Beautiful routine - clean, precise and easy on the eye. B&B routine was more dramatic but it looked too frenetic and a bit over the top. Think the judges gave 1st place to B&B as it was their final amateur competition - bit like they did with Katarina Witt who should not have beaten Liz Manley here or at the Olympics. K+P should have won Gold here. This is my favourite programme of theirs.

No way.... sorry but beside Bestemianova Bukin they just are colourless!

B&B were too frenetic-besides Bukin Looked like Frankenstein on occasion. Sorry but K&P were better.

But technically, these 2 were far superiour to Bestemianova & Bukin. B&B had a lot of dramatic snap action but if you look carefully, you'll see quite a few open handholds and a ton of pushing (sometimes from their toe-picks). Klimova & Ponomarenko had such amazing technical abilities but they made difficult choreography look so effortless whereas B&B seemed to specialize in making the easy look difficult (although it shouldn't have fooled the judges).

This couple should have won. Sergei IMHO- was the best male ice dancer next to Chris Dean.He always presented her so beautifully. They should have won 1n 1986 as well.
