I remember how frikkin' EPIC this game was when it came out. With the story and cut scenes, it was almost like an interactive movie. Way ahead of its time.

@TheSliferSoul It is difficult and then once you hit level 6-2 it becomes insanely difficult.

I very much agree, I spent HOURS and DAYS trying to finish this game for many years but never got the job done. Once got within two bars of energy on final boss but ran out of shirikens. But I still love this game even today.

@Dan32280 Well i made it to the final boss. But then i ended up back at stage 6-1. I will never beat it. At least i was damn hardcore powerful while playing it. So intense!!

The gameplay was still epic and this was one of the hardest games on nes along with ghosts n goblins, metal gear and others.

They just don't make em like that anymore, although I've recently purchased a 360 and found I'm hopelessly addicted to the call of duty series in particular zombies.

ahh, classic. I just finished my daily ninja gaiden fix. Every day I play and beat it without dying in about 15-16 minutes. It's just a part of my routine. I must say, I don't believe this guy actually beat malth w/o getting hit. It must have been TAS. If it's theoretically possible, to avoid one hit, then MAYBE a human could avoid one, but each and every one? I REALLY doubt it...but who knows.

Sick skills, I have always been terrible at this game, I still have original copy for NES and i'm lucky if I can get past 4 or 5 levels.
