"You never see animals going through the absurd and often horrible fooleries of magic and religion.... Dogs do not ritually urinate in the hope of persuading heaven to do the same and send down rain. Asses do not bray a liturgy to cloudless skies. Nor do cats attempt, by abstinence from cat?s meat, to wheedle the feline spirits into benevolence. Only man behaves with such gratuitous folly. It is the price he has to pay for being intelligent but not, as yet, quite intelligent enough."
oh Jesus you are so beautiful. What words can describe you my Lord? Not even a thousand tongues truly explain what you did on that cross for me. Lord , i count all things as dung in comparison to the excellency of the knowledge of you. I love you Jesus. Wonderful Merciful Saviour, where would i be without you? Have mercy on me.
They are pretty tuned in to Gospel, but these contemporary Christian songs touch the heart and draw us close to God. They loved it and wanted to know more about - Praise God, this song touches the heart and brings it close to the Savior!!
its really touching to read all these comments and know that so many of us are saved by the Lord. But we cantforget the many others that have never heard of him. let's continue to spread His word throughout the land that he may recieve praise from every tongue. God loves us all!!! :D
i have listened to this song i dont know how many times and each time it makes me worship the LORD, what a powerful song, and yet as beautiful as it is it still doesnt sum up how awesome GOD is. there is no song that can do that, he is a awesome, merciful, loving GOD, there is no other religion, that can boast that there GOD died for them because he loves them, but the judao-christian faith can proudly say that our GOD died for us because he loves us, and if he didnt we'de be lost. what a GOD.
I agree we don't acknowledge that at times. Men , even the redeemed ones , can be forgetful, busy in their own thoughts. How great a Life the Son of God gave from himself, How great a sacrifice.
Wonderful Merciful Savior THAT HE IS :) at times we may no (i may not) acknawledge that but he truly is. God Bless you all as you listen to the words of this song. it brings tears to my eyes!!!!!

