  • Watch the Aus vs NZ test in Bellerive oval and you get an idea what pitches were like back when Bradman was batting.

  • The Don!!! 99.94 ... 95 avg in first class matches with over 100 centuries and a quadruple century.

  • Bradman scored 300 in a day, with 100 in each session...how's that for strike rate? If Tendulkar had an average at least in the low 80s (on covered pitches and flat tracks) then there'd be some room for discussion. Just take the compliment that Don called Tendulkar the best he'd seen. Don't mess with Australia's only deity, you guys have plenty of them.

  • He's alright, but he's no Ian Bell.

  • @DeathByRickenbacker AHAHA are you SERIOUS????

  • Comment removed

  • which 2 idiots disliked this?? jealous arent ya

  • @omonoia23 tendulkar and his mum lol

  • ya he is..!!

but if u compare the time den i think sachin is much better in scoring runs...!!

the most simple example u can take of sachin and dravid..!!

u can compare both of them by there class..dey both are brilliant but sachin is awesome..!!

  • @premdubey51 Bradman had a Test Strike Rate of about 50 which was about 5-10 runs more than the other great batsmen of his era. Tendulkar has a strike rate of about 54 which is about average for this era.

Bradman has more First Class Runs than Tendulkar.

To those who talk down Bradman's performances, I often wonder just what Bradman had to do in his era for him to be rated the greatest (apart from play for India).

Many of Bradman's records still stand 70 years later, will Tendulkar's?

  • @BlueKiaser Bradmans strike rate was in 60s not in 50s

  • @007dalal I stand corrected thank you.

  • THE GREATEST

  • Cricket stopped being a proper game when they started covering the pitch from the rain. On pitches exposed to the elements Tendulkar would no more have got all those runs than I would, but Bradman and all the other batsmen of that era would have made MORE on the perfect pitches of today, where any imperfections are punished.

  • @RabidRobo70 maybe the bowler were shit on those times and were made to look like a terrifying bowler only bcoz of uncovered pitches,so its evens out

  • Cricket was probably harder in those days as the wickets were uncovered. Facing Larwood on a green top or Hedley Verity on a sticky wicket took a lot of skill. I think the greats whether they be Bradman, Compton, Headley, or Gavasker would be fine in our era especially as I don't see any really great bowlers around at the moment with the exception of Dale Steyn.

  • @08DENMAN Datz very true...

  • whats so great about don bradman? he played in an era with such less cricket and such less competition! he would get his ass kicked if he played today! as for sachin, he has played through 3 generations and still proves that he is gold.

  • @carolinaindian i agree to u

  • ALL YOU PEOPLE....JUST SHUT UP AND ENJOY CRICKET AS IT IS......U CANT COMPARE DIFFERENT ERA'S......BUT JUST BY THE MAGNITUDE OF HIS BATTING AVERAGE SIR DON IS HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE ALL///INCLUDING SACHIN WHOM IS REGARD AS THE SECOND GREATEST PLAYER AFTER BRADMAN....THIS COMES FROM AN INDIAN

  • the don, sir are the baddest of motherfuckers in cricket.sachin, ricky, lara should have played on those green tops with leather smelling deliveries and without any protection.

  • Is the argument really about Tendulkar v Bradman, or is it about India v Australia? Can't we just enjoy both of them without tedious flame wars???

  • @kangaroomc A true fan will admire both. They are two of the all time greats

  • Bradman blah!!! Blah!! Aren't u ashamed to compare sachin and Bradman? Tendulkar is the greatest batsman in the world with superior batting techniques, stroke play and consistency. Uncovered pitches, no proper bat etc..have no significance in batting techniques. Have u seen sachin play? What about his pull shots, coverdrives, leg glances and picture perfect sraight drives? Will bradman ever come near him? Would bradman play 20-20 like sachin does? Simply obsolete arguments wont help bradman.

  • @dasvaisakh

u are kidding??? look at the rules of the game now nd bfore.look at the old footages of those slings to bradman of the bodyline series.and moreover his best years was to come, but was taken away cuz of the war.

  • @jeganofsathyabama I am not talking abt rules, mate.....I m talking about technique and style of play. That alone makes tendulkar a 100 times better than bradman. Test and ODI are different. And bowlers during bradman's era were not up to the mark as todays.

  • you really think early batsmen were rubbish? Two of the greatest batsmen ever (Bradman and Hobbs) came from that time. If Bradman was around today then he would be a brilliant ODI and t20 player as well as tests because, like Sachin, Bradman is just a fantastic player. And you say these things about Tendulkar being better than Bradman but its hard to despute a man who has basically a hundred batting average, was the number one all arounder and batsmen and scored the most double centurys ever.

