  • Yep, just a guy with no face and a black suitcase walking into a populated building, nothing suspicious about that! (seariously though, nice vid.)

  • @charmandurrful i honestly thought brandon or i were going to get shot while filming these scenes. but i a man with no face, in a hat and trench mysteriously leaving a suitcase in the middle of the area isnt that scary these days?

  • @blinky500 Eh, I think people only tackle minorities when they do stuff like this. (America!)

  • Thank you for making this. I love the Question and think he doesn't get enough credit, so I'm glad that there's someone like you doing a tribute to him. ;D

  • Any last words question?....Rorschach sucks....

  • I would love to see an entire film like this.

  • are you going to do a rorchach fan film

  • @iaustineify no. last i checked dr. manhattan 'sploded him.

  • I love how you portray the Question. So much personality!

  • Im considering on doing a question cosplay for the chicago comic con and worried nobody would notice me.....

  • Good job. I'm impressed. Question is a smarter, more complex character than most.

  • How do you do this mask?

  • @Alfilsinmiedo watch my HOW TO video.

  • @blinky500 ok, but that didn`t answer my question...

    Thanks

  • @Alfilsinmiedo you asked how i did the question mask, i made a HOW TO MAKE A QUESTION MASK video. that should answer your question.

  • @blinky500 Yeah, I saw the vid to make sure. It WAS very informative, so idk what Alfilsinmiedo was talkin about. One thing though, flip the kitanana behind your computer monitor, that's disrespectful to the blade, you want it so it's bowing upward not downward.

  • is this a real movie

  • @littletinybug no its a fan film.

  • Who the hell gave Slenderman a gun?

  • wait... did the question just walk into that building with his mask on?

  • Wait wait wait....Why is The Question consulting what Rorschach would do when The latter is based off the former?

Also, Rorschach is not an advocate of justice, but vengeance? That's a terrible person for a mind like Sage's to try to link with.

  • @Kholdstarezero in the early 90s series, vic actually read the watchmen novel while traveling. it was an inside joke for DC fans. in the story, vic took on some of rorshach's approaches to crime and ultimately got his ass kicked. he then said "rorshach sucks". it was a very funny moment.

  • @blinky500 also originally there was no Rorshach in the Watchmen Team it was meant to be the Question but there was some sort of problem that some of the other writers had with the Question Killing as Rorshach did. So if things had gone different The Question would have Rorshachs Spot.

  • Please tell me The Question isn't killing those people, he is a hero, heros arn't suposed to kill people. I haven't read the comics so maybe that is something the Question does. I don't know I just don't like it. I didn't finish the film so maybe he mentions something about them being darts or something.

  • @57stewie no he didnt kill them. in the script, they were supposed to be tranq darts, but i flubbed the line when recording the dialog and didnt notice till it was too late.

  • @blinky500 ok good, cause I hate when superheroes kill bad guys. It is not good. You should make more of these the Question is awesome. Does this branch off into a different video series or have you not done anything with it yet?

  • @57stewie no. currently its dead. havent been able to continue it.

  • @57stewie even if he messed up the line here Question will kill if its needed he doesnt always kill but he will he does what is needed and there is nothing wrong with that in my opinion hero or not

  • Please tell me The Question isn't killing those people, he is a hero, heros arn't suposed to kill people. I haven't read the comics so maybe that is something the Question does. I don't know I just don't like it.

  • I liked it, but I wish he had kept the coat on while fighting it would have been 100% for me, I give it 93%. which is real good, because I am really harsh on things when I critique them. That was the only thing I had wrong with it, also if it's a low budget movie, you could have gotten a film student to do compos, if we lived in the same area I would have helped out with it.. Would've made that bomb look like it was part o the actual clip itself.

  • @IlIlIIIIlllIlllIlIII well we had a zero dollar budget for this and im not in film school nor do i know any film students. so i had to make due with what i had.