how great our Lord. praise Jesus, the champion of our souls. we ARE hopeless without you. this is our love song to You, our wondeferful Savior, let it be sung from every hilltop.
The bible's way of life dosent comply with our way of life. It's back then. When the bible said slaves, The slaves where white back then during the bible too. And it mostly means apprentice too.
jcnstar: You seem intent on twisting the facts. You said, "The bible's way of life dosent comply with our way of life." How is that possible? What the hell does that mean?
This is likely what you meant to say, "Our way of life doesn't comply with Biblical standards, thanks to secular morality."
Again, you twist the facts of Biblical slavery when you say, "And it mostly means apprentice too." If that were even mostly true, then the Bible instructs how severely to beat your apprentice.
Anyway, There is punishment for it. Even if he dosent die, God will punish. And it dosent instruct to beat. It says if the master, get this, DOES BEAT HIM. IT DOSENT INSTRUCT TO BEAT.
jcnstar: Perhaps you're partially illiterate and partially retarded. The bible clearly defines how severely a slave should be beaten. Read Exodus 21:20-21.
I have! You know, i dont get it. It says what should be done if a slave is beaten. It dosent say that you should. Face it. you are wrong on this matter.
jcnstar: I'm not sure about your logic. The bible clearly endorses slavery. The bible doesn't say anywhere that slavery is an evil abomination in the eyes of God. On the other hand, in Exodus 21:21, the bible says the man that beat his slave is not to be punished if the slave can get up after a day or two, since the slave is his property. The bible is clearly not the inspired word of a supreme and loving being. Wake up and smell the coffee! God is a myth that you've allowed to enslave your mind.
jcnstar: I've provided enough clues for a reasonable person to conclude God is a myth. Obviously, there's people in this world that will believe about anything. Good luck with your God impediment.
a0eoj:You are right, the God of the OT and the God of the NT are the same God.Keep in mind as you read Exodus though that it was written specifically as government laws for the nation of Israel. If a child talks back to his parents we are not supposed to stone him to death, just like today we condemn slavery and physical abuse. Also consider that these were protective measures for slaves. In those days a master COULD beat a slaver to death if he wanted. Jewish law, set up by God,protected slaves
zarivienni: I'm not sure that you're comment requires a response, but I'll give you one anyway.
It sure doesn't sound like God was protecting slaves. God's inspired book not only condones slavery, but also defines how severely slaves may be beaten.
You contend that God was doing the slaves a favor by protecting them from being beaten to death??? I'd imagine many a slave, beaten nearly to death, wished they would have died, ending their miserable servile existence.
I would also strongly reccomend reading Philemon for more on the issue of slavery in the Bible. Slave masters were told to treat their slaves like brothers in the faith. Also consider men like William Wilberforce and John Newton who were strong Christians who opposed slavery BECAUSE of their Biblical convictions.
You have a thoughtful and communicative mind. If you come to see the truth of what the Bible is saying you will be unstoppable for Christ. :)
zarivienni: Your second comment is merely an attempt to whitewash the now obvious moral deficiencies of Yahweh's inspired word. Your reference to the morals of early American Christians only demonstrates how even some Christians realize how morally flawed Yahweh's inspired Bible really is.
wow, definately not at all what they were saying, or what I was saying. do you have to force words and meanings into everything and deliberatly fail to see the context at all times to continue your hostility against YHWH? You can do that for all your life if you wish, but His word is alive and powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword. It pierces deep enough to devide joint and bone and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. May your eyes be opened to that and may you not turn away.
zarivienni: Oh, I realize what you'd like me to think (like a serf). Unfortunately, I also recognize the deception and/or false logic in your arguments. If you wish to refute my arguments, I'd suggest you get your head screwed on straight. (unless you don't mind sounding ridiculous)
You seem to have mistaken my passion for ending ignorance and superstitious beliefs with hostilty for your mythical Yahweh.
Your own page mentions that you are resentful against any religion or superstitious beliefs, and the adults who tried to force them on you. I assure you that I have chosen Yahweh of my own free will. I am passionate for Him, as you are passionate for ending ignorance. Your arguments, while valid questions and things people do struggle to understand, still fall short of disproving His existance as who He says He is. You fail to place your arguments in context.
zarivienni: If you've been paying attention, you can clearly see my arguments are not only valid, but quite simply rationalize the improbability of Yahweh's existence.
Since you failed to grasp the significance of my previous comments, I will elaborate my argument just for you:
How is it possible that Yahweh is a just and loving and caring and omniscient and omnipotent God, but His inspired word, the Bible, does not reflect such?
Clearly, God is a mythical creation of ancient men.
The entire passage that you quoted as proof of God's nonexistance is a government system set up by God to provide civil rights for people, and to protect the sacredness of human life from murder.
Clearly, God is a mythical creation of ancient men, or a real Being that you are not comfortable with because you think He should do just what you want Him to.
Again, why do you try to force your anti-religion on me, just like those who forced religion on you?
Anyway, it comes down to I believe that scripture is true, and you believe its bull. I have defended my reasons for belief to you, and realize that they sound completely crazy and like I'm a fool. But realize that I do not believe for no reason. I would rather be a fool in the eyes of men than a fool in the eyes of God. The Bible says that fools say there is no God. You say only fools say there is. I gladly remain a fool for God, since he has shown unbeleivable love for me in His Word.
