  • @thediscussionofslidetrumpetandsopranotbone IT's funny because there's a differnece between a slide trumpet and soprano trumpet. Look up Firebird slide trumpet.

  • @shinytrombone11 I play both. I prefer the trombone, but I usually call it a slide trumpet. Mostly because when I first saw one, it was labeled as a slide trumpet. Also, people get this really stupid look on their faces when you say slide trumpet. If I'm in a fancy mood I call it a soprano trombone.

  • I used to play the sax but then I took an arrow to the knee and now pkay the trombone teehee

  • I'm a trumpet player, and I refuse to call it a slide trumpet...

And I hate when people do. =/

  • lol its so tiny! i've loved trombones ever since i was 10 just wanna make sure u don't think i'm making fun of it!

  • @TheRealShaba421 ... yes, it sometimes feels like my tenor trombone shrunk in the wash ;7)

  • Sorry, Trumpet players. If it has only slide on it, and no valve, its a trombone. No matter what the size is.

  • Where's the tuning slide? XD

  • @lehman8r -- tuning slide doubles as the connection between the bell and the slide itself...

  • a soprano trombone is also called the slide trumpet!!

  • @21blueboy21 It actually is a different instrument from the slide trumpet which has 3 valves and has been out of use for ages. It follows the same principles of how you wouldn't call a bass trumpet a vavled trombone

  • good

  • its adorable, i want one!!

  • awesome

  • trombone = fretless trumpet

  • @mashafasha5 ... though some trumpet players are known to fret, i believe you meant to type valveless trumpet ;7)

  • @GeremyLive yeah that (=

  • @GeremyLive well that is a nifty littly nose you made there.. xD beautiful sound by the way, i'm inspired to start playing the soprano trombone now..

  • @potterpuff -- thanks ;7)

  • @mashafasha5 um excuse me, imbecile... trombone= trombone... trumpets arent the only instrument that is good... go search joseph alessi. 10 times better than any trumpet player

  • @sagetinthahood now lets be fair here there are trumpet players who are just as good at their instrument as trombone players like Joseph Alessi. Now I'm a trombone player and I love the trombone far more than trumpet, but you can't say Alessi is ten times better. Besides, Alessi isnt even the best. You wanna talk epic trombone players look up Glenn Miller or J.J. Johnson of Kai Winding or Wycliff Gordon.....

  • Also called a slide trumpet...mine has the bell even with first position on the slide making positions harder to find but still fun thing to play on.

  • I now have another item on the shopping list

  • I always knew Kermit the Frog was a pimp...

  • it's cute!!

  • Random Kermit voice for the win.

  • So, it's a trumpet with a slide? lol

  • That sound a lot like a trumpet

  • I can answer that. It's a Trumpet with no valves and one slide :)

  • kermit the pimp.

  • nice imrpovs; but a bach 42B will cover that octave plus a lot more i used to run 5 octave scales on it when i made all state back in the day... a soprano cant do anything different that a double trigger mid bass can do

  • @monkadelic13 -- true. This Berkeley is really a novelty instrument. My tenor is a pro Yamaha, which like your Bach 42B has a much wider range available.

  • @GeremyLive yeah man once i got rid of the 32 pea shooter i never looked back. its 20 years old now; lost its laquer and dented to hell and back from marching... but still sounds like a champ; actually sounds better now with age.

  • is it going to be hard to switch from a tenor trombone to a soprano trombone

  • @ckn1312 -- depends on how well your embouchure can adapt to the difference in bore size. Also, the slide positions are much closer on the soprano.

  • @ckn1312 normally trumpet players play the soprano trombone, noormal trombone players sometimes switch to the bass trumpet.

  • what type of mouthpiece is that

  • @MeTube7734 -- it's a trumpet mouthpiece with a slightly larger bore.

Makes transitioning between tenor bone and soprano a bit less harrowing.

  • I like both your playing and your voice impressions.

  • I've got one of those Berkley's. Um.... It's the only one I've had but lets just say... you get what you pay for....

  • @MrTrombonerdude -- true enough, but it's playable and priced well enough for a starter soprano horn.

You can always drop more on a better one in the future if you're so inclined, right?

  • So desperate to get a Soprano...or alto, which ever I can get first...

  • Quite nice.

  • is the mouthpiece the same size as a regular tenor trombone?

  • @PerryThePlatyps probably not. being that the other name for this is the "slide cornet", it probably has a cornet-sized mouthpiece.