  • @dasvaisakh - nor will hypothetical waffling help your argument. Uncovered pitches could have a huge effect on the results of matches and greatly increased the degree of difficulty in batting and on batting averages. Have you seen Bradman play? Because those who have seen both the Don and Tendulkar would not agree with you. Your comment about 'consistency' is laughable. There has never been a more consistently successful run getter than Bradman. Would Bradman play 20-20? Why not?

  • @oshawaxpress since all the purists always talks about uncovered pitches and how difficult it was to bat in those time then how about present day bowlers they must be far better than all the past bowlers by a big margin since the pitches r flat nowadays, all batsman also wears protective gearings, may i say that bowlers may be so worse in past that even with uncovered pitches and without any protection many batsman averaged 50+ then

  • @spiritwithinxx you are just another sachin fanboy, fredrick spotthah (or something) bowlled at 90mph before the likes of bradman, when you watch some of the fast bowling with their braced front leg and arim snap they were quick.beleive me

  • all you retards defending sachin need to have a good hard look at yourselves. Bradman was playing cricket in a completely different time to sachin, in bradmans time you played on uncovered pitches all the time... no modern day player has played test cricket on an uncovered pitch with rain! also back then they didn't have all the technologies of today. for example better sight screens light meters etc and also a massive advantage for sachin is the huge bats of today

  • Indians: Tendulkar was the worlds best cricketer.

Australians: Bradman was the worlds best cricketer.

English: Bothem was the worlds best cricketer.

THERE IS NO WORLDS BEST CRICKETER

  • @Alexlance1997 I would say Sobers is the best all round cricketer ever; he was brilliant with bat, ball and in the field.

  • How does average work for cricket in base ball let's say you have 10 at bats and get on base 3 times you'd be 3/10 then you divid 3/10 to get your average I'm curious how cricket works

  • @MistfulRain total number of runs you've scored divided by the total number of times you were dismissed.

  • @MistfulRain The statistics show that "no other athlete dominates an international sport to the extent that Bradman does cricket". In order to post a similarly dominant career statistic as Bradman, a baseball batter would need a career batting average of .392, while a basketball player would need to score an average of 43.0 points per game. The respective records are .366 and 30.1.

  • Sir Don Bradman is the greatest batsman of all time.. no doubt!! Reason for that is his average close to 100.. which is nearly impossible to break for anyone because of the hectic cricketing schedule happening these days!! But if Don Bradman would have started career along with Sachin then by now we would be considering sachin to be the best!!

  • @jredhills and when sachin started his career alongside bradman he would probably hit by bowlers and may even get retired from cricket forever

  • @proudindian4u Boo! Lol!!

  • if tendulkar is allowed to play only against 1 weak team for his whole 22 year career .only on 1 or 2 kinds of pitches ..mostly his home grounds,we nevr know..he might as well have an avg of more than 100...who knows? yea but y only bradman has 99.9 n no one else?? yea the same holds true fro sachin ..y only sachin has 98 intn'l centuries n no one even close ..whts the next highest number of intn'l centuries??47 ODI 100's..next highest ?? 29? ponting..kewl.

  • with all due respect to bradman ..my intention was not to deride the greatness of the great man..not bcoz he was an australian or sachin is an indian..yea 99.9 avg stands tall but don't try to defend him just on that aspect...i never defend sachin saying he scored 98 plus intn'l 100's ... very strong points which bradman lacks..1 billion pressure..scoring centuries on all different pitches n bowling n fileding attacks.man of the series in ipl..yet humble..polite..unlike ponting n lara

  • n wht else ppl say abt bradman..tht he played without helmet on uncovered wickets.During tht time, every one played on uncovered wickets without helmet..evry one.PPL SAY SACHIN SCORED 51 TEST CENTURIES BCOZ HE PLAYED SO MANY TEST MATCHES..BUT DID U EVER THINK HOW COULD SACHIN PLAY SO MANY TEST MATCHES? I AM SURE NO ONE WUD HV THOUGHT..HE PLAYED N IS STILL PLAYING BCOZ HE WS SO CONSISTENT..THT QUALITY IS NOT SEEN IN ANY OF THE MODERN DAY BATSMEN.that is greatness.

  • @9909ritvik If you look at Don's first class career and not test career he played nearly 180 matches and still averaged 96. Highest score, 480 not out. Pretty consistent....Nearly averaging 100 over 180 matches means you can seriously play the game. If the great Don was Indian you'd probably dance in the streets naked chanting his name each anniversary of his birthday and treat him like a god with a little temple for him and a picture of him batting with little candles around it with incense!

  • i just don undrstand Y ppl hail bradman..wht did tht fucker do?? 99.9 avg?? fuck it assholes..against whom?? just larwood..is tht ur best call?? he is just an avg fuck whom bradman tamed all his life long.der was NO Mc Grath.NO wasim.NO Waqar.NO Warne.NO Donald..NO Aus fielding attack..NO SA fielding attack..NO RHODES..just 1 team..for 20 yrs..tht too B grade English bowling?? B grade english fielding.FUCK URSELF BRADMAN.play ipl.play odi.score 51 test centuries.BARE the burden of > 1 billion.