You may call me a fool and try to disprove my God to me, but Christ payed for my guilt with His own blood, and through his wounds I am healed. Then he conquered death and came back to life, and by this I know I too will one day live forever with God. You may call me ignorant and superstitious. The Bible says that the wisdom of the cross is to those who perish, foolishness, but to those who are being saved by it, it is salvation. Choose for yourself. But it seems you too like to force your belief
Yes, that is the exact kind of wisdom you get from reading the Word of God. The kind that seems like complete impossibility. I mean, God, the Creator, the righteous, the just, humbled himself to become like the sinful rebellious people that scorned Him? Jesus lived on earth just like all of us, only without sinning. Then the only perfect God/Man let people beat him and crucify Him so he could bring humanity back to terms with God. He was either a madman, a liar, or the Saviour of the world.
My dear friend, you are so right! But there's one element of TRUTH missing from this argument and that is that Jesus in addition to being human was also God made flesh. He during his life was also able to raise others to life after death. Through the power of God "ALL" things are possible! A man on the verge of suicide after my wife's death like me can call on Him and be transformed and renewed! I can't explain God, nor can you. But I know he is real because I have met him personally!
jcnstar: It would appear God doesn't have a problem with beating the hell out of a slave. Just so long as the slave doesn't die from the beating. Thank goodness for that moral standard.
i see this 'discussion' has been going on long enough, but i've gotta point out a 'severe' flaw in your logic -- you're only pointing out passages from the Old Testament. if you were arguing with a Jewish person that may hold water, but not with a Christian.
Duz15: I'd sure like you to try pointing out any flaw with my logic. It sounds like you're trying to distance Christians from the God of the Old Testament. Don't Christians worship the God of Abraham? Is this not the same God that endorsed slavery in the O.T.? Please feel free to elaborate on any flaws in my logic.
Duz15: Here's a nice reassuring passage from the New Testament in Matthew 5:17. Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Apparently neither God or Jesus forbid the slavery endorsed in the Law of Moses.
jcnstar: I suppose you think the Bible was referring to apprentices in the book of Exodus. It's okay to beat your slaves; even if they die you won't be punished, just as long as they survive a day or two after the beating (see Ex.21:20-21). But avoid excessive damage to their eyes or teeth. Otherwise you may have to set them free. Oh well, it's a heck of a lot better than what would happen to you if you did it to a non-slave. (See verses 21:24-25)
jcnstar: Why are you trying to sugar-coat the truth? Words like apprentice are substituted for slave in order to deceive and hide the truth. The truth is a slave is the property of the master. The truth is an apprentice would be fired not beaten. So, I think it's pretty clear your statement only serves to sugar-coat the truth. Why?
jcnstar: I can't help but wonder why slavery wasn't made commandment #1 after the Jewish enslavement in Egypt. Is it because the Jews didn't see anything wrong with slavery as long as it wasn't suffered by them? It seems an All-knowing God would have included the abomination of slavery in His Top Ten Commandments. Not only does 'God' not seem aware of slavery's abomination, but apparently 'God' endorses such immoral behavior.
Schizophrenia is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental illness characterized by impairments in the perception or expression of reality, most commonly manifesting as auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions or disorganized speech and thinking in the context of significant social or occupational dysfunction. Onset of symptoms typically occurs in young adulthood. Diagnosis is based on the patient's self-reported experiences and observed behavior.
When they say you are talking to Jesus, u dont talk with him in person. You talk to him by praying. He responds by laying something on your heart or by the word of God. But dont say god is uncapapble of showing up in person to people. He could if he wanted to.
There is a God. the evidence is everwhere. I have to go to church so if u want to leave a comment the please feel free to do so. I will respond when i get back from church.
jcnstar: Once again, there is no God. That is a myth and there is no evidence for such primitive beliefs. Like I said earlier, if you're content living like a serf, don't let me stop you. Have fun at church. Yes, I'm free to do whatever I think is best. I don't have a master to serve. I understand if you can't respond until your master lets you out of church. While I'm waiting for your release, I'll be enjoying the beautiful weather outside.
jcnstar: Excuse me, but my view of christianity is a result of reading the bible, talking to many pastors, as well as studying history, science and philosophy. I suggest you read your bible, cover to cover. We need more atheists, and there's nothing that'll get you there faster than reading the bible.
My view of christianity is from bible seminar, and i have read the bible cover to cover sir. I have also talked to pastors and such as these. What really is your view of christianity then, if i may ask?
jcnstar: You asked, "What really is your view of christianity then, if i may ask?"
You seem like a nice person and I don't mean to offend you. So, I will answer you as honestly and respectfully as I can. In a nutshell, Christianity is a religion the Romans plagiarized from Judaim.
jcnstar: You're right, there is something called faith. Here's the dictionary definition of faith. Faith is belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
To a certain extent, you're right, the Romans hated the Jews. More accurately, the Romans had created an empire that was threatened by the Jews and their pagan religion. Christianity is a Roman creation, devised to counter Jewish resistance. Christianity has survived because it serves to keep the population in serfdom.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The religon of Jewism was there before the romans too, remember that. Well, i have to say u have done your "homework".
aueo why don'tyou take your anti-christian grap and get lost? These are not the pages for your kind of drivel. You are a poor lost soul and I pray for your enlightenment..but I'd rather you didn't show your appaling ignorance

