I was raised as an JW, left 15 years ago, so I know something about them. I'm now an anti-dogmatic atheist and I still don't think JW gets even close to the top of the most harmful dogmas list as they don't take part in politics nor any kind of military, and they don't scare their children shitless with eternal torture in hell.

OMG!!! Today this Jehovah's witness tried to persist me into joining his cult. He was explaining how people are worshiping God the wrong way. He invited me to join his so called "kingdom" after giving me a pamphlet. I told him couldn't because I would be busy. He stated how can I not have enough time to worship God. He was putting down other religions and how the end of times are coming. A gut feeling told me something wasn't right. He gave me the creeps.
So, I did research on the Watchtower organization, and I found out that they are definitely not God's people. I don't know which, if any orgainzation had the truth about God (I doubt that any of them do), but I now know the Watchtower organization doesn't. My brother never gave me a chance to tell him to tell him all the reasons why I do not believe it, but eventually he may research it for himself. At first my mom seemed to think I turned evil, but she has listened to me a few times now.
I also had a bunch of old JW books, because our congregation wanted to get rid of them tomake more room (another congregation we shared the hall with had a library too, so we only needed one library). Not one person wanted the books, and the brothers said for us to take them or they would have to be thrown away that day (everyone had about a month before that to take them). I took every single one. When I read them, I found the false prophesies, that I had always been told never happened.
His oppinion was that I could not separate from my husband, who was physically abusing me; if I didn't leave the domestic violence shelter and return to him I would be disfellowshipped! He told me to tell no one of this conversation, or I could get them disfellowshipped for listening to me! I ewas shocked. I didn't tell the other sisters what happened (except for one sister, who already knew about the situation, and I didn't tell her everything, for her own sake).

My brother has been inactive for years, but he still believes in it. My sister got disfellowshipped many years before that, she doesn't believe in it anymore. my mom believes in it, even though she doesn't practice it. I live thousands of miles away from them, so I rarely get to associate with them.
most of my famil is jw. i was raised in it. i became pregnant by a non believer. i was not shunned by anyone. my mother on the other hand was shunned 3 times for fornication bc she didnt repent until she got older. even at that people still talked to her. jw are not a cult. tgey are normal people that sin like everyone else.
I think most of the JW, like me, are trying to prove our love for Jehovah. We believed that since we were taught many truths by the Watchtower society they were getting guidence from Jehovah, just as Enoch, Noah, or others who had Jehovah's guidence. We know the Governing Body are imperfect, just like the apostles and prophets made mistakes, we were not surprised when they did. But, I have recently found they have repeatedly told outright lies! Jehovah only reveals the truth, not lies.

I got a brother-n-law who feels sorry for me, a born again christian, because I'm not a jehovah witness. He's sick and could die soon. He thinks he got it made coz he's in that club. Wait till he finds out he stands in judgement all alone and God doesn't care what club he belongs to. Wait till he finds out that scripture was right when it said Ye Must Be Born Again Jn.3:7. @jamesandchante I was told some outright lies by a brother that had been at Bethel for over twenty years, and who had been recently sent from Bethel; he was made the presiding overseer. I told him that I knew he was wrong, I used scriptures, and refernces to Watchtower literature to prove my point. He got really nasty, and then he told me that if I didn't follow his suggestions (that were mere oppinions), I would be disfellowshipped or publicly reproved.

Okay, my girlfriend is a Jehovah witness and i am not. For some reason this is my second Jehovah witness gf but hey they are hard workers. I just want to say that i feel bad for all the children born into this religion because they do just brain wash you into thinkin and living in a certain way. ive tried to have debates about 'the truth" and its flaws and she just gets mad and doesnt want to talk because she has no real way of thinking for herself, i myself dont do religion

In any large group thats following a guide, you have "leading followers". Birds and planes that fly in v shapes prove the soundness of this procedure. We obey the Christ, who is obedient to His Father. But yes, we, like the original Christian congregation have a decision making group. I used to work with a Jehovah Witness and she did her best to "convert me" then finally I said politely that I was not interested. Well she didn't like that so when I was fixing to take another job within our company she tried to derail it by sending letters discouraging it (she was my supervisor). I was raised as an JW, left 15 years ago, so I know something about them. I'm now an anti-dogmatic atheist and I still don't think JW gets even close to the top of the most harmful dogmas list as they don't take part in politics nor any kind of military, and they don't scare their children shitless with eternal torture in hell.
I'd like to see mankind get rid of all dogmatism, but this one isn't among the first priorities. Worst are the ones which are pushing their crap in and through politics.

I am a non baptized JW...I gotta say that i don't really agree with the lack of individuallity..I think that it it too loose tbh...IF all the hospitals would switch to blood free medicines they would save money and an incredible ammount of lives....ALLSO you cant say that 9,000 ppl died because of the lack of blood transfusion..I bet that atleast 95 percent would die anyways...OR if all jws accepted blood transfusion i bet more then 9,000 would die...I dissagree TL:DR

OMG!!! Today this Jehovah's witness tried to persist me into joining his cult. He was explaining how people are worshiping God the wrong way. He invited me to join his so called "kingdom" after giving me a pamphlet. I told him couldn't because I would be busy. He stated how can I not have enough time to worship God. He was putting down other religions and how the end of times are coming. A gut feeling told me something wasn't right. He gave me the creeps.

