Sorry but I don't understand. The Tibetan team knew that it needed a special permission to enter the archeological site and do its "ceremony" (which is impossible to get since the law in Greece regarding archeological sites is very strict). Without it, they were aware that the guardian of the archeological site (the guy with the black jacket) couldn't allow them to go further. Nevertheless they tried to enter the site by force thus the guardian had to stop them.

I don't see any policemen in this clip, just the guardian of the site who has strict orders to protect the site. The "peaceful protestors" tried to enter by force and thus they were stopped. I am sure they would be stopped in any modern European country. In fact they would be probably arrested as well. Something that didn't happen in this case.

But on the BBC news (BEEB) there is a difference camera angel it shows the protesters being push around and manhandled there was no film or comment about force entertry. In Tibet, food and water supplies have reportedly been cut off at the three major monasteries around Lhasa. One hundred and forty Tibetans have died and more than a thousand Tibetans have been detained since the uprising began with peaceful protests on 10 March.

Is the problem in Tibet so serious that it deserve so much attention? There must be some misunderstanding. The media, the West, the Chinese and ppl from Tibet...Everybody tends to act emotionally and irrationally. Just ask yourself, how much do you know about Tibet and what you get from the news are they relaible? What kind of position are we at while we are trying to protest? China is not North Korea, Chinese are trying to improve. That takes time! Vigorious confrontation doesnt help at all!!

I sympathise with the Tibetans' suffering under the bloody communist regime, but I wonder how appopriate it is to go to the Olympic torch site and do all that. The ancient Greeks actually didn't have very good human rights records themselves; afte all, they practised slavery and infanticide, and worshipped gods who went around raping and killing humans or driving them insane or making them kill their own parents or children.

The most unfortunate and sad part is that most Chinese in PRC have been fed 3rd grade propaganda for history who keep spouting their trash arguments here and everywhere else on the net, as if when a billion people tell a lie, it will become the truth, amazing but sad. Hopefully someday they will grow up and stop this inhumane suppression of other cultures. But it will take a few generations, because foreign rules and communist purges destroyed the leadership, which is causing current problems.

Breakup of Soviet Union and a similar future for China is what the Han ethnic group dread and is trying to avoid. The Russians have way too much land and resources than they need and not enough population resources to keep minorities under control, that is why they let go. The situation is opposite for Han Chinese, they have too many people and not enough land, "Lebensraum" should ring a bell here.

Forcible assimilation is not new for the Han Chinese, Manchu's became a victim after they lost their position as rulers, Mongols are a 10% minority in Inner Mongolia today, Uyghurs, Kazaks and Kyrgyz barely hold majority in Xinjiang where there were less than 1% Han before PLA invasion of 1951 and with the new railway in Tibet the process just got started for Tibet. Communism is an imperial tool of the ethnic Han, just as Marxism was for ethnic Russian in Soviet Union.

jamescj be quiet. you obviously know nothing about those situations. quebec was willing to be a part of canada, while tibet is not willing to be a part of china. northern ireland is also a different situation, while half of the people there want to be a part of the uk while half do not. and iraq; well it does deserve to be freed but if you feel it should be freed you should be equally ecstatic about tibet being freed.

China government has spent billion dollars on improving the Tibet living standards, economy, foods, schools, hospitals, infrastructures. You have never been to Tibet, you have no idea how severer the life in Tibet is, they cannot evern feed themselves without the support of cetral goverment. In histroy most of poor people in Tibet had been treated as slaves by Dalai Lama. China goverment freed them from being slaves. If you think being a starving slave is far better than a Chinese, it's ur call.

We are totally different from the Chinese - language, culture and historically, we had own Flag our own currency we have different food. We eat Tsampa. So 2008 is year of Tibetan independence. Sorry but I don't understand. The Tibetan team knew that it needed a special permission to enter the archeological site and do its "ceremony" (which is impossible to get since the law in Greece regarding archeological sites is very strict). Without it, they were aware that the guardian of the archeological site (the guy with the black jacket) couldn't allow them to go further. Nevertheless they tried to enter the site by force thus the guardian had to stop them.

This was so shameful for a modern europe were policeman showed no respect to a peaceful protest and freedom of speech

I don't see any policemen in this clip, just the guardian of the site who has strict orders to protect the site. The "peaceful protestors" tried to enter by force and thus they were stopped. I am sure they would be stopped in any modern European country. In fact they would be probably arrested as well. Something that didn't happen in this case.

But on the BBC news (BEEB) there is a difference camera angel it shows the protesters being push around and manhandled there was no film or comment about force entertry. But if Greeks have endorse Beijing Olympic like every one else, then it only fair that that tibetans take advantage and protest why the world watches. why milions are being made in sponership and advents people die in china and tibet for what! sense of fair play I think not.
