The president and vice president are not elected democratically. There is the electoral college in between them that does not consider the popular vote and was created to overturn the popular vote if the people in power did not like the choice the people made.

I know very little about her. I remember enough about Hillary from her stint as co president to be pretty damn sure she has to be an improvement over her. For various personal reasons there is a huge gap between 2000 and 2003 that I did not have the time to keep up with things other than by mainstream news.
