I've got one of these, and they're aren't aas dangerous as people make them out to be. They are EXTREMELY dangerous when you are towed behind a boat driver whp doesn't know what he's doing....clawing back the throttle is probably the worst thing you can do! You drop like a rock and hit the tube hard (probably upside down). They're dangerous, but we use it with a wakeboard helmet and only ever do it on flat flat water with no wind at sensible speeds, it's really good fun if you do it properly!

Exactly! Its the same concept if a driver pulling a skiier doesn't make enough wide enough turn. The only way a skiier can compensate for the loosened rope tension is to veery to the outside of the curve to pick up speed. Lowering the speed for this causes the Manta to lose lift.