Christianity is a hoax. Christianity is Roman war propaganda against the Jews. New testament was written by Romans to demean and destroy Judaism. Titus Flavius who destroyed the Jewish Temple commissioned the Christian hoax as a replacement for Judaism. Titus Flavius' military campaign against Jerusalem was transformed into Jesus' ministry against Judaism. Wake up people! All religions are a form of brainwashing.
Christianity was hated by the romans. The romans Would crucify christians at every oppurtunity, They would often pour oil and/or tar over them and light them on fire as well to provide light for the streets. Sometimes they were crucifyed upside down, such was the hatred that the romans had for Christianity.
Its ludicrous to think they created it to replace Judaism.
chriskg1989: Would it be any more or less ludicrous to think a supernatural deity loves you and wants to save your soul? One should be careful not to confuse the jews with christians. I suppose it's just coincidence the catholic church is headquartered in Rome. Wake up all ye crazy brainwashed christians! Religions seek to enslave your mind.
chriskg1989: Have you ever wondered why Jews do not believe Jesus was the messiah? Wasn't Jesus a Jew? Would the Jewish population have not been very familiar with Jesus, an amazing healer and, according to you, a supernatural deity? How could anyone possibly find a better messiah than Jesus? Well, anyone except the Jews that is. LOL Don't you think it's about time to pull your head from the sand and wake up to the fraud of the age, religion?
i think ur a loser and that u shouldnt say bad things on a christian song and that u should keep ur rude saying about religion to urself and maybe not ever say this ever again on a christian song
Since we're sharing our thoughts, let me share mine. I think you're an illiterate irrational schizophrenic loser and maybe you should keep your religion to yourself if you can't deal with criticism. Maybe you should never again mention your delusional christian beliefs in public.
i actually dont care its people like you who actually make me think even when people like you always diss my religion i always know that there is someone watching my back and i advise you to stop listening to this song if you dont like religion
What? Are you illiterate too? FYI, I didn't come here to listen to gay christian music. I'm here to help people realize that supernatural beliefs are delusional. Religion is the real problem with this country, and greedy politicians and corporations are willing to take advantage of your delusions. Just connect the dots. America, of, by, and for the corporations in the name of God. Open your eyes people. There is no God!
man what is up with you? God is keeping u alive and u have the nerve to say there is no god? NO GOD?? WHO MADE YOU? WHO MADE THE UNIVERSE? WHO DIED ON THE CROSS FOR YOU?? GOD DID THATS WHO!! im sry man but that is just straight up offensive.
What's up with you? I'm not the one spreading fairytales. God is a myth. If you think you're talking to God, you're simply naive. I don't mean to be offensive, but facts are facts and truth is truth. You sir are spreading lies. All gods, including yours, were created by men to explain things people couldn't understand. Religions turn the population into mindless conforming serfs. Is that really what you want? Free yourself from whatever cult you subscribe and unlock the shackles. Be free!
first of all sir, You want to know how Jesus was not created by men? He existed before you, me, and any other man. If i know nothing, i know that god exists. He created the universe. The world didnt just happen to come up by chance. Jesus is sovereign. You know those events that happen and have no explanation? There is an explanation. That explanation is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. Listen, u may not believe what i believe, but nothing on this earth will convince me owherwise.
I'm sorry to be the one to burst your bubble. If Jesus really existed, he wasn't the first man to walk this earth. Nor did he have any special powers, that's a myth. If you're content living in serfdom, please don't let me stop you.
jcnstar: You said, "You so strongly refute chritianity. Let me ask you a question: Why do you not believe in the Bible and Jesus"
I know the bible could not have even been inspired by an all-knowing being because there's too many inaccuracies. I also understand history and how religions have evolved over time. Christianity is the offspring of Judaism which is the offspring of Egyptian religion.
I just find it a bit ironic. Most christians recognize and despise astrology as a form of superstitious-religious astronomy. But, they are blind to christianity being the same superstitious astrological sun-worshipping religion that originated from egypt.
jcnstar: I would agree people had the wrong view of god back then. It just a shame people haven't wised up after 2000 years. I sure hope you're not getting your ethical and moral lessons from the bible. When was the last time you stoned a rebellious child? When was the last time you beat your slaves?
God knows what kind of people he is dealing with these days. Read proverbs and u will see what is supposed to happen to a rebellious child today. Slaves don't exist these days. Just out of curiosity, how old are you?
jcnstar: God is a myth. Slaves don't exist in America these days because of secular morality. We would still have slaves if our morality came from the bible.
You weren't very specific concerning the rebellious child. I suppose you're referring to the proverb that says, spare the rod and spoil the child. If so, that is also outdated morality. If you don't believe me, study modern child psychology. Just to satisfy your curiousity, I am 39. How old are you?
No racial offense intended, but the reality is that if we got our morals from the Bible, you would likely be someone's slave. I always find it puzzling when black people cling to a religion that would enslave them mentally and physically. If you live in America, and I'm assuming you do, you don't have to live like a serf anymore. Burn that Bible, you're free.
jcnstar: Read Exodus 21:2-6. Now here's a lovely scripture that should anger a black person with ancestors who were former slaves.
If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
You know, my early American (white) ancestors didn't invent slavery. Slavery was a common practice before biblical times. If slavery really is such an evil act, why wasn't slavery mentioned in the ten commandments? Or, maybe #11, Thou shall never own another man. Why not? Because the Bible was written by men that clearly wanted to own slaves. God is just a myth created by powerful men to control and manipulate the population into serfdom. Free yourself, loosen your shackles, and burn your Bible.

