  • Where exactly in the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers

does someone say Must Not Sleep?

  • The beginning sample of horns is from Blade Runner.

  • Note to people using Windows Movie Maker

Just because you CAN use visual effects, doesn't mean you HAVE to use visual effects...

  • I just recently discovered this genius lyricist, and only to this day have i had no regrets... I now wish i had heard of him sooner.

  • The sax part comes from a song by Vangelis, called "Blade Runner Blues" - I can see how the other guy woulda got em confused

  • @grizamaluke The synth at the very beginning, however, IS from Blade Runner.

  • i milk my habitat for almost everything i want, and still i can feel this pitfall in my gut

  • Aesop Canibus Illogic Sage Francis Saul Williams top 5

  • WHAT IS THAT SAX SAMPLE!? Awesome

  • @headbangaboogie1 - It's off of Bladerunner, the movie with Harrison Ford, and cyborgs

  • @BugsMoran no man i heard that whole bladerunner shit there was no sax on it

  • TY AESOP

  • hey this is a track that brings back memories if your new to aesop you need to pay extra attention to his metophor exmple" i pluck the pedals of a classic blode rose on at a time"

  • get those goosebumps when i listen to aes. to think of that, i only get feeling when i listen to aes. a lyrical high, its orgasmic... love it

  • you have several errors in the lyrics

  • The beginning of that first verse is fucking sick

  • love the bladerunner samples in this dope

  • Invasion of the Body Snatchers!

Aesop Rock's one hell of a rapper

  • go type in "ecg - bullshit and fairy tales" if you like this kind of underground shit.

  • ..must not sleep

    ..must warn others.....

  • @theInfamous3 i just realized aesop has those two lines tattooed on each forearm

  • I love rough, unfinished versions of songs.

  • Must not sleep must warn others

Trust blocks creep where the dust storm hovers

I milk my habitat for almost everything I want

Sometimes I take it all and still can't feel this pitfall in my gut

And I'm like must not sleep must warn others

Trust blocks creep where the dust storm hovers

I'm trying to walk on top of sunshine

But it's ridiculous at times that's why I tore 'em with this warning

  • Aesop's beats kind of remind me of MF Doom's to an extent. his older stuff, as Madivillian.

It's just because it's "something different".

  • The madvillain beats were actually made by Quasimoto if I'm not mistaken.

  • madlib

  • madlib is lord quas

  • yeah but madlib's beat are different than Quas' beat.

  • uhmm... but it's the same person. The only reason his name is Quas' is that he actually rhymes over his own beat. Whereas Madlib is his "beats only" moniker... so how are the beats different?

  • I just think that the beats he makes with Madlib's name are less fucked up than the one with Quas. I mean, Quas are like psychedelic and shit.

  • You guys are both trippin.

  • i see what your saying madlib is to quas as doom is to vik

  • why do people from the 70`s consider music from their age the best ever.. because they were all on "drugs". i say you can fuck yourself up worse popping pills(anti-depressants, relaxatives? shit like that) than by smoking buds. im not into taking acid, cause that shit is with you for life, one way or the other, and coke is just a very expensive ego-trip. fuck that. i just want to smoke my weed in peace and sip some brew. whatever anyone else does, is their business :)

    p`s

  • to each his own

  • @justSELF Different music geners are different. They think theirs is the best the same way you think yours is the best. It was played for them and matched them like the music from your generation is played for you and matchs you. 1 thing to notice is that music is good in any generation. You have to listen without bias and give in to the sound. and you dont really know much bout drugs bra. But keep smoken nig expand your mind

  • @d2thh725

Well, the music "genre" i listen to is fairly broad. I have been blessed with a circle of friends that bring in a large variety of different things(and styles of music!). So i`m sort of well rounded in that sense? I love Pink Floyd, even Led Zeppelin is great on some occasions, hell, even Queen.. Then again i was heavily into drum & bass music at some point. Yes, Hip-hop music will always be my main thing, just like Mary Jane. Yes indeedy Breiks, Soul and Funk too. Too damn short!

  • @d2thh725

Hell, my momma raised me on some 40`s - 50`s rock and roll and I still lost my heart to the rhythm when I first head De La Soul and N.W.A.. I know its a big difference between the two, but that was the first time I heard rap/hip-hop music in 89 maybe? what ever :)

you say I dont know much about drugs? Well, im only willing to share this much. What i really meant was that taking legal "medicine" is sometimes much worse to you that smoking an illegal substance from the earth. peace

  • @justSELF fair enf

  • I think this is one of his best, what do u guys think the lyrics mean/ what does this song stand for?

  • I had almost forgot about this one, yet I think it's one of his finest. Thanks for reminding me.

Ever seen his 'Must not sleep/Must warn others' tattoo? it rocks. :D

  • this is great

  • damn, people are just now getting scared... hmm.

  • dope song

  • i have a question, does anyone know did aesop rock ever do drugs and if so which ones

  • Pretty sure he took some ibuprofen for a headache once. Hope that helps.

  • lmao ok...

  • listen to "Greatest Pac-Man Victory"...that'll point you in the right direction.

  • @habanerobuck

you are not lying brother...you know this cat's dome just throbs.

  • uhh, Aesop talks about drugs all over FCDFK. Tons of drugs. Says pockets like maracas that'll shake when he steps....usa on a ketamine disaster.... ceratonin weekends were merely comedic hazing...all in different songs......druuuuuugs.

  • He makes TONS of references to LSD, Marijuana, and coke. From the sounds of his songs, he always paints coke as evil though. "It's that warriors vs. baseball fury element that glitches rotary sensory development." Acid fucks up your rotary sensory development. "Peter piper pick peppers, and run rock rhymes, aesrock mighta smoked one too many dimes in his time."

  • Although he's probably done a variety of drugs, the only ones I know that he still uses are ganja and retro video games.

  • he smokes bud...go to cage myspace page there is a vid of aesop and cage building robots and ace is takin tokes in that vid

  • Must not sleep must warn others

  • RAd

  • Love this shit.

  • Illest underground emcee of all time. When I first heard him I was like "what the fuck is this dude on and how does he come up with this shit???!!".

  • psychedelics and pot :))))))

  • Life, actually.

  • this moron messed up damn near all the lyrics

  • bit at the end is sheer bliss.

  • aesop always has a killer flow this is one of my favorites

  • doesn't he say "Trust FLOCKS creep..." makes more sense.

  • nah, it's blocks

  • r u sure.

  • some of those lyrics are way off.

  • My daytime's on some, yes sir, okay sir, right away sir. Sir do you mind if I breathe sir oh you do? Well excuse me sir fuck you.I breathe slow!!!

  • Point; I guess I could spare a splash for a couple of heads

Counterpoint; during my famine I never got broke your bread

    Ill

  • such an amazing song, lyrics are great. Aesop has the best rhymes ever.

  • ill man, nice job putting the lyrics together too. keep up the good work

  • Grats to you for posting this.

  • i'm pretty sure he says We'll let dante decide which ring i'm on"

(like the divine comedy eight circles of hell) not "where the daunted decide which ring i'm on"

  • thats what i was thinking when i heard it.

  • anyone notice the vangelis samples from "blade runner"

    pwned

  • YEAH!! I was watching that the other day and was like HOLY CRAP! I know this! I had always wondered where these samples came from. Simply awesome.
