  • .....people really have to understand what is "shutter lag"....

  • @fujiguys Has there been any improvements to sealing the viewfinder? I hated getting dust in my X100

  • @purethanol I don't think the X-Pro1 will had any of that issue.

  • Bad AF and that Fuji delay on the shutter ain't going to cut it, pre nor post if the price is set to what it is by todays standard

  • @TheChill0ut This video is about the sound of the focal plane shutter. I don't think using this video to judge AF nor shutter lag is correct. Without the mirror like most DSLR, the X-Pro1 has less shutter lag than DSLR.

  • @fujiguys hey guys?

Why not just reply with a quick video demonstrationg the shutter lag with a side by side comparrison of a similar priced DSLR?

Perhaps that will settle the moans from the armchair togs lol.

  • @fujiguys As @BlouseFashion said i would too want to see a comparison between a DSLR and this, i know this video isn't about the AF but the other videos out there have shown that the AF problems haven't been reduced since the X100.

Love Fuji's ambitions in getting cool concepts out on the market, but a delay to finish the products entirely would be a whole gamechanger.

  • Hey Fujifilm, where is my x100 firmware update?

Auto focus on the x100 is very slow and often misses focus completely in low light situation.

Manual focus on the x100 is completely un-intuitive and takes dozen of turns to go from macro to infinity.

Do you think people will want to invest in your X-Pro1 system if your support for existing products is so abysmal?

  • @BoxxyFan Please be patient, however some things can be improved over firmware.

  • @damens and DUMBER

  • What ARE you guys talking about ?? It's quite clear on this video that the sensor is normally exposed and that this is the point from which the exposure starts - the mechanical shutter only comes across to COMPLETE the exposure, not to initialise it. So if the shutter speed was about 1/30th second in these examples, there is no shutter lag at all - it's just the completion of a moderately lengthy exposure. Just watch the video and you you should see this is the case.

  • It was also why what you call the "shutter lag" seems to vary - because the shutter speed was varying prior to the mechanical shutter coming across to complete the exposure !!

  • @damens Hey "smart" a-s-s. We already know how a shutter works on a camera, on how the shutter performs during long exposures. Watch the video carefully, the shutter speed dial was set to 1/4000sec which is a very fast shutter speed, carefully look, the first click was alright, but the proceeding clicks are all delayed.

  • @baguiopunx and yet you are judging a pre-release camera with Firmware which the FujiFilm Guys have already said is quirky and far from complete (or do you believe the camera will take 30 seconds to Autofocus in normal lighting/contrast situations when it is actually released ?). From the video of the continuous drive at high speed, one would suggest the shutter was responsive and the buffer large - no shutter lag at 6 frames per second, which would suggest something else is occurring here.

  • @damens It's a good thing to criticize a pre-release camera for them (Fujifilm) to fix the problem and improve it. That's a beautiful camera, but the delay of its shutter curtain is a turn-off if they don't fix it. All of us (you, me, others) wanted a camera to take the shot right just when we press fully the shutter release button, not after pressing it.

Hmmm... I wonder where have all your comments to us saying we're "dumb" ...?

Anyway, I stick to it, the shutter curtain is delayed...

  • @baguiopunx

IF they don't fix it, then NO-ONE will buy it, but for the sake of perspective it needs to be stated that this is a pre-release model with a beta firmware which is acknowledged as being incomplete and therefore may not (in fact SHOULD NOT) be indicative of the release version. This is a valid and important point to actually articulate rather than assuming it is known by all the previous posters.

I deleted the "dumb" comments, because I was dumb to make them in the first place.

  • @damens haha... Yeah, I hope that the final release of this X-Pro1 will have its issues/bugs fixed. I'm really planning to get one with 35mm and the rumored 14mm lens. Anyway, nice to have a good conversation...

  • @baguiopunx PS - Probably best not to speak for other people whose knowledge is presumably unknown to you - how do you know they know "how a shutter works" (which is a naive statement anyway as their are actually a few different ways in which a shutter can work). It would not be unreasonable for someone not to know that in some cameras the "shutter" is initially electronic, and in some the mechanical shutter must actually CLOSE before opening again, some shutters are entirely electronic etc.

  • Oh my God! I was 'inloved' with this camera, but now that I saw the delay, I got turned off with it... That delay is a BIG thing for a professional photography especially when on work...

  • Horrible shutter lag!!i 'm surprised they call it a "pro" model. This is just perfect to miss the moment!

  • @aleregi87 Video is to demo "shutter sound"

  • Actually it looks as if the shutter is okay on the first press in his series of presses. Only after his first press in a group did they seem a bit laggy. I have no idea what that means though.

Are we just imagining things FujiGuys, or is there some lag when you take a series of shots back to back?

  • @CyCreativeMedia No memory card inside (internal memory), no attached lenses. Compare to DSLR, shutterlag is less due to lack of flipup mirror. Shot-to-shot time speed based on fast SD card, recommend Sandisk Extreme Pro.

  • I am beginning to love my Konica Hexar AF a whole lot more.

  • Horrible shutterlag. That is embarrissing and unexpected for such a highcost camera!

  • @TheTukTuk2008 Video is to demo Shutter Sound

  • great video, but the delay is too long!

  • Comment removed

  • Ohh I take that back. The delay is unacceptable, since I am seriously getting this camera. In my previous statement, I thought the highest shutter speed was 1/125th, with sync I guess its OK.

  • Comment removed

  • wow!! thats quite a delay!. 1/125th of a second?! WTH!? And you want 1500 for the body?!?

  • Comment removed

  • Is there a delay ??

  • @MfromGVK Shutter lag is less than DSLR. Video is to demo Shutter sound and not speed of operation.

  • @white8ass8kika you wouldn't know what to do with one if it was a gift, troll. Do us all a favour and throw yourself in a garbage truck.

  • @frederickwarner fuck off you twat, you obviously dont have any common sense. look at whats already on the market, this camera is shit. you dont need a built in OVF or EVF especially at such a sacrifice. i hate fuji
