Well it really was a spur of the moment thing. Wasn't meant to have a camera mounted to her. She is set-up for aggressive outdoor flights including loops and rolls.
@dkfuji But you did what you said you didn't mean to do...fly with a camera mounted to her. If you know you mounted a camera to her, and you plan on using the video for YouTube...then you fly as smooth as possible so people can enjoy the video you didn't mean to mount on your helicopter... ok...no more time to waste here...
Impressive! I thought this helicopter was a micro. It would be interesting to see a picture with the camera attached. Is it much bigger than a 4#3B? (That's what I fly)
I love the video you shot with your Ufly heli. Did you mod the heli in any way? Also how exactly does the velcro strap to the camera, is it just velcro sticky to your camera or some other way as to not damage your camera. If you have more video please share. Thanks, sorry for all the questions, much appreciated.
No there were no mods done to the Ufly. The small piece of industrial velcro was stuck to the top of the camera and pressed to the bottom of the frame. The other strap was used at the bottom of the camera and landing skids. The top velcro acts like a pivot to get the downward angle I wanted. Sorry, I have not shot another one yet. Will do a more scenic spot next time.
Just wondering.. what camera did you put on the heli?
the picture looks amazing, but... so i would assume that it's a "heavier" camera.... which camera did you mount on it? how did you mount it?
thanks!

Thanks man. You know its funny. All I did was velcro the camera onto the landing skids. No fancy camera mount or nothing. LOL.

Most small heli videos I've seen are very very shaky but this seems very clear. Nice.

Thanks man. Takes a lot of balancing to get the heli as smooth as possible.

Video could be much much better if you didn't fly so irractically.

Is this a 300 gram Sony DSC-01 Cybershot attached to the heli?

Very cool video - I must get one - I'm pretty much "done" with coaxials and need something more exciting. Nice video - good flyin - thanks.

@KatzOhki
Yes it is much bigger than a 4#3b. It is about the size of a 400 series heli.

So which is better for carrying a camera, the Ufly, or the LM3? I noticed you have attached cameras to both.
Riktar123 2 years ago
For right now, the Ufly is simpler and easier to set-up for aerial vids. Still working on the LM3 platform though. WIP still.

I have velcro at the top and velcro straps to the skid supports. Light weight and very strong.
