cotton underscarves are very light and thin...but I think I said it is more of a winter look. you can also try it with thin scarves. I'll try to do it with them as well and show.

  • I can understand that yes, I meant tight (sorry i've just seen that i put 'light' to start with lol -my mistake). As sometimes they are made quite small aswell i thought several of them would be tight on the head especially if they are worn for quite a long time :)

  • The Islamic Boutique ones are quite large but if you want you can actually by the under scarves that have the second stripe already in them. I think I forgot to mention this.