  • @9909ritvik Don carried Australia through the great depression if you wanted to bring up pressure. Doesn't say much about the batsmen of the past that couldn't get near the scores or averages of Bradman does it, Unless of course it was simply because Donald Bradman was that much better. People who are alive today that got to see him play say with passion that he is still by far the greatest. You look an utter fool if you compare yourself to the Great Don he is that far ahead of everyone.

  • I'm really starting to get into this. I can't find people interested in joining in the states.

  • ahaha its 480p and its shit quality...nice

  • does anyone know the link to watch Don hitting a golf ball against a corrugated tank with a cricket stump for practice..thats an amazing clip, I watched 10 yrs back and I bet, no one can practice with such accuracy...Practising with accuracy guys, unbelievable stuff, that is..And about who is best Don or Bradman, its ridiculous to say Sachin is better than Don...Don is the king of Test batting and Sachin comes next.....may call "Sachin the Don of ODIs"

  • If you want to be called equal to Bradman in today's era u hav to hav an average of 120- 130 and hit double ton every few matches. There is no deadly fast bowling left and so many safety equipments. He was naturally talented and however much u practice u cannot become that.

  • Biggest gentleman of the game.

  • vigneshwaran2000....listen 2 me u motherfucker..

go and hump sachin tendulkar, i dont care..but the thing is don is way better thn sachin..

sachin has himself admitted tht time 2 time..bradman is unparallel

  • If you're talking about Sachin and Bradman. The Don in a canter. You might not be able to decipher stats and conditions between different eras but, one thing that remains as difficult today as in the Dons day is hitting a golf ball against a corrugated tank with a cricket stump for practice. Show me Sachin doing that with ease and I'll change my opinion. Sachin has the 13th best test average and 50 test centuries over 21 years to make them isn't that exciting, That's like 2 & 1/2 100's a year!

  • he is utter waste.sachin ever time hero...

  • how is it rare??? there is 100's of videos of don

  • Sir Don Bradman's footwork resembles so much to that of Imtiaz Ahmad of Pakistan.

  • Bradman was better, played on rubbish pitches, facing bowlers every bit as good as today with no protective gear. only an ignorent fool could say he wasn't the best, look up his stats!

  • Actually, using technology, modern sports scientists have said that the likes of Harold Larwood bowled 150kph+. Try facing that with bugger-all protective equipment on uncovered wickets.

  • I'm sick of hearing people comment on either how the bowlers were slow back then or he only played against one country. You don't compare players from different eras, because the game styles back then were so much different. It was almost like playing a different sport. The reason Bradman is great is because he stood out from the rest. No other player from his timeframe got close to what he achieved, and since then no-one has dominated the game as much as he did.

  • its weird how this is 80 year old footage, and it seems like a modern batsman has strolled into the nets and been filmed in black n white.bradman is a legend, and is easily one of the greatest sports people of all time. and no one can take that away from him.even if stats suggest sachin is better, bradman turned batting into not just hitting a ball, but an artform, a model of technical wizardry :)

if bradman didnt have his pioneering technique, where would sachin be?

  • Very similar to the way Tendulkar bats.

Though I rate Tendulkar higher in terms of he scored runs on different pitches, against different bowlers and in different formats of the game and carries the hope on billions of people for almost 21 years.

  • i dont think so sachin is the only one god ruling cricket an will 4 ever.......... bradman dont even had class as sachin

  • @shine6844 sachin himself said that Bradman is much ahead of him.So you are questioning sachins ability

  • @shine6844 Let me guess, you're an indian and weren't even born bradman played

  • not being rude but bowlers those days used to ball like 70's mph not 90;s or 100 mph.. so thats y it was easy for him... tendulkar have faced high 90's n he made it look easy so sachin is the best batsman in the game of cricket..

  • hype created him just coz he has 99.94 average by playing one contoury most of his prime period ,i noticed his style, his selection of shots doesnt match to a bowloer like wasim or murali or shane wanre or mcgrath etc . too bad our greats like sachin lara steve waugh etc didnt playin that era they might have an average more than 150 plusor 200 bradman is lucky but a good player not agreat in my sense.

  • @varun050 playing against one country but still they didnt found any way to get him out and england was a much better team at that time.Uncovered pitches no helmets made batting difficult in those times.Several reasrches have shown that bowlers were faster in those days.Sachin, sobers ,benaud ,richards ,waugh have said batting was difficult in those days .So how can you say batting was easy in those days.No bowler these days bowls at 150

  • @varun050 awesome comment dude !!!