I find it a bit ironic when a black person is resentful for his ancestors slavery, yet clings to the religion that put them in slavery.
a0eoj 3 years ago
The bible's way of life dosent comply with our way of life. It's back then. When the bible said slaves, The slaves where white back then during the bible too. And it mostly means apprentice too.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: You seem intent on twisting the facts. You said, "The bible's way of life dosent comply with our way of life." How is that possible? What the hell does that mean?
This is likely what you meant to say, "Our way of life doesn't comply with Biblical standards, thanks to secular morality."
Again, you twist the facts of Biblical slavery when you say, "And it mostly means apprentice too." If that were even mostly true, then the Bible instructs how severely to beat your apprentice.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Show me one verse that it says you have to beat your apprentice.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: Are you god-damned retarded? I just gave you the biblical verses that define how severely a slave should be beaten. Read Exodus 21:20-21.
a0eoj 3 years ago
No, im not "god-damned retarted"..............
Anyway, There is punishment for it. Even if he dosent die, God will punish. And it dosent instruct to beat. It says if the master, get this, DOES BEAT HIM. IT DOSENT INSTRUCT TO BEAT.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: Perhaps you're partially illiterate and partially retarded. The bible clearly defines how severely a slave should be beaten. Read Exodus 21:20-21.
a0eoj 3 years ago
I have! You know, i dont get it. It says what should be done if a slave is beaten. It dosent say that you should. Face it. you are wrong on this matter.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: Let me rephrase and change one word, change 'should' to 'may' in my statement.
The bible clearly defines how severely a slave 'may' be beaten. Read Exodus 21:20-21.
Thanks for the correction, I'll admit when I'm wrong, but frankly it does nothing to correct the biblical endorsement of slavery.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Yes, it does. The bible never sais slavery is right.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: I'm not sure about your logic. God is a myth that you've allowed to enslave your mind.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Sorry, God is real to me.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: I've provided enough clues for a reasonable person to conclude God is a myth. Obviously, there's people in this world that will believe about anything. Good luck with your God impediment.
a0eoj 3 years ago
As i said before, good luck with being an athiest.
jcnstar 3 years ago
a0eoj:You are right, the God of the OT and the God of the NT are the same God.Keep in mind as you read Exodus though that it was written specifically as government laws for the nation of Israel. If a child talks back to his parents we are not supposed to stone him to death, just like today we condemn slavery and physical abuse. Also consider that these were protective measures for slaves. In those days a master COULD beat a slaver to death if he wanted. Jewish law, set up by God,protected slaves
zarivienni 3 years ago
zarivienni: I'm not sure that you're comment requires a response, but I'll give you one anyway.
It sure doesn't sound like God was protecting slaves. God's inspired book not only condones slavery, but also defines how severely slaves may be beaten.
You contend that God was doing the slaves a favor by protecting them from being beaten to death??? I'd imagine many a slave, beaten nearly to death, wished they would have died, ending their miserable servile existence.
a0eoj 3 years ago
I would also strongly reccomend reading Philemon for more on the issue of slavery in the Bible. Slave masters were told to treat their slaves like brothers in the faith. Also consider men like William Wilberforce and John Newton who were strong Christians who opposed slavery BECAUSE of their Biblical convictions.
You have a thoughtful and communicative mind. If you come to see the truth of what the Bible is saying you will be unstoppable for Christ. :)
zarivienni 3 years ago
zarivienni: Your second comment is merely an attempt to whitewash the now obvious moral deficiencies of Yahweh's inspired word. Your reference to the morals of early American Christians only demonstrates how even some Christians realize how morally flawed Yahweh's inspired Bible really is.
a0eoj 3 years ago
wow, definately not at all what they were saying, or what I was saying. do you have to force words and meanings into everything and deliberatly fail to see the context at all times to continue your hostility against YHWH? You can do that for all your life if you wish, but His word is alive and powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword. It pierces deep enough to devide joint and bone and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart. May your eyes be opened to that and may you not turn away.
zarivienni 3 years ago
zarivienni: Oh, I realize what you'd like me to think (like a serf). Unfortunately, I also recognize the deception and/or false logic in your arguments. If you wish to refute my arguments, I'd suggest you get your head screwed on straight. (unless you don't mind sounding ridiculous)
You seem to have mistaken my passion for ending ignorance and superstitious beliefs with hostilty for your mythical Yahweh.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Your own page mentions that you are resentful against any religion or superstitious beliefs, and the adults who tried to force them on you. I assure you that I have chosen Yahweh of my own free will. I am passionate for Him, as you are passionate for ending ignorance. Your arguments, while valid questions and things people do struggle to understand, still fall short of disproving His existance as who He says He is. You fail to place your arguments in context.
zarivienni 3 years ago
zarivienni: If you've been paying attention, you can clearly see my arguments are not only valid, but quite simply rationalize the improbability of Yahweh's existence.
Since you failed to grasp the significance of my previous comments, I will elaborate my argument just for you:
How is it possible that Yahweh is a just and loving and caring and omniscient and omnipotent God, but His inspired word, the Bible, does not reflect such?
Clearly, God is a mythical creation of ancient men.
a0eoj 3 years ago
His word does, but you deny it.

