  • thanks for the all the info, i just bought some on ebay for 17.00 a one half ounce

  • bite into it

  • That is cheap. How does the quality of Chinese truffle compare to that of French ones?

  • where do you get truffles that cheap!?! wish i could find some lol

  • I love how everyone is bashing on the chinks while your whole entire house is filled with MADE IN CHINA. Stupid idiots.

  • chinese truffles are a scam. they are nowhere near the quality or value of a real french or italian black truffle. they are often "cut" into batches of french black truffles because they look the same.

  • Chinese truffles are worth $23 dollars a pound!!!!! They have no smell, taste, or worth.

  • yeah keep boosting the chinese economy while ours tank when we have people who grow them in the USA. r u sure its not tainted? it cant be quality.

  • thats a crack truffle!!

  • another chinese knockoff!!! cant be quality!!!!

  • You got ripped off. Those farmed Chinese truffles taste nothing like the real thing.

  • cool video!

  • I had a whole coffee can (dried)of them I dug out of a auto store parking lot stump(lilac). It smelled up my whole apartment so I threw them out.

  • Nice video. Didn't think you could get them that cheap. Thanks for posting it!

  • Nice video but that's a really cheap truffle. Massively inferior in taste to white truffles, or black truffles from countries other than China. Chinese Truffles are pretty awful. :(

  • That's so fucking CHEAP! SEND ME TRUFFLES!!

  • can you eat truffles raw by them selves?

  • @tylerwalker2 Usually you grate 'em finely over pasta etc. Most chefs these days use truffle oil since it's cheaper.. The best is to use both.

  • The black truffles from China are absolutely shit. They ARE cultivated and their flavour and aroma are no where near that of a truffle grown in the wild; northern Italy/croatia/france. Thats why they are sold for rediculously cheap. $139.99 is DIRT cheap for truffles. Even truffles grown in Oregon are much better than truffles from China. I've worked in restaurants and have dealt with truffle suppliers. And They stopped using pigs in the mid 1800s bc they would eat them. Only dogs are used now.

  • and third, u have to wait for you mamal to poop and then bury its shit in the ground, mark the spot, wait one year, and bring out the dogs, and ill proove, they'll find truffles!

  • @flviusro interesting theory you have. You simply buy a hazlenut tree that's infected with truffle spore. Plant it in the ground in the right conditions. If you're lucky, each year you will find truffles on the tree's lateral roots. They're a parasitic fungus.

  • Hei dude, i search for truffles since i was a baby with my dad in the woods where i live. u are right about aproximatly all of what your saying, but, might i add that: 1, u can train dogs to find truffles, and i have 12 of them that find me pounds and pound, 2 pigs were used originaly in frace, and now theire used rarely, 3, u can cultivate them!yeah, but first u have to get urself a pig or some mamal that eats these things, second, u have to have a moisturise soil in your yard, and trees

  • its a fungi

  • use it for eggs for breakfast. It tastes greats. Try winter whites.

  • Interesting, thats really cheap for truffles! I would love to get my hands on some :)

  • Hello,

I was going to send you some more info on truffles. Chinese truffle varieties(tuber indicum) are nothing like French Perigord truffles(melanosporum.). Their taste is nothing like the Perigord, and thus much cheaper. The chinese truffle has no flavor in comparison, which is why it has called a disruption in the market. Also, that speck of truffle at the bottom of your truffle oil has not flavored the oil, however is solely for aesthetics.

Truffle oil is flavored with a synthetically.

  • at first, i thought it was as big as ur fist, i was very much mistaken

  • thats wierd it says 139.99 a pound but then it says the price about 5 dollars is it really that light

  • @noobzhovsepownzyou What he bought was far less than a pound.

  • eek, look like a piece of charred do-do.

  • i love truffles on mushroom risotto with balsamic jus i get it at a restraunt called number 8

  • i thought this was gonna be about fireworks lol

  • Great video. My wife an I love using Truffle oil to cook. We have only used fresh truffles a few times to cook and man what a treat they are. Enjoy! BTW what Giant eagle did you pick that up at? I'd love to pick some up.

  • @vedder316 You sound familiar with the Giant Eagle chain. I purchased this at one of their upscale stores just outside of Pittsburgh in Robinson Township. If you have the chain near you look for the Market District one, they may have it. This store near me just opened recently and they are carrying exotic items.

  • I am just North of Pittsburgh (Richland Twp) My wife knows of the Robinson location and will be stopping this evening after work to check it out. Thanks for the info!

  • Whats does a truffle taste like?

  • @MorsamMosa It has an earthy floral taste.

  • That was a neat video!

  • Very interesting and informative video!