So, I did research on the Watchtower organization, and I found out that they are definitely not God's people. I don't know which, if any orgainzation had the truth about God (I doubt that any of them do), but I now know the Watchtower organization doesn't. My brother never gave me a chance to tell him to tell him all the reasons why I do not believe it, but eventually he may research it for himself. At first my mom seemed to think I turned evil, but she has listened to me a few times now.

I also had a bunch of old JW books, because our congregation wanted to get rid of them tomake more room (another congregation we shared the hall with had a library too, so we only needed one library). Not one person wanted the books, and the brothers said for us to take them or they would have to be thrown away that day (everyone had about a month before that to take them). I took every single one. When I read them, I found the false prophesies, that I had always been told never happened.

His oppinion was that I could not separate from my husband, who was physically abusing me; if I didn't leave the domestic violence shelter and return to him I would be disfellowshipped! He told me to tell no one of this conversation, or I could get them disfellowshipped for listening to me! I ewas shocked. I didn't tell the other sisters what happened (except for one sister, who already knew about the situation, and I didn't tell her everything, for her own sake).

oops, sorry about the typos (I'm nursing a baby and typing at the same time. I was baptized when I was 14 years old. I am 32 years old now. My brother has been inactive for years, but he still believes in it. My sister got disfellowshipped many years before that, she doesn't believe in it anymore. my mom believes in it, even though she doesn't practice it. I live thousands of miles away from them, so I rarely get to associate with them.

most of my famil is jw. i was raised in it. i became pregnant by a non believer. i was not shunned by anyone. my mother on the other hand was shunned 3 times for fornication bc she didnt repent until she got older. even at that people still talked to her. jw are not a cult. tgey are normal people that sin like everyone else.

I think most of the JW, like me, are trying to prove our love for Jehovah. We believed that since we were taught many truths by the Watchtower society they were getting guidence from Jehovah, just as Enoch, Noah, or others who had Jehovah's guidence. We know the Governing Body are imperfect, just like the apostles and prophets made mistakes, we were not surprised when they did. But, I have recently found they have repeatedly told outright lies! Jehovah only reveals the truth, not lies.

Jesus taught his followers to go from house to house. He wants more people to become disciples. Jehovah's Witness are following Jesus our Lord. families are broken apart....my uncle's first family was torn apart when his wife became Jovi. I intervened when a friend of mine had been targeted by the Jovi's - she was lonely, depressed....it almost destroyed her relationship with her partner and she was close to leaving with their little boy. I intervened....got her mum involved, got her into counselling, would turn the Jovi's away from her door and now...they are still together and have just have had their second baby!! Terrible cult!!

I got a brother-n-law who feels sorry for me, a born again christian, because I'm not a jehovah witness. He's sick and could die soon. He thinks he got it made coz he's in that club. Wait till he finds out he stands in judgement all alone and God doesn't care what club he belongs to. Wait till he finds out that scripture was right when it said Ye Must Be Born Again Jn.3:7. @jamesandchante-I was born into "the truth" also. My JW family remains JW, but they live far from me. I've gotten my mother to listen a little, but she's to lazy to research anything. She's the type who's comfortable following the program. I'm so sorry about how you started investigating. I basically use logic to break the belief apart. BTW, I am no longer a Christian. @jamesandchante I was told some outright lies by a brother that had been at Bethel for over twenty years, and who had been recently sent from Bethel; he was made the presiding overseer. I told him that I knew he was wrong, I used scriptures, and refernces to Watchtower literature to prove my point. He got really nasty, and then he told me that if I didn't follow his suggestions (that were mere oppinions), I would be disfellowshipped or publicly reproved.

Okay, my girlfriend is a Jehovah witness and i am not. For some reason this is my second Jehovah witness gf but hey they are hard workers. I just want to say that i feel bad for all the children born into this religion because they do just brain wash you into thinkin and living in a certain way. ive tried to have debates about 'the truth" and its flaws and she just gets mad and doesnt want to talk because she has no real way of thinking for herself, i myself dont do religion

In any large group thats following a guide, you have "leading followers". Birds and planes that fly in v shapes prove the soundness of this procedure. We obey the Christ, who is obedient to His Father. But yes, we, like the original Christian congregation have a decision making group. I just went to your profile and I seen that you might be a minor. I will not make any further responses toward you. You have to choose for yourself what you want to believe. I just want to make sure that you do realize the 2nd question for JW baptism is a contract with the WTBTS.

I was raised a JW (3rd Generation). Only your parents should discuss with you any spiritual questions you might have. The internet can be dangerous for a young person. I have my reasons for wanting to leave the wtbts. You really need to becareful on the videos you are watching.

@jwm2806 - Yes, a real baptism is just that. A deal made with God. However, considering the JW does not baptize in the name of the Holy Spirit as the Bible directs, it is not a real baptism. - The Dub baptism is nothing but joining a social club.

Any scripture tha gives Jesus his divinity was simply removed or re-written that was not in the original Greek. Why are you JW so blind and decieved, why can't you see the lies and deception that Charles Taz Russel started and his followers milked all these years. Only 144000 get to go to heaven and the door was closed in 1935? are you serious the bible does not say this or anything even remotely!

Rev 7-4 And I heard the number of them that were sealed: there were sealed a hundred and fortyfour thousand of all the tribes of the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL. (Creation; 1927; p. 94)"which are claimed"meaning we did not came up with the reasoning.beside it's just a curiousity reasoning to where does GOD reside we all point in the heaven but exactly where?who wouldnt be curious to know,its not something we claim to know but also wonder