  • @blinky500 ~ For someone who hasn't seen film school, you did very well. I caught the reference to the bullets being special, although I couldn't hear the actual word "tranq" I figured out what you meant.

  • hey chris, where do you buy your prop guns? or are these real safteys-on unloaded guns?

  • its funny how the public overall doesnt really no about the question, yet noone seems to notice a faceless man walking through the streets

  • dude you look like him, NOT bad at all though

  • This is excellent work. I was suprised by how much this felt like the Question, the tone the atmosphere and even the voice.

  • I really like this Question fanfilm, I'm a huge fan of JLU and Question is my favorite. I love the way he decides to go rescue the Blue Beetle. I also love the way he gives a nod to Rorshach. I do have one Question though (no pun intended) where was this filmed at and how did you manage to get permission to film in places like that?

  • What would mister Rorschach do? Love it! What was the budget for these kind of films?

  • @astroblackable less than 50 bucks.

  • @astroblackable loved the rorschach part the q is more or a bit more logic but Rorschach pure epicness love the film man make more

  • Looks like Castiel lol

  • So...a card and a lock to open a door...very futuristic!

  • Great Job. I'm impressed you got to film in nice buildings without people bothering you due to the mask. The choreography was good and the sound fx killer. I like the Rorschach nod, I get it, hope the fanboys do. Keep these fan films coming.

  • I rather like this, you do very good work,as such in the previous part Question was right they were and are partners in another life since Nite-Owl was based on Ted Kord's Blue Beetle and Rorshach was based on Question.XD

  • So did the question in the comics use guns ? I know it must sound like a stupid question and no that was not a pun.

  • @twiggy345 i dont think so, i took a few creative liberties with this story.

  • @blinky500 But in the 2002 Question miniseries, he DID kill when he say necessary.

  • @VsxFedora good to know.

  • @blinky500 Like changing the entire character? I'm not sure that's a "creative liberty." I think that's a "Dark Knight Fuck Up."

  • @batmanownsyourass apart from him toting a gun, which he has done in the past, it was pretty spot on. hell, question tried to kill lex luthor in JLU because he thought it would save the world.

  • @twiggy345

Yeah, he did. Not all the time, but he did.

  • Gee that was better the rubbish you get from so called [professional writers) Grant Morrison,Bendis and all other guys that Marvel and DC Comics keeps throwing at us as so great.I've read stuff and it's mostly crap

  • you are the man

  • Didn't Question try to be lake Rorschach in the comics at one point? and didn't it cause him to get his ass handed to him? lol

  • @Razorwind01 yes. thats why i put that reference in the film.

  • @Razorwind01 did you know Rorschach was baised off of the question

  • @NathanLStanfield Yeah, that's why the joke exists. Moore wanted to use the charlton caracters but couldn't, so created his own versions of them.

  • The Question was first people, and I love Rorschach, but he really doesnt hold a candle to him. Watch Some Justice league unlimited

  • Im tired of hearing this over and over. Allan Moore wanted to use some of the characters already created by for D.C comics for Watchmen but they said no! Moore then created his own characters. Rorschach was based by question and his methods. Not the other way around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tell me about it. lol.

  • knew it he was created after the dude from watchmen

  • no. in fact there was an issue in the question's comic series where he reads watchmen, the joke was he was reading a book about a character based on himself.

  • @ShadowRockerMan no watchmen came out in the 80's the question has been around since the 60's its just that teh hardboiled mystery detective has been used for so long that the two get mixed up all the time

  • whered you get the mask?

  • the question is simalar to roraschach

  • ya think? actually, rorschach was based on the question.

  • i heard that rorschach was based of bat man but what you seem to be right they should team up

  • I remember reading, actually in the preface of a Question comic, that the Watchmen comic was originally supposed to star Batman, The Question, Superman, Wonderwoman, and Lex Luthor. Alan Moore was largely inspired by Steve Ditko's heroes, which were at the time, hardcore in comparison to other comics.

