Obviously chris dave had an extreme influence on spankys playin but thats just it. An INFLUENCE. He took the "bending time" concept from chris and made it his own thing. You cant be serious if you say they sound alike.

i agree with u that its no need for comp...But i think it's good for conversation as long as we're not b n disrespectful to either drummer..i think spanky has a very different style n he's sick wit it..but honestly as far as i c it,i think tony is at the top of the food chain. i think he's better,but that's just my opinion..another thing is when u r so good at something, i don't think ther's any 1 that can really out shine you at it,even if they're a lil better.mbk4l!

you can always get better, thats what wonderful about drums. you can get faster, cleaner, or try inventing something new. yet when your in a creative rutt, and you feel theres no more steps for you, time to bust the wall. try limb independence. limbs all doing diff rythms, while in the same time sig.

haha his rythm is toxic... it's not healthy to even think about playing like this. royster has overwhelming speed but Spank just has unbeleivable soul with the off beats and time signatures and what not. Spank is highly underated and him with Soundcheck is even crazier

imho, the backing track needs to be louder for his drum pieces to be musical.. those time signatures dont really sing without the backing there to make sense of it.
