ya know, for everyone who complains about the quality of music today, go out and see some local music in your town or city. there are plenty of us local musicians out working, and out gigging, who have a lot of love for this music and put just as much heart, soul and work into it as these guys did. Much love to CCR.
@2514Nicole Great Music to drive to... every time I head out around the country I'll always have CCR playing in my car... I don't think anything else comes close to the feeling of getting away from it all and having John Fogerty lul you into a nice groove :-)
imagine if they were singing now-adays. how great would it be. us younger generations are seriously deprived of really good bands. with the ecception of maybe 4or 5.***
@gobling5235 ... Your well-said sentiments remind me of one other thing. There can be no comparison between Hendrix, Clapton, Page, Fogerty, Santana, or any of the others. Each has a different style and inspiration. What a dull world it would be if everyone was alike. What point would there be, for example, to compare Fogerty's mastery of the guitar to any other musician? He's obviously an accomplished guitarist. The inspired sounds he creates to go with the lyrics is what makes him great.
I concur with your sentiment. The focus should be squarely on the music. That being said, CCR's simplicity was, in fact, their "style." The plaid shirts and the blue jeans were part of their bayou/down home/swamp look. It was an attempt to cultivate their image. Of course, I like that better than the outlandish stuff that Elton John would later come up with (and, that is now practiced by acts like Lady Gaga). Also, elaborate stage sets had not really been invented yet.
dios creci escuchando este tipo de musica, que recuerdosme trae con mi padre, nostalgia en una sola palabra. saludos a todos desde venezuela. se les quiere.
We have had bands from the states. These guys take the cake though for that summer feel good music. They got shit for when you wake up. Middle of the day. Afternoon. Dinner time. even friggin midnight. You cant top a band who topped every emotion of a classic summer. CCR may you forever be remembered in the hall of legends. I will have my kids listen to you when ever i may have them So they can be graced with your awsome music first.Keep rockin. May the midnight special shine on you forever!!!!!
CCR is about as "American" as it gets. Saw CC Revisited 10 or so yrs ago & it was great. SIDE NOTE: That Big Boy drummer doesn't look like someone you'd want to mess with!
Why can't we have more stuff like this nowadays? Not sure why people would rather listen to jokes claiming to be songs like "In the Ayer" and lyrics that can't get beyond going to clubs.

i adore their impeccable color-blind taste in music.
covered best songs ever written, never giving genre a second thought.
Their own songs inspired other great musicians, crossed over black & white showing there is nothing there to distinct .
A triumphant declaration to all who, for ages, viciously tried to categorise MUSIC as "black", "White, "race music" etc...
what a knockout !
there IS only M U S I C.
Music is nothing but Love.
Love as no color, just Truth.

One of my favorite 60's/70's band of all time.
John Fogerty still kicks ass, and I hope he remains around for a long long time.
Him and Jerry Lee Lewis (one of our all time greats) should do a show, with Joe south and many more friends.
May our music never die.