At the time of Watchmen's commission by DC, they had acquired the rights to Ditko's characters. Because of the recent acquisition, DC felt uneasy corrupting their characters in Moore's story.

  • close. he wanted blue beetle, captain atom, question, thunderbolt, peacemaker and nightshade- all the charlton heroes.

  • ya but thay got the look from Mr.A

  • It is also in poetic reference to Ditko's other, similar character, (The Question) as in "question and answer" (i.e. often shortened in American English to "Q and A").

  • Yeah and I heard that his JLU real looks were based on Rorschach, XD

  • @TheAwesomedude591 otherway round.

  • I find the gun kind of... out of place. Vic is usually more of a hand-to-hand fellow.

  • There is decent fight choreography @ approximately 2:08 and as for the gun use, it is mentioned throughout the film that things must be done differently (if not improvised), for the better outcome of the entire situation. All in all, I think these films are just and incredible in various aspects. Excellent work! I only hope to see more in this series from Mr. Notarile.

  • I remember a Issue of the Question, where he actually reads Watchmen and desides to follow the Rorschach model. Vic get the crap kicked out of him and at the end of the issue says 'Rorschach sucks.' One of my favorite Question moments right there.

  • has the question ever used a gun?

  • during a short series in the 90's.

  • What about The New Blue Beetle

  • what about him? this is a ted kord movie. jaime has his own gig.

  • He is still a Blue Beetle

  • yeah but he's not ted kord and this is a ted kord movie.

  • Atleast mention what happened to the Beetle

  • nothing happened to him. he lives in el paso. this takes place in nyc.

  • i like rorshac but the qustion being older has aspecial place inside me lol. not to mention rorshac was based off of the qustion

  • Did you guy's know that The Question predates Rorschach by about 19 years?

  • yeah i did.

  • If I remember correctly, in comics, What Would Mr. Rorschach do ends up with him being badly beaten up.

  • this is one hundred percent correct thank you for expressing this because the qustion beats rorshac by a million times

  • Question's mighty fit!

also the fight choreography was pretty good, and the writing was fantastic!

  • Good job

  • This is truly awesome. By the way, the actor that played Vic, was his hair really red, what it colored, or was it a wig. I don't mean to sound stupid, but his hair looked REALLY red and it didn't match his eyebrows.

  • his hair is naturally black. i painted his hair red for that one shot.

  • Cool.

  • lmao what would mister Rorschach do?

  • Oh I forgot one thing....The Question reading Watchmen? Was that a reference to the "The Question" series in the '80's? In one issue he read Watchmen on a plane and used Rorschach's brutality in fighting.

  • yes

  • THIS was GREAT! The filming, acting, special effects, costumes...This is better than what you would expect for a fan film.

  • The Question used a gun once in the comics to kill a guy and save a little girl....but killing the guy really bothered him afterward.

  • really nice, again. didn't much like the question's trench coat when he was standing in the cemetery, but that's personal preference more than anything.

on to the third one. :]

  • Wow! u really got alot of talent. It almost seems like an actual t.v. show. 2 thumbs up

  • I would seriously go to the theater for this yeah not much action but great still

  • I don't understand why people criticize things like this. Anyone who would say an unkind word about the quality of a fanfilm of any kind almost certainly hasn't ever attempted to make one of their own. It can't be easy.

This film is excellent because it is made out of a sense of enjoyment of character and fun.

I think your work is great, and I enjoy watching the actors you get as well.

  • thank you.

  • @candiduscorvus Frankly, you have to give some of these guys credit for the Attempt. And some of them are just plain incredible when you consider they don't have Million Dollar Budgets.

  • Cool video......nicely made. I'm a huge "Question" fan. I have only one complaint......"The Question" does not use a gun.....that was kinda lame.

  • sometimes the question has to take extreme measures. and if youre going up against a whole embassy, you cant go in there unarmed.

