  • i use all the ones you show, but ,sadly,ALL OF THESE CLAYS ARE ROCK HARD,and crumbeling by the time i buy them, and i,ve been the first person there when the shipping box was opened- there should be a DATE on the front ,for freshness.-i,ll try the primo soft.i live in the country, and hobby lobby about 140 mile round trip way.i may order by mail....thanks

  • tnx this is just what i needed

  • thank you soooo much and i agree with you on fimo soft

  • I just wanted to add that Premo actually calls the specialty clays (glitter, iridescent, translucent, etc) Premo Accents.

  • Thank you so much! I'm completely new to clay and your video was very helpful!

  • every kind is Sculpy brand except for Fimo.

    :) CC

  • opps i was not watching the vid enough

  • could you please make a tutorial on how to make a giraffe necklace, and dinosaur necklace? :)

  • For the one you think is too soft, roll it out, and stack it between sheets of paper for a while, to dry it out.

  • Were you Watvhing Ghost Adventures??? O-O Cuz I Heard That Noise..

  • actually premo has an effect brand- premo accents:)

  • thanks for your kind assistance,,,i appreciate it

  • in my country fimo is very hard. idk why but its real hard and it takes like an hour to condition it. and I'm visiting my cousins over here in the U.S. and sculpey 3 was really soft. i think fimo IS softer in America but not just where I live. I live in Japan and the fimo in Japan is terrible. I guess if I bought it here in the U.S. it would be soft :D

  • i like sculpey 3. its SUPER soft

  • do you bake sculpy premo and fimo? or do they air dry?

  • @starrpeople100 you bake all. look at the instructions :)

  • Premo! But if you need ot use softer clay,Fimo is good.If you don't want to buy Fimo, you can just use polymer clay softener.

  • I Think I Like CraftSmart:}}} You Should Try It

  • Have you tried sculpey bake shop? I don't know why but it's very crumbly when you take it out but only takes like 5 seconds to get super soft.

  • I luv Sculpey!!!! Vote for Sculpey

  • @Fashiongirl01234 yes sculpy is better than every single one comebined because its soft and its good for practice and for good people who makes good sculpy things thats what i choose vote for sculpy please!

  • thats funny cuz here in canada fimo is the cheapest :P

  • i want to make moulds that i can pour sealing wax into.....so the mould has to be a little flexible so i can get the wax out.....Primo soft seems like it suit my needs? thanks.

  • i've always used sculpey, and a teachers supply store it was the only brand of clay so i got it and at mchaels i just got more sculpey. i also use fimo effect though, i luv sparkly charms!

  • @aflpds9 good for using sculpy! thanks!

  • Really???? Where are you getting your clay, sculpey is not that price where I live. It's the most expensive. Second I like craft smart, it's kinda crumbly but once you squish it together it's all right.when I buy sculpey I feel the package, some colors are softer than others. I bought a brick the other day and put like half of it through the pasta machine without working it and it did not crack or crumble once it was SOOO soft! ( I was SOOOO happy:) ) plus EVERY time I feel the fino soft its

  • whoops, typo in sculpey* :)

  • i use fimo but mostly sculpy. there is also a brand called craft smart and i get that too

  • @sugarapple21 good for using that type of clay.

  • acualy bi went to all the stores and fimo is 2.49 premo is 2.79 and sculpey is 2.29

  • i am a film maker an i use sculpey for making armor where great detail is needed such as the hands and small details. i started with sculpey 3 but i also have strong hands from knitting....and yes, i am a guy.

  • The only thing I don't like about premo is that it takes the double of time to be cured compare to super sculpey, but still 1 of the best if u like to make very detailed sculptures.

  • I think you r rating the clay by how confortable it is in your hands instead of how efective it is to work with, in my opinion sculpey 111 is bad, never tried fimo yet but since I used premo I love it n I don't think I will ever try smthing else

  • where do you store it??

  • Fimo is my favourite. I only have 1 sculpey that crumbles but the rest are ok and some are as soft as fimo. I have never tried Premo though.

  • ive been using sculpey and it seems to just melt where it doesnt hold form. anyone have any idea? also, how do you get the charm so smooth and even?

  • Put some Vasilene in your Sculpey and work it till its 100% blended with the clay, the clay will be 100% softer for a while (as long as your body heat is in the clay) and its wonderful.. then you can bake it like normal

  • I really like sculpey and premonition I've never tried fimo

  • @agdollcrazy123 yah/ me eather

  • sorry I meant is fimo good for making charms.

  • @mjcagirl456 Fimo is great for making charms! that is mainly what i use :) Thank you for the comment :)

  • Premo is actually costs more then fimo. But it is FImo coudld for making charms?

  • Actually, premo has an 'effect' one. It is called Premo Affects

  • YES!i was right,i got fimo and people said thats not a good one to buy the first time!Thank you!You really helped me out :D

  • @ArtsandCook101 You are so welcome, thank you for the comment :)

  • Poor sculpey, you insulting it.

I've used all of them and i like fimo, but its not really worth the price.