  • @PerryThePlatyps -- no, it's a trumpet mouthpiece

  • ¬¬

  • whoe else thought that this would be the soul eater theme song : ( Oh well, very cool instrument

  • How bad is it that the first thing I thought of when you played it is, "Wow, that sounds like a trombone! But, like, higher!"

Very sweet instrument, I'm looking forward to learning how to play the different varieties besides the Tenor. :)

  • Geremy, good Kermit, the frog imitation. Jim Henson'd be proud of you. God bless!

  • Sos medio boludo, pero tocas bien el trombone!

    Salud

  • mm i wouldnt mind playing that kind of a trombone. what brand is it?

  • @trombonejazzer -- It's a Berkeley, from Northern California.

  • I like how trumpet players call it a "slide trumpet" and trombone players call it a "soprano trombone"..

but we all know that trombone players are always right.

  • @shinytrombone11 Naturally. As we all know, being a trombone player means you are a borderline god. When I first started playing trombone I soon developed the ability to levitate.

  • @shinytrombone11 I prefer to call it 'sopranino Tuba with a slide'

  • @shinytrombone11 i call it the trombone piccolo. and im a trombone player.. so am i 50% right.

  • @shinytrombone11 not disagreeing with u, but its funny u say that because i call it soprano trombone(im trumpet player) and the other day my friend(plays lead trombone in adv jazz band and marching band) suggested i buy a "slide trumpet" on ebay.

  • It's not a tiny trombone, ¡he's the one that's huge!

  • does it use a trumpet mouth piece?

  • @upthetree42 Looks like a large Mellophone mouthpiece.

  • @upthetree42 ... yes it does. This one came with a larger bore trumpet mouthpiece to ease the transition between tenor and soprano. Sounds a bit like a flugelhorn.

  • its a trumpet with a slide instead of valves

  • good sound!

  • OMG I WANT A SOPRANO TROMBONE!!!

  • @JingerSK ... try playing it underwater ;7)

  • Could it blow the same tune like a tenor trombone??

  • @coolch20 ... You could play the same tune on a tenor -- this horn is pitched one octave higher.

  • @GeremyLive Thank you. I bougt a tenor trombone on net shop yesterday~ I'm waitting for it~

  • Comment removed

  • Does it have the same positions/ is it in treble clef or bass still? Thanks

  • @mordechai347 ... it's pitched an octave above the tenor and most of what is read on the musical scale would be in the treble clef. The positions are practically the same, as Bb is played in first position (though the slide positions are much closer together).

  • Looks like a trumpet with a slide to me.

  • @The1Skinsfan ... it is also called a slide trumpet.

  • Wanna give me yours? I'll give you a hug for it! :D

  • @DanielProctor775 ... thanks for the offer, but i'll pass.

  • @GeremyLive your loss

  • daora o tromboninho mas o cara eh virgem

  • I want one

  • i would like one haha i have a tenor trombone and i want to keep that and get the soprano trombone

  • Slide trumpet

  • Are the slide positions the same as a tenor trombone, or are they different because it's technically a trumpet?

  • awesome song, can you hook me up with some sheet music?

  • haha...kermit the pimp

  • how about the piccalo trombone????

  • how do you even tune that? i didnt see a regular tuning slide

  • from what i can see you adjust the mouthpiece liek on a saxaphone

  • ...the tuning is done between the bell and slide

  • haha thi sguy i ssoo funny

  • jajaja"

  • i would overextend the slide and it would fall off sooooo many times since i would be used to the tenor trombone

  • freaky creeper lol.............

  • EXELENTE

  • freak :D

  • sounds like a low note trumpet :)

  • @diahooh yeah, I was gonna say... sounds like a flumpet, without valves , but with a slide

flumpet= the droopy trumpet played by Art Farmer.

  • Yep, it's pitched one octave above a tenor trombone.

  • @GeremyLive Could it blow the same tune like a tenor trombone??

  • guess what? thats because it is! another name for it is a slide trumpet

  • @diahooh ill take my tenor any day. might look into a bass trombone.

  • sweet now i know what i want for my birthday!

  • You are a goofball.

  • i want that....

  • What brand of soprano is it? I'm looking to get one. Looking at a Jupiter at the moment.

  • It's a Berkeley -- their HQ's are near San Fran, CA.

A Jupiter would probably be good as well.

    Cheers!

  • err, that was a bit odd.

  • Y'know Ger, you really shouldn't put your instruments in the dryer...

  • Genius!!! that's hilarious

  • nice!!!!!!!!!

  • More

    please~

  • will do in due course...