  • dude, even when the question went to assassinate lex luthor to stop a time loop, he didnt bring a gun. he didnt even bring a knife, or any other conventional weapon. he was going to use his TIE. his TIE!

he aint dick tracy. he doesnt go in guns-a-blazing. he more subtle. sophisticated. if he really wanted to take down a whole building, he would do it in a smart, tactical manner that would make sure to avoid any direct conflict.

in short, the question dont use guns.

  • to each their own.

  • i suppose...

but for a live action "question" video, it really didnt do it justice.

acting was good, and everything else was well done, but that dont make it a good movie.

  • good acting and good everything else usually does make for a good movie. if him using a gun is the only problem you have, that doesnt make the movie bad. in fact, by comparrision of most other comic movies, i think i scored in the 90th percentile for accuracy.

  • ok now your just self promoting it, which bugs the hell out of me.

and when i say "everything else" i mean visually, the costumes were alright, you guys seemed to be well corigraphed. but honestly, going back to what i said earlier, a film could have the best visual effects and top notch actors, but still be shit.

because, the character (that it was based off of mind you) doesnt do the comic justice. you got rid of the overcoat and hat then made him use a gun like every other action hero.

  • DUDE! didnt you read the title? this is part 2? there was a part 1 and a part 3. did you see those? i gets his coat back. and if you know anything about question you would know that in the 80's there was a time when he didnt have the hat or the trench coat. i did Q justice, all versions of him, from his charlton look, to his 80's look to his denny o'neal look, to him even reading the watchmen novel. dont knock my film unless you know all there is to know. my version of Q is just as close as JLU.

  • so what if he used a gun? clearly the question isnt above killing if he was going to kill luthor. with that being said, why not have him use a gun for one specific mission? all in all, does it even matter? you name one other question movie out there that put as much story, and and effort as i did in making this.

  • ... more self promotion....

lol dude, calm down. it was a good movie, fine, but you have to admit that im not the only one who has a problem with the gun. when critisism of a specific aspect of your film comes from more than one source, you should probably listen, man. im just saying, if you plan to do more of these, you should really get used to it, and better yet, learn from it.

  • well first off you werent judging the film as a whole, which was unfair to begin with. secondly, its a difference of oppinion. i think he would use a gun if he felt he had to. the question is a man of necessity. and yes, i will defend my work and my beliefs with every breath i have. i am proud of this series. it is one of my better pieces. so yeah, i am used to people critiquing. but people are not used to me critiquing back.

  • ps- there isnt anything to learn from. the movie was well made. the fx were good. the shots were good. the story was good. and apart from a difference of opinion, there are no technical flaws to correct. thus, there isnt anything for me to learn from. furthermore, there is nothing for me to get used to. just agree to disagree.

  • .... did you honestly just block me? what the hell? you honestly cant take critisism?

and dude im going to ask you this one more time.....

please stop self promoting your own films.... its REALLY unbecoming of a film maker to act this way to the publics view on his own films. and what youre doing is just plain childish. saying your film is perfect? blocking me? really?

if you wanted only good reviews, you shouldnt have put it in public domain. cant take it? dont go into film making.

  • NO I DIDNT BLOCK YOU! but thank you for beiing an asshole and accusing me!

  • strange that i couldnt reply at all last night, every time i tried, it just canceled out the comment. just like if someone was blocked.

course, if this comment goes through, you probably just unblocked me since you probably werent expecting that i would just create a new account. also, you probably wanted to disavow that you did block me when i accused you, so you probably unblocked me.

but interesting that i couldnt reply at all, and yet you say that you did not block me....

  • if i blocked you, i would have deleted this whole conversation. but i didnt, which means i didnt block you.

  • ok, i suppose now im just trying to mess with you.

but still, i will say this. i LIKE the question, and i LIKE your videos. i just have a problem with the gun. like a lot of people do.

dude, you seem like a nice guy, but you really need to learn how to take criticism better, especially if you plan to make more of these. and you said there was nothing to learn....