  • i use sculpy and i have had some of my clay for 5 months and it has not dried out at all

  • @walkonproductions1 mine too

  • thanks for the video...im new with using clay & ll info is helpful. I actually have a block of sculpey (not sure if its 3) & it was a little hard but know that I have more knowledge on using it im sure ill b fine!!!! Also thanks to all the comments they were really helpful too...

  • @sheria36 Thank you for your positive comment. I am so glad this video was helpful to you. Have a fabulous day & if you have video suggestions feel free to let me know :)

  • hi...I have troubles with fimo clay...i really like the colors and the softness but after baking the charms can broke easily :( Do you have any idea what may cause it? I tried the sculpey and the clay is more elastic after baking

  • @Veragr13 that stinks that fimo breaks for you, are the things you are making thin? or has small details that stick out of the piece? Also depending on where you live, if polymer clay is not a popular item, then most likely it has been sitting on the shelf for too long making it almost "expired". if you are having trouble i would suggest trying premo sculpey, that clay is perfect for charms. Let me know how your charm making goes. Hope this helped :)

  • I don't like fimo either. They barely have any colors and it's not even soft. The price it too high!!!!

  • @HaleyE313 maybe the suplier you buy it from barely have any colors, actuallyproducer makes many colors for fimo classic, soft and effect

  • i use sculpey3 coz its soo soft! am i the only one who feels that fimo (even fimo soft) is making my fingers fall off?

  • Used Fimo, worked a treat until it hardened. Had to use vegetable oil and it softened the clay well (:

  • @Helenoodle Hello! Vegetable oil is so great because you can get a lot for real cheap, and for most houses it is something we already have in our cabinets. What a great tip to share, I love using a product not necessarily intended for what I am using it for, but still can reach the same goal without spending an arm and a leg. Have a fabulous day! :)

  • You can actually get whatever clay you want because sculpey makes this like rewetting or softening liquid that you can put on your clay to make them not crumbly.

  • @HamHamHara hi! & thanks for the comment, I dont know if you have ever used sculpey softener but it is very oily and when added to crumbled clay or hard clay it makes the colors of the clay slide right off and all over your hands, the softener is not ideal for me & a little on the expensive side, I would rather, for cheaper, buy a whole new block of soft clay.

  • I actually get sculpey the most, but I always check how soft it is by squishing the corner of the package in the store. The one time I didn't check, a pack I got was literally like a rock...it was terrible, I had to get clay softener to be able to use it at all. So whatever kind you get, make sure you check it!

  • that's so odd - i live in canada and at our michaels the fimo is the cheapest clay @$2.99 regular price - the other two brands are at least a dollar a block more. I got a bunch of sculpy and fimo today as there was a 50% off sale.yay!

  • @meezergurl you are so lucky!! i wish fimo was the cheapest, i always wait for it to go on sale. & I'm glad you were able to find your clay on sale, 50 % off is always my favorite words next to the clay section :)

  • I want to make prototype figures and statues, ( ilke those models that sculptors do before a movie based on the concept art, for example alien vs predator prototype models ) what sculpey will i need?

  • @srOLDSKULL if you are just starting out and dont want to get to expensive I suggest Premo Sulpey. once you get good I would upgrade to Fimo Puppen Polymer Clay, this stuff is a bit more expensive but specially designed to work well for the type of project you have in mind. Let me know how it goes, & have a great day :)

  • Thank you so much for making this o_o <3

  • @kearoshe No problem, glad it helped! :) have a fantastic day <3

  • I need to get more clay for my youngest!! We need to work on a video for you!! Will work on it this week!! LOL!!

  • @Tonks1967 i am seriously super excited to see this video of you and your fam making clay creations :) i really want to do a "make your own ring out of clay" video but the i have been waiting almost 20 days for my package of adjustable rings that i attach the clay to (it sounds complicated but i think you will love it because you can make your own unique jewelry) or better yet, your kids can make jewelry for you :) anyways, i hope you are doing well, enjoy the summer with your kids :)

  • Do you have a store on etsy or a website where I could possibly buy something?

  • @amazingcrafts4you i really have been doing my research on getting an etsy account in the future and most likely i will but now right now. i am getting married in 3 weeks, but after than hopefully i can start up my shop. thanks for the comment have a fabulous dayyy :)

  • So far, I have only bought Sculpey. Hopefully soon with some 40% off coupons, I will venture out and get some Premo and Fimo. Thanks for the tips!

  • @amazingcrafts4you coupons are the best!! i got a 50% off one today for joanns, i was so excited!! :) yes, you definitely need to try fimo soft, its the greatest! thanks for the comment

  • Love the tips, but if you buy clay from hobby lobby especially sculpey is hard... If you get it from joanns its usually softer at least where i live it is :)

  • @SuperCreativeCrafts OMG, i thought that only happened where i live, i totally agree hobby lobby's sculpey is way to hard!! but i have bought sculpey from joann's and it does seem to stay softer longer, but nothing compares to fimo soft. thanks for the feedback, have a fabulous day :)
