Hmm What speaker's have you got? What make and what version, I can then determine your problem. (Make sure you are doing that in the "Recording" tab.

Unplug and disable all mic's or headset's, Disable your Speaker's which should be in Playback, Enable Stereo Mix, Then it should record the sound. QUICK REPLY WIN.

For fucks sake LOLROFL. Have you got all mic's joysticks unplugged? Make sure you do first, Open up the sound menu, And right click click on "Recording devices" then right click again and make sure "Show Disabled devices" Has a tick next to it. Make sure you right click on stereo mix and click "Eneble"

i have vista and nothing is plugged in to my computer exept the charger. under the recording tab the only things are "microphone line in/ not plugged in" and, "microphone array/ working"... there isnt even a stereo mix

Make sure you are on the "Recording devices" Tab and then right click Then click on "Disabled devices" And it should show up, If not you most likley dont have the software, (Not an expert but, Maybe someone in a computer store could help you.)

I'm sorry but it looks like you do not have the Stereo Mix software,Just make sure you are on the "Recording Devices" Tab, Make sure you are using Vista, Make sure you have no mic's or erephones plugged in at the time. If you want more help it will be better if you go into a computer shop and ask them about the Stereo Mix software.