But it seems you too like to force your belief

a0eoj 3 years ago
Yes, that is the exact kind of wisdom you get from reading the Word of God. The kind that seems like complete impossibility. I mean, God, the Creator, the righteous, the just, humbled himself to become like the sinful rebellious people that scorned Him? Jesus lived on earth just like all of us, only without sinning. Then the only perfect God/Man let people beat him and crucify Him so he could bring humanity back to terms with God. He was either a madman, a liar, or the Saviour of the world.
zarivienni 3 years ago 2
My dear friend, you are so right! But there's one element of TRUTH missing from this argument and that is that Jesus in addition to being human was also God made flesh. He during his life was also able to raise others to life after death. Through the power of God "ALL" things are possible! A man on the verge of suicide after my wife's death like me can call on Him and be transformed and renewed! I can't explain God, nor can you. But I know he is real because I have met him personally!
eagles1stflight 3 years ago 7
jcnstar: It would appear God doesn't have a problem with beating the hell out of a slave. Just so long as the slave doesn't die from the beating. Thank goodness for that moral standard.
a0eoj 3 years ago
i see this 'discussion' has been going on long enough, but i've gotta point out a 'severe' flaw in your logic -- you're only pointing out passages from the Old Testament. if you were arguing with a Jewish person that may hold water, but not with a Christian.
Duz15 3 years ago
Duz15: I'd sure like you to try pointing out any flaw with my logic. It sounds like you're trying to distance Christians from the God of the Old Testament. Don't Christians worship the God of Abraham? Is this not the same God that endorsed slavery in the O.T.? Please feel free to elaborate on any flaws in my logic.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Duz15: Here's a nice reassuring passage from the New Testament in Matthew 5:17. Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Apparently neither God or Jesus forbid the slavery endorsed in the Law of Moses.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Duz15: Perhaps the flaws you see are with your own logic. God is a mythical creation of men. Once you realize the truth, it all makes sense.
a0eoj 3 years ago
jcnstar: I suppose you think the Bible was referring to apprentices in the book of Exodus. (See verses 21:24-25)
a0eoj 3 years ago
jcnstar: Why are you trying to sugar-coat the truth? Words like apprentice are substituted for slave in order to deceive and hide the truth. The truth is a slave is the property of the master. The truth is an apprentice would be fired not beaten. So, I think it's pretty clear your statement only serves to sugar-coat the truth. Why?
a0eoj 3 years ago
I'm not trying to sugar coat the truth!! You just have a different definiton of "truth" then me.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: Truth is truth. Anything else is deception, including sugar coating the truth to make it palatable.
a0eoj 3 years ago
If i were trying to sugar coat the truth, i would say that God is a hoax, and i only believe in mysleft and that human logic beats everything.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: I can't help but wonder why slavery wasn't made commandment #1 after the Jewish enslavement in Egypt.

