ok I'm going to settle this based on the music "the surfer song" that was also the main part of Tarintino's Pulp Fiction this is a reference to pulp fiction. It cannot be MIB (men in black) because space jam came out first. look it up. Not to mention the way they look at each other was the same way travolta and Samuel L Jackson did. any one still wanna argue or do you just want to shut up and enjoy the movie?
@Demonkitsun i do not lie. and i can prove it. my name is alexandra rudnick. my dad's name is steve mark rudnick and his writing partner is leo benvenuti. my dad was a comedian for about 15 years ( the steve and leo show) and this was his first movie. since then he has written two other movies and various television shows that include: the santa clause (only the first one) and Kicking & screaming. my dad wrote this movie about a year before i was born. i never lie. and im a girl. not a guy.
@Demonkitsun I didn't. I am writer too. And plus you won't find that info anywhere in the internet. trust me. i have tried. i know my dad. and plus i have been to the premiere of every movie of his except this one, so i have the excuse not to remember this part. we don't exactly watch the movies much anymore. i haven't seen Kicking & screaming in over three years and the Santa Clause in over four.
@StormofJade As far as I am concerned, it worries me that you need to prove to an anonymous person over the internet that your father was the one who raised you.
@Jeff0909090 There are more than one versions. And I hate to tell you but yes there is a "ha, ha, haaaaaaa" in the pulp fiction version, which Dick Dale recorded specifically for the movie.
jesus christ ... denzel washington in pulp fiction? i dont think so i mean what were you thinkin, "famous black actor :S famous black actor aah it MUST be denzel washington". and men in black in black in space jam?. an as for "the therockstars" thinkin its pump it - BEP, how old are you, 12? ....... your all a huge disgrace.
it's already on DVD... If there is a pulp fiction scene featured in Space Jam wich is a '96 movie i believe that Pulp Fiction (2-3 years older) can definitely be found on DVD...
I love this part in the movie. I know that when I have kids of my own, Loony Toons will be the staple cartoon. This stuff they have today is to regimented. Sure, it's educational, but it's also not giving kids a chance to dream about the impossible and the hilarious. I actually may just re-buy this movie on VHS for the nostalgia.
I think its a double parody. Adults will see a Pulp Fiction reference but kids will probably see a Men In Black reference (guys in black suits and sunglasses shooting at an alien). At least thats how I used to think of it.
Yeah, that's what i was saying. I guess they slip in those kind of gags so adults don't get bored when forced to watch with their kids ha ha. Kind of like the simpsons, has a lot of jokes kids won't get but a lot of simple dumb stuff too.
@blindfatkid23 who cares, i thought it was the most badass thing in the movie. it's more for the grownups to laugh at. you may find a lot of references to different things as one grows older.
I watched this movie when i was about 7. 5 Years later i watched Pulp Fiction. A year later i watched this for the first time in 6 years and i nearly pissed myself when the music started
When I was 12, we watched this in class. Everyone screamed that it was a men in black reference, as the movie had been released not long before. I facepalmed so hard. I was 12 and even I knew that it was a Pulp Fiction reference.
Do not judge so as not to be judged!Misirlou is an old greek folk-clor song...(Misirlou is a name of a woman).Dick Dale made a re-imagining of the song.