  • thank you for enjoying the movie. i know how to take criticism, but a lot of people dont know when you let go of something. the gun thing was a minor thing. you said your peace about it. i noted that and responded with my peace. i wont change the film. i made this 2 years ago. will it effect a future Q film, maybe. but like i said, agree to disagree about the gun thing.

  • DUDE! I was reading the watchmen novel and rorschach was talking then I heard him being mentioned!you really should do something with rorschach

  • where the hell you did you get this vid from? or did you make it?

  • i made it.

  • rorschach was actually inspired by the question... :P

  • yes i know. and niteowl was inspired by blue beetle. all the watchmen characters were inspired by the charlton heroes. thats kinda why i put that rorschach bit in there.

  • @Anonymous102492 and Mr. A. Both characters inspired Rorschach.

  • I hate that he has a gun i wanted to see some more hand to hand

  • Love the old heroes. Well done. looks like you had fun

  • This is one of the most well-made fan videos I've ever seen. Serious kudos! This is a near perfect interpretation of Q, and nice nod to the 80s there with the Rorschach bit.

  • Liked it. Really did. I'm a Question fan, so yeah...

...Liked how he had a copy of Watchmen in the car. If I remember correctly, in an issue, he was reading the thing...

    ...So nice little detail, there.

  • Hollow point bullets. Thats harsh.

  • Cool but he didn't need to get rid of the jacket or the hat..

  • he took it off to fight. he's done that before. read your comics.

  • Woah there champ...

I don't read "The Question"......as a matter of fact before today I haven't even heard of him....no need to get snippy..

  • well it would help you understand the content better if you knew about the character. im not getting snippy, just pointing out the obvious. these are films about character with 40+ years of history behind them. a little homework never hurt anyone.

  • All I'm saying is that it was dumb to see him take his jacket off whether or not it was what the character sometimes did in the comic...pointing out the so called obvious isn't obvious to anyone who does not know the content....40+ years wow I never heard of him, and I know my comics..and I don't need to do homework based on whether or not I made a comment as to whether he was silly to take his jacket off or not, as that's a general remark..

  • it makes perfect sense for him to take off a big bulky trench coat when he's going to do some serious stealth action. i mean seriously. wouldnt you take off your coat if youre going to fight someone? you get better range of motion.

  • Maybe for stealth I guess but as long as there's nothing it can snag on, or knock over it's quiet regardless, I myself have a trenchcoat and it's pretty quiet...But to be honest a trench coat is a pretty free flowing garment, Fighting in one can actually aid the person if he knows how to use it properly,

  • for example. A thug throws a punch and narrowly misses, The Question could then wrap the base of his coat around that thug's arm the one that just missed, pin that arm and get in a good punch of his own....additionally he could use his coat to bat away things like throwing knives, or make it that the knife sticks in the coat and not him, and what about gadget's?

  • I'm not familiar with the character but does he use firearms, or does he utilize any form of technological device other then the binary gas which holds his mask on? his coat makes it perfect to hold all these devices (or a few small, light ones) he also loses a bit of his persona when he loses his hat and coat is mainly my point

  • That said he's a pretty cool, character, reminds me of Rorschach (although I guess it's the other way around), Mr. A, The Green Hornet, The Blank, The Shadow, or some similar character, I'll have to start reading the comic now...lol

  • Rorschach would probably ask what would The Question do.

  • lol.

  • Rorschach was actually inspired by the Question.

  • yeah i know. thats why i put that watchmen gag in there. the in the comics question actually reads the watchmen graphic novel.

  • And gets his ass handed to him because of it. I do remember him disliking Roarshack at the end of that comic.

  • lol. if i remember correctly, i believe he said "rorshach sucks." i found that very funny at the time.

  • I think I love you.

  • lol. thank you.

  • Blame me for the shaky camera, although it does, in my humble opinion, add to the hectic feel of escaping a Checkmate Embassy.

