  • best knock ever in oneday cricket.

also I like the Shri Krishna in the background.

  • if I'm not mistaken,India was in deep trouble with 5 wickets down and only 17 runs on the board.

this mighty 'himalayan man' came in and played one of the most innings in the annals of World Cup.

no live recording was available as the BBC was on strike!

  • this guy better then every body

  • Mitchell Johnson ftw!!!

  • Dear jimwhy,

Present figures of Jacques Kallis is good, but to make a point, he is predominantly a batting allrounder, that is a batsman who can bowl.

And he is the main strike bowler of his side. By saying so I am not belittling him anyway. But Kapil is probably the ONLY INDAIN SPEEDSETER to play cricket. And also you have to consider that Kapil mostly bowled in dead Indian pitches. But Jack had a lot of other options. And Kapil is an attacking batsman which Jack is not.

  • Which is why Jacques (not Jack, get your spelling right) is more suited to Test cricket and Kapil is more suited to One-dayers. =D

  • Kapil dev !!!! A TRUE LAGEND. Top class.

  • wow--look at mohinder amarnath...the guy has aged.

  • wht an all time inspiring inings by a great player..

  • Dear dboy0189,

Probably you dont know anything about cricket. Zimbabwe was then a good side. Its because of the political problems they have become like this. Anyway no problem whether shits agree or not. Kapil is the best all rounder to play cricket. 434 wickets (217 of them in Indian dust bowl, can any fast bowler even dream of this?) 5000+ runs. Have you got anyone with such figures?

Go and learn about cricket then come back to post, or else keep off.

  • what about Jacques Kallis im not sure on his figures but he would be up there

  • an amazing knock played by an amazing player ....sad no recording due to BBC strike

  • The match situation was more important. India had lost quick early wickets and this was the same Zimbabwe with Rawson and Duncan Fletcher (2 very capable bowlers) in its ranks that defeated Australia earlier in that tournament. That's what makes the knock great.

  • Listen son, I know exactly which country you belong to and what is your agenda in speaking nonesense about a great cricketer here. I could have stooped to your level and called your country names just like you people do, but I pride myself in knowing better. And fortunately, for your sake, my parents bothered to give me an education.

That is why you wouldn't see me posting nonesense on Wasim Akram and Imran Khan videos. In fact, I admire them as great players!

  • It is the best knock in a one-day game EVER. Not even a double-hundred in one-day can top Kapil's effort considering the pressure of the situation he played in. It's unfortunate that there is no video recording of this great event.

  • Another great Kapil knock was a 100* in 95 balls against Roberts, Holding, Garner and Marshall in 82/83.. He followed it up with a more strokeful 98 in Antigua against 3 of the demons.

On his day, he could tear apart the best attacks and trust me, they don't come better than Roberts and co.!

  • i agree man im sick of these racist comments they are untrue and ruin your mood of watching cricket

  • wel said mate

  • one of the greatest one day knock ever..ofcourse the greatest one day knock by an indian by far....no one even comes closer

  • Yes this is the Innings that changed the fate of cricket in India..Remember till that time Hockey was ruling.. so all present cricketers should be thankful to Kapil and his men..

  • cool the innings that changed the indian cricket , my fav player
