this is not a blooper. he did it on purpose. he is a skilled enough craftsman that he could have made the hair not come off. he carved the doll head and then carved the hair separate. i think the reason it was not painted all the way on the inside was becasue it is either not going to be looked at enough to matter or it was on purpose to make fun of hair peices

I don't like the feel of this. I've seen the making of on the DVD. If it was planned he would have had decent jokes to go with it. And also on the DVD special it shows the two hair mentions early on in the video. These easily could have been done post-fuck up. Also note the unpainted interior. Not planned, maybe. Planned... maybe. Either way, Jeff is a great comedian and recovers decently on this one; but ONLY decently.

If you have the dvd, try watching the special features part where they show what went into making Melvin. He was in a bit of a rush to complete it for the show, which explains the unfinished underside of the wig.

Not to mention Jeff says himself that he planned on it and hopes that it went over well with the audience watching the dvd.
