Everybody gets inspiration from somewhere-including the vintage pattern creators you're talking about. There's nothing new under the sun.But inspiration and theft are two different things- I'm pretty sure this is the former-not only could she get in legal trouble for it, but I'm assuming that, like any other really creative person who takes pride in what they do, she wouldn't plagarize an exact pattern or piece of work. And vintage is just a euphemism for old clothes other people have worn before.
Ethnic patterns have existed for centuries.Clothes were mass produced in the 70s too - just because you haven't seen anybody in the shirt so far doesn't mean it wasn't.And no matter what cutesy way you put it, vintage or preloved, at the end of the day those are just clothes that someone else wore, sweated in and god knows what else.I like bargains too but I'll pass. And work by current designers will be owning a piece of history in the future too.
I wash clothing before wearing. I'm not saying YOU have to wear vintage. I didn't even ask for your opinion on the matter. I'm just saying, i personally prefer to buy authentic 70s clothes that are alot cheaper and tell a story. The only reason i mentioned it is because anna sui's collection reminded me of the era. everything you stated i have heard before.
Cheap but cool clothes can be found without wearing something that other people sweated in/onto, spilled stuff on-stuff that's been in contact with other people's private areas and bodily fluids-yeah, you SHOULD wash that stuff if you insist on wearing it.Designer wear usually DOES have a story behind it-collections are based around a theme and things the designers experienced or were inspired by as well very complex stories or works of art from other mediums, their own personal philosophies...
dreamy, flairy, fairy, anna, flirty, sexy, cute, girly, piramids, sand. COLOURS, DeSsInS!! and the jewelry is wellpicked. I like this show the most. I wish i seen this one in real. *yipyip*

The Skirts and Jewlery were beautiful. Very Ornate and unexpected, but at the same time wearable, and subtle.

Ethnic as always. And this IS good!
Anna Sui uses very much the earth tones, reminding of beach, forest, calming things. And this IS good!
Anna Sui made lovely jewels, with a lot of muranos. And this IS good!
Anna Sui make incredible flats and awesome boots. And this IS good!
