Update: Scientology's objection was rejected and UNADFI will participate. Also rejected was a total of NINE QPCs (Priority Question of Constitutionality) filed by the cult.
Then, what happened next was truly amazing. The cult's entire defence team and defendants had a fit, walked out and abandoned the trial. So, as it is now, the appeal trial (apart from high court appeals it works more like Re-Trial there) will continue in their absence, meaning the original conviction will likely stand.

The original viticms have withdrawn (the remaining one in the original trial had received a refund and also withdrew). It's like a Mafia pay off . The remaining plaintiff is the National Council of the Order of Pharmacists.
UNADFI (National Union of Associations for the Defense of Families and the Individual) has finally been admitted to represent the victims, Scientology undertook a last maneuver to attempt to get rid of Olivier Morice, attorney for the anti-cult association.