  • Once again, brilliant. Spot on voice, and I love the "Watchmen" name drop. That is SO Question.

  • What music is playing as the alarm is going off after he sets off the bomb?

  • Actually, Silk Spectre's pretty much Black Canary. I guess Moore just didn't find Nightshade very interesting.

I mean it's hard to find any similarity besides Spectre and Nightshade are both girls.

P.S:- In what book did Beetle turn up at Wonder Woman's trial? Or is it just for the movie?

  • Manhunter issue 29 i believe. it was a shapeshifter called Everyman, sent by Circe to pose as Ted Kord. the issue was what sparked this series but unfortunately issue 30 of Manhunter was so unsatisfying to me, it turned me off to the whole story ark.

  • Didn't think the Question shot people! Saw him more as a Fox Mulder type.

    Great movie

  • And Now I have to go and buy every Question comic I can find plus Watchmen.

  • buy them you wont be dissapointed great carachter best when he works alone .

  • "What would Mr. Rorschach do?" Great question for us Watchmen fans.

  • even better Pun as Rorschach was actually, intended on being The Question, before DC refused Moore the right to use silver age characters for the basis of Watchmen, it's pretty simple Dr. Manhattan is Captain Atom, Rorschach is The Question, Silk Spectre is Nightshade, The Comedian is the Peacemaker, Ozymandius is Thunderbolt, and Nite Owl is Blue Beetle. However, if u want to see the Question shine as the question read 52.

  • Oh, yes! I actually knew that and still have my silver age Charlton comics in my storage shed in my backyard, but it's really nice to see someone else who knows what original characters Alan Moore had intended to use.

Do you mean issue #52 of the Question? I must admit that I only have about a dozen or so of the Question and I am pretty sure that they were written by Denny O'Neil, but I'll pull my old collection and take a peak inside again. Thanks!

  • Ha no i was refering to the Combic book Series 52 by Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, and Mark Waid with layouts by Keith Giffen. It's obviously not quite the Charlton silver age Question, but of the newer things to which he has appeared it is a great persona, plus a bit of a dark twist u'll enjoy if your an old school fan specifically of the Comic book unknowns (like the Question)

  • My mistake and please understand that I don't pick up comic books anymore as I stopped when all of the shops in my home town went bust several years ago, but I did look in the Yellow Pages and there are new stores in town now. I loved Grant Morrison on Miracle Man and the Doom Patrol, but I never did like Keith Giffen's art. Thanks for the heads up!

  • is this supposed to be post crisis? or a fan made storyline?

  • post crisis spin off of 52 and countdown to infinite crisis.

  • I have a Question for you Chris, pun intended...lol. When your question said, "time to rethink my strategy, what would Mr. Rorschach do?". Did you mean Rorschach as in The Watchmen or Rorschach , as in saying time to get messy, like his style of art?:P

  • the watchmen character. you can see Q holding a watchmen graphic novel when he says that line too.

  • also in the comic book vic sage gets a watchmen comic during a trip and thinks rorschach is cool until he gets beaten and then he says rorschach is not cool coz he got caught while acting like him (however later he is saved by green arrow)

  • yeah thats what i based that scene on.

  • lol that would explain why i tought it seemed familiar xD (sorry my brain is an '86 model, it takes time to warm up xD )

  • What would Mr Rorshach do? I love it! Other than DK2 I haven't read much with The Question in. He's moved right up on my to do list!

  • hey man i have a question? Where did you get a faceless mask. or how did you make it. I so want one but i cant find one anywhere.

  • scroll down and read the past comments. i have answered this question a dozen other times.

  • o ok i found it in your other video. Tan mesh fabric and latex. I understand that but where and what kinda of latex. was it clear latex and clear tan latex. Also, was it difficult to see out of. Sorry about all the questions? i tend to do that. I guess thats why i like The Question so much

  • no its cool. its ben nye tan liquid latex. comes in a bottle and you paint it on. and use makeup to cover the edges.
