You're always taking a risk with drugs. Educate yourself & make safe choices if you do decide to try something. Listen to your body.
With the exceptions of weed, shrooms & other introspective inducing drugs that are fun to do alone too, I've never really found coke, E & such very fun to do alone. Try doing it when there's a reason or on special occasions. Each experience will (hopefully) be memorable & you don't build up tolerance as fast.
But there are a lot of people who understand that the crash is just a consequence of the high that they have to ride out. They refrain from more drugs to make the feeling of crashing better, because they remind themselves that it'll just compile.
Believe it or not, there are some people who can take drugs responsibly. My roommate can party from 7pm to 4am on a Tuesday with coked out and drunk yet he still manage to get to work at 10am the next day! I've seen him do it!
The thing is, some people choose to go too far. For me, I have done coke, ecstasy, acid & K. I also smoke weed & salvia & take shrooms. I don't consider those drugs because they're natural & non-addictive.
I can see how people might get addicted. It makes you feel really good, but the crash sucks, so you figure "let's do some more to take the edge off". Then you keep going & going.
People who choose that path are the people who don't know their limits.
If you are happy and feel you have a purpose in this world you will NOT get addicted to drugs. Don't believe people when they say the moment you smoke crack or abuse oxycontin you will be an instant addict. It isn't true. Now are they worth it? That is for you to answer. Drugs may have claimed many lives but it is those people's EMOTIONAL problems that caused them to be claimed. Drugs are not evil just like a knife is not evil. It is just how YOU use it.

For some people it is a gateway drug, for others it is not. It's completly up to the person. Sometimes you try on thing and you decide that you want to know what everything else is like. Sometimes you try pot and that's it for you, you like pot so you smoke it and stay away from the hard stuff. I don't think it should be classified as a gateway drug. Some are gateway people.

Hi everyone, I too am an opiate addict. I was using IV heroin everyday for over 4 years. I got on suboxone at first without insurance and had to pay $7 per pill for 90 pills per month plus Dr. fees, which was more than $600 a month just to stay clean. I've since gotten great insurance which allows me to get all my suboxone for free and I have a lot of extra suboxone scripts left over. I am willing to help anybody out who wants to get clean but doesn't have the funds to do it. Msg me!

The real gateway drug is alcohol. If you're drunk and someone busts out some coke you're way more likely to join in. Alcohol lowers your inhibitions, and also seems to facilitate a "group behavior" senario.

yea weed is not a gateway drug, but i can see how people can turn it in to one. I was a daily pot smoker for 7 years, then in the last 2 I started messing around with pills,then in the very last year i smoked oxy i smoked heroin, and snorted coke. the last 3 hard drugs was basically isolated, i didn't continue them, i just tried them a few times. and then i did shrooms, had a good trip and realized i needed to stop. i have been clean 6 months.
@TheNikedrummer Yes sure but there isn't anything in weed that would make you go towards hard drugs, like it isn't in its properties. Often because of prohibition dealers will sell more than weed and that's how you end up being around other substances too. So in a way prohibition favors people moving on to harder drugs.
@xdeliriumx1 If you spend enough time up in smoke you might become curious and that curiosity is the gateway, the only reason why people call it a gateway drug is because it gets you fucked up. and you might start to like to get fucked up, so fucked up becomes part of your hobbies... then you get bored and curious, and if you happen to be around people that you know and they offer different drugs you might be inclined to try it.

@TheNikedrummer I say that because I had friends who tried and didn't want to continue (and they rae huge pot/hash heads) and I did for about 6 months strait everyday, then a break of like 3 months and another year strait mixed with substitutes which are a cheaper way of getting the same high.
I smoked weed/hash for like 6 years or more prior to that but it isn't what got me into other stuff.

I really apprciate your brave decision to share that stuff - about your sister. I think it must be a tough decision to break-up with someone over weed but I think it does change a person. It removes one's life force, you know, that spark. There's a thing inside one's psyche that is related to achieving goals and I believe that weed destroys that 'thing'. I also think that things return to normal after abstaining and one can regrow their passion for life without resorting to the use of drugs.

