what is wrong with everyone. Man, Chinatown Wars on my iPod Touch sux ass! Not because of the game, the game itself is great! It's the problem Apple failes to mention when they advertise the iPhone/iPod Touch as a gaming device... the battery sux! I mean I play Chinatown Wars for 45 minutes on my iPod with full battery and after I got like half left. Yeah, nice game console you have there, Apple.
BTW, the interactive factor of GTA on the iPhone makes it as fun as it is. The fact that you utilize the touch screen for breaking into the Ammunation trucks, scratchers, getting out of cars, breaking into cars, getting out of the water, various missions, etc. It may not have as good graphics, but it compensates with fantastic gameplay for arguably the best game all aroung I've ever seen on a "mobile" device.
oh yeah! My Iphone is sooooo uber cool! I can chat and call and write and watch and play games with stupid onscreen controls and........................dead - battery sucked dry within minutes. I think your better off with a normal mobile phone that you can use nearly a week without recharching and a cfw-psp for gaming. :-D

psp is epic fail with the umd minidiscs... games for the ipod are exactly how games on the go should be like. I dont wanna play an epic 80hour story rpg on my mobil device, i want cool arcady fun games that you can play for 20min when you go to work or something. And they're very cheep too. Only thing they could improve is battery life for gaming. While music/video its very nice but when you use the touchscreen all the time in a game it runs out a little too fast.

I'm lovin' the iPhone version. The driving isn't as good as it is on the PSP, but I'm definitely won't be taking the PSP with me wherever I go like I do with the iPhone.
Rockstar should look into the driving methods used in maybe other iPhone driving games like Real Driving and get a sense how it should be done on the iPhone
One more thing... Car steering on iphone is preety bad, compared to PSP/DS... Maybe they should add option to steering by accelerometer like in Payback :(
the DS version ist without any doubt the more enjoyable version, the controls are unbeatable. The PS version looks better and the ipod version is the most affordable with graphics close to PSP.
Here in Australia, $69.95 for this game on the PSP or DS, $12.99 on the iPhone. Doesn't take long to add up over multiple games!
The PSP version is clearly the best, despite the lower screen resolution. I'm hoping Rockstar bring the character audio back in the iPhone version in an update, it needs it. Already it's the top grossing iPhone games titles. I'm hoping this makes other publishers take note and produce more high end games for the iPod Touch / iPhone platform.
Yeah, but the DS version has much better controls, second screen is very well utilized. If I had to choose, I would pick DS version over iPhone/iPod (unfortunately, I haven't played PSP version) But I'm sure every version is pretty good in comparsion to other games for respective "handhelds".

how quiet Liberty City is without the pedestrian chatter. You can go rampaging through the streets and it seems everyone is yelling at you on the DS and PSP. It creates a noticeable lack of atmosphere on the iPhone when switching back from the other two versions.
But seriously dude, dont get me wrong gta is one of the BEST iphone games , i play it most of the times, since my cousin has my psp

The textures in the PSP version are more crisp and detailed, higher quality textures
psp features more vivid color better shadows, lighting, and reflections
Psp lighting is superb look really good in cars and street lights
iphone textures are rather blurry, and in scenes when the game zooms in to the (i.e when your are getting your guns training with Ling) the iphone version looks very pixelated and low res. Despite the fact of its higher res screen haha

but guess what developers wont program ipod3g/iphone 3gs exclusive games yet
there isn't a single game yet on the app store that fully utilizes the ipod 3g hardware.
as the will leave out 90% of the idevice demography
the only game that PARTIALLY uses the new hardware is need for speed shift

Mini games on the psp and iphone is pretty much the same they were designed for a stylus, not buttons or fingers.

of course this was a game meant for the ds, rockstar only ported the game to the psp and iphone taking advatage of the features of each device

most of the good worthy iphone games are either multi platform handled tittles
or really good gameloft ripoffs of console tittles
don't get me wrong, i love what gameloft is doing, NOVA (hallo ripoff) its really GOOD
all the other games are crap, java games ported to the iphone
or good minigames
most of the iphone games have less content than the psp/ds versions are awkward to use due to the lack of physical controls

Just because the itunes app store has over 22.000 apps flooded with fart apps and what not that doesn't mean they are all games that can match the current generation of Handel consoles

Even the cut scenes images (you know the ones with the subtitles at the bottom) look better on the psp

DS: Controls are OK. Has touch screen mini games. Poor graphics. Fast loading times.
PSP: Superb widescreen graphics and good sounds. IMO the best controls. No touch screen mini games.
iPhone: Good graphics, better than DS worse than PSP. OK sounds. Poor controls in comparison to the other two. Has touch screen mini games and the most portable.
IMO the iPhone version gives you the best of the PSP and the DS versions and it is cheaper. However if i was to choose one id choose the PSP version.

PSP version had the greatest graphics in this game although yeah the iphone one looked better than the DS, it doesn't match the psp graphics
The psp version has much better lightning and shadows, better textures, it has more vivid colors, even the cut scene images looked more high res on the psp, and of course it feels better on the psp 4.3inch wide screen.
The iphone version, needs to improve controls, awkward to get use to , specially the driving and enemy targeting

The PSP version is definitely the BEST version of all in my opinion, it had more content than the ds and iphone version and the best graphics.
content (i want to be wrong about this one, but lets face it, iphone games usually have less content than the psp and ds, besides the psp version was over 800mb and the ds even with low res graphics was 250mb i think)

I'm lovin' the iPhone version. The driving isn't as good as it is on the PSP, but I'm definitely won't be taking the PSP with me wherever I go like I do with the iPhone.
Rockstar should look into the driving methods used in maybe other iPhone driving games like Real Driving and get a sense how it should be done on the iPhone

Here in Australia, $69.95 for this game on the PSP or DS, $12.99 on the iPhone. Doesn't take long to add up over multiple games!
The PSP version is clearly the best, despite the lower screen resolution. I'm hoping Rockstar bring the character audio back in the iPhone version in an update, it needs it. Already it's the top grossing iPhone games titles. I'm hoping this makes other publishers take note and produce more high end games for the iPod Touch / iPhone platform.

Yeah, but the DS version has much better controls, second screen is very well utilized. If I had to choose, I would pick DS version over iPhone/iPod (unfortunately, I haven't played PSP version) But I'm sure every version is pretty good in comparsion to other games for respective "handhelds".