  • He does not elegant at all. Hype created by Aussies. Fast Bowlers that time were like spinners. Sachin looks and in my view is much better player than Don.

  • don bradman is still in the top 10 leading run scorers of all time having only played 83 games

  • We are not talking anybody's most fave or most elegant or most breathtaking but the greatest; stats WILL count, especially when there is no comparison in sight. The only one after him who could have stood ground was Sunny Gavaskar, he of 13 hundreds against 70's & 80's west Indians and some more against other great fast bowlers in the era of physical intimidation. But even Sunny would probably need an average of 75 to ask for the comparison - and he was well short of that, wasn't he?

  • So what's wrong with being a fan of 99.94? Who else has it, and in which form of cricket? Agreed that the X-factor of players of Don's era not wearing helmet and playing on uncovered pitches should be somewhat offset by better modern fielders and tactical shredding of batting techniques today. But the question remains - is there anyone from any era who is even close to ask for competition with Don on the term greatest?

  • Bradman is overhyped...

  • @divinegod123456 can you tell how?

  • @007dalal @007dalal Have you seen him batting? On the one hand people say statistics don't matter...on the other hand you say 99.94...

What do you know about Bradman other than Australians telling you that he is the greatest batsman ever?

What do you know about Bradman besides 99.94??

  • @divinegod123456 12 double centuries still a record second is brain lara with more than duble matches under his belt , a century in every 3 innings , 117 first class centuries , fastest to reach 100 first class centuries , 2 tripple centuries , one 299 not out ,only player to score 300 in a day , strike rate is 62 better than Sachin and Lara ,29 centuries in 80 innings where as even Rahul Dravid has 29 in 240 innings sachin attained it in approx 150 innings what else do you want

  • @divinegod123456 the fact that his firsy game of cricket ever was playing for his dads team when he was 12 coming in at number 11 and scoring a hundred

  • @divinegod123456 Test average of 99.94 on uncovered pitches. Yeah - definitely overrated.... You sir, are an idiot.

  • @malthuswasright @malthuswasright Thank you sir for that title...I know you are the greatest fan of Bradman's straight drive that you saw at Wankhede Stadium...live...

But many are just fans of 99.94.....but they are the ones who also say statistics don't matter!

Anyways...99.94 is the greatest batsman of all time...I agree!

Also, he was even greater because no one could use computers to analyze his strengths and weakness's and appreciate them..

  • @divinegod123456

And then...he did not have the priviledge of being watched by thousand shouting fans in the stadium...100s of Cameras ...and millions watching on TV....

Otherwise he would have been under so much pressure!

  • @divinegod123456 Not just 99.94, but facing the quickest bowlers on pitches which today would be called dangerous, with no body protection (so Bodyline would not work) and no helmets. On today's flat tracks he would be very hard to dislodge. Pressure? Crowds in those days were way larger than today, and much more raucous and unforgiving... Modern batsmen are cossetted.

  • If bradman batted in this era he wouldn't average double figures, he has the technique of a number 11

  • When cricket used to be real game .Not like now a days equipped with so many thing like going to war ..I bet you still if they equipped me No body can bold me !

  • 99.94

  • @shiv100p You're forgetting that in his day teams played far fewer matches. Sachin gets say 4 series a year, so lots of opportunities. Bradman scored 7000 runs (near enough) in only 52 test matches. Sachin has scored a little under twice that number of runs, but it has taken him 3 times as long, on better quality piches. And Bradman didn't have the chance to play the might of Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. No contest.

  • re: peacemaker185

bradman's stroke play doesn't look like tendulkar's, tendulkar's stroke play looks like bradman's.

  • don bradman was the best

  • Comment removed

  • @dheeraj5 i dont reply to dogs

  • @Raja7861000

was the best? are you high?

no one will ever match bradman.

    EVER.

  • @shaunlikescheese

    ohh my bad

    sorry m8

  • if sachin is god of cricket,

sir don is god of god

  • @akshaye12290 And Sachin Tendulkar is beyond the words...you need to invent a new word to describe him!

  • @akshaye12290 THATS TOTALLY WRONG! Sachin > Sir Don

  • Comment removed

  • @akshaye12290 Dont b so mean, my friend........god of god is god itself...........its tendulkar.

  • @akshaye12290 If don is god of god. Sachin is God of God's God

  • @1212yuvi sachin can be toilet cleaner hehehe

  • omg, this is batting perfection...

  • His stroke play looks very much like tendulkar

  • I am no expert but I can notice some similarities especially the pull shot.

  • Tendulker is great no doubt but nowhere near as good as this man.

  • @menec4 tendulkar is good, but bradman is a different level he is the g.o.a.t ,tendulkar you can compare with ponting, kallis, dravid etc they have similar batting average...

  • @joefurzton Wow...you can judge Bradman's batting by this footage...

    You must be a genius...