You're always taking a risk with drugs. Educate yourself & make safe choices if you do decide to try something. Listen to your body.
With the exceptions of weed, shrooms & other introspective inducing drugs that are fun to do alone too, I've never really found coke, E & such very fun to do alone. Try doing it when there's a reason or on special occasions. Each experience will (hopefully) be memorable & you don't build up tolerance as fast.

But there are a lot of people who understand that the crash is just a consequence of the high that they have to ride out. They refrain from more drugs to make the feeling of crashing better, because they remind themselves that it'll just compile.
Believe it or not, there are some people who can take drugs responsibly. My roommate can party from 7pm to 4am on a Tuesday with coked out and drunk yet he still manage to get to work at 10am the next day! I've seen him do it!

The thing is, some people choose to go too far. For me, I have done coke, ecstasy, acid & K. I also smoke weed & salvia & take shrooms. I don't consider those drugs because they're natural & non-addictive.
I can see how people might get addicted. It makes you feel really good, but the crash sucks, so you figure "let's do some more to take the edge off". Then you keep going & going.
People who choose that path are the people who don't know their limits.

Don't believe people when they say the moment you smoke crack or abuse oxycontin you will be an instant addict. It isn't true. Now are they worth it? That is for you to answer. Drugs may have claimed many lives but it is those people's EMOTIONAL problems that caused them to be claimed. Drugs are not evil just like a knife is not evil. It is just how YOU use it.

For some people it is a gateway drug, for others it is not. It's completly up to the person. Sometimes you try on thing and you decide that you want to know what everything else is like. Sometimes you try pot and that's it for you, you like pot so you smoke it and stay away from the hard stuff. I don't think it should be classified as a gateway drug. Some are gateway people.

Hi everyone, I too am an opiate addict. I was using IV heroin everyday for over 4 years. I got on suboxone at first without insurance and had to pay $7 per pill for 90 pills per month plus Dr. fees, which was more than $600 a month just to stay clean. I've since gotten great insurance which allows me to get all my suboxone for free and I have a lot of extra suboxone scripts left over. I am willing to help anybody out who wants to get clean but doesn't have the funds to do it. Msg me!

The real gateway drug is alcohol. If you're drunk and someone busts out some coke you're way more likely to join in. Alcohol lowers your inhibitions, and also seems to facilitate a "group behavior" senario.

yea weed is not a gateway drug, but i can see how people can turn it in to one. I was a daily pot smoker for 7 years, then in the last 2 I started messing around with pills,then in the very last year i smoked oxy i smoked heroin, and snorted coke. the last 3 hard drugs was basically isolated, i didn't continue them, i just tried them a few times. and then i did shrooms, had a good trip and realized i needed to stop. i have been clean 6 months.

Often because of prohibition dealers will sell more than weed and that's how you end up being around other substances too. So in a way prohibition favors people moving on to harder drugs.

With prohibition often dealers sell more than one drug and in that sense it can be bad because your more easily exposed to it.
But there is no property in weed alone that makes u do heroin that is someone who decides to do it. Some people can do it once or several times without getting addicted and others not.

I smoked weed/hash for like 6 years or more prior to that but it isn't what got me into other stuff.

@TheNikedrummer but of course after you use it regularly it doesn't really matter who you are your addicted either way. Im glad I never got to shooting it up but I was at taking 1.5-2g of it a day, sometimes more but its hard because it was like $40 euros a gram.
But its because I liked the high, its not really getting fucked up you just feel so good on it, not even comparable to weed.

As the gentleman in the first segment of this said, if you do anything too much it will become toxic to your body. You're not going to eat 10lbs of potatoes and feel well. I really apprciate your brave decision to share that stuff - about your sister. I think it must be a tough decision to break-up with someone over weed but I think it does change a person. It removes one's life force, you know, that spark. There's a thing inside one's psyche that is related to achieving goals and I believe that weed destroys that 'thing'. I also think that things return to normal after abstaining and one can regrow their passion for life without resorting to the use of drugs.

well i have used weed for almost 7 years and i pull in $100,000+ a year in my job. i constantly go on vacation... mountain climbing.... sky diving... all kinds of shit... my "life spark" seems to be burning fine.... just figured id put that out there

Plenty of people use various drugs responsibly, whether it's to manage pain, practice spirituality, or just have fun.