Now that everyone understands what it means to be schizophrenic, remember that the next time you're talking to Jesus.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Schizophrenia is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental illness characterized by impairments in the perception or expression of reality, most commonly manifesting as auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions or disorganized speech and thinking in the context of significant social or occupational dysfunction. Onset of symptoms typically occurs in young adulthood. Diagnosis is based on the patient's self-reported experiences and observed behavior.
a0eoj 3 years ago
When they say you are talking to Jesus, u dont talk with him in person. You talk to him by praying. He responds by laying something on your heart or by the word of God. But dont say god is uncapapble of showing up in person to people. He could if he wanted to.

a0eoj 3 years ago

jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: You asked, "What really is your view of christianity then, if i may ask?"
You seem like a nice person and I don't mean to offend you. So, I will answer you as honestly and respectfully as I can. In a nutshell, Christianity is a religion the Romans plagiarized from Judaim.
a0eoj 3 years ago
You are right at that one but there is something called faith. Also, the romans hated the jews.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: You're right, there is something called faith.
Christianity has survived because it serves to keep the population in serfdom.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The religon of Jewism was there before the romans too, remember that. Well, i have to say u have done your "homework".

All religions are a form of brainwashing.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Christianity was hated by the romans. The romans Would crucify christians at every oppurtunity, They would often pour oil and/or tar over them and light them on fire as well to provide light for the streets. Sometimes they were crucifyed upside down, such was the hatred that the romans had for Christianity.
Its ludicrous to think they created it to replace Judaism.

first of all sir, You want to know how Jesus was not created by men? He existed before you, me, and any other man. If i know nothing, i know that god exists. He created the universe. That explanation is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. Listen, u may not believe what i believe, but nothing on this earth will convince me owherwise.

I know the bible could not have even been inspired by an all-knowing being because there's too many inaccuracies. I also understand history and how religions have evolved over time. Christianity is the offspring of Judaism which is the offspring of Egyptian religion.
a0eoj 3 years ago
You are right. It did come from egypt. It came from the branch of Joseph and his lineage in egypt.

I just find it a bit ironic. Most christians recognize and despise astrology as a form of superstitious-religious astronomy. But, they are blind to christianity being the same superstitious astrological sun-worshipping religion that originated from egypt.
a0eoj 3 years ago
Thats because people had the wrong view o God back then. Now, people have the bible to live by, and prayer so they know whats right and wrong.
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: I would agree people had the wrong view of god back then. It just a shame people haven't wised up after 2000 years. I sure hope you're not getting your ethical and moral lessons from the bible. When was the last time you stoned a rebellious child? When was the last time you beat your slaves?
a0eoj 3 years ago
God knows what kind of people he is dealing with these days. Read proverbs and u will see what is supposed to happen to a rebellious child today. Slaves don't exist these days. Just out of curiosity, how old are you?
jcnstar 3 years ago
jcnstar: God is a myth.

Burn that Bible, you're free.
a0eoj 3 years ago
jcnstar: Read Exodus 21:2-6. Now here's a lovely scripture that should anger a black person with ancestors who were former slaves.
If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
...continued in next post

Exodus 21:2-6 continued...
