i am a german car engineer and we have lots of cars from other brands to test and compare here...
and i havent seen one american car which can compete in interieur look with german top brands.. american cars only have power and can compete on straights.. they have very soft springs and they behave like ships in corners.germany is one of the biggest exporters in the world... because of its quality! and now compare size of germany and USA and the amount of export.The whole world trusts german eng.

@cadrolls LOL, are you serious? I can see your argument about reliability, may warranties, but "perform better, and the "use of higher quality materials"? are you smoking crack? BMW; particularly Audi use the best interior materials of any company, more so audi than bmw. Cadillac's are nice and are getting better, but they are not on the same level, especially in performance. Lastly, the SRX sucks, and its not a real SUV. I do think this video is lame, but don't diss Audi!
@chigasaki06 Many German cars, including Audi, BMW, and even Mercedes, use vinyl as standard whereas Cadillac uses premium imported Italian leather on the seats, dashboard, and even the door panels. The CTS-V out-performs them all too. The new Camaro will now do 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. The CTS-V blew the doors off the Porsche Panamera from 0-255 K/ph. American cars are cheaper to repair and to insure too. There are no advantages to buying German or eradiated Japanese cars anymore.

@cadrolls I don't disagree. I know the CTS-V is crazy, in fact, one of the few American cars I would buy. However, I think Cadillac needs to better refine their vehicles, they are powerful, but a little loose when it comes to cornering, personally, that's where I believe the Germans have a leg up. Clearly, you're a Cadillac guy, I'm more of an Audi guy, it's all subjective. I like Cadillac's but I prefer the subtle sophisticated designs of Audi.
@chigasaki06 Cadillacs have been dusting the German cars in the corners too, you know. Check out the all new DTX and the ATS models. You would have a difficult time following one in an Audi.

Ok, people. While the title of the video may suggest Quattro can get up snow hills "magically", the hill shown is not a challenge for nearly any vehicle. It looks to me like the driver is having fun, spinning the tires purposely. As an Audi Quattro driver myself, I can tell you it takes a lot of torque to make that happen on a lightly snow dusted driveway. I would agree that Quattro all wheel drive is magic, but this video is not the best example of what that magic feels `like.

I own an Audi A8 3.0TDI and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. It runs as smooth as butter and as quiet as a feather falling. I couldn't ask for anything better.

@cadrolls I moved to the US from Germany and bought a Cadillac. Worst car I ever drove. I cant wait to get rid of it. It rattles everywhere, even on a smooth road and the interior quality is disappointing. What looks like wood is plastic and what looks like metal is as well. There are gaps I can put a finger in between and the factory audio system is a joke. I have to admit, it was half the price of a comparable German car, and they have to save that money somewhere.

@cadrolls Well, I did and in terms of built quality and materials they got closer, but are nut there yet. They do look sharp though. I don't want to deny that they are great cars for what they cost and the American market demands, but especially Audi is in a whole different class. BTW The Audi A4 and A6 are two of the 3 most reliable vehicles. Look at the DEKRA Used Car Report 2012. Cadillac is not even mentioned and they and some of their models are sold in Germany, too.

Cadillac builds good cars now and among the other American cars they may well be the best, but they just can'y quite compete with the Germans (or at least not with Audi). The average German keeps his new car for about 7 years vs about 2 in the US. Hence German cars have to be made to better standards. Also to go well over 125mph for long periods of time for their whole life anytime the owner demands it.
@hbote2710 When considering a car to purchase, one MUST look at the past reputation too. Audi, along with BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, and Volkswagon, used slave labor from the concentration camps during WWII. Cadillac NEVER used slave labor. Cadillac stands for freedom. I knew someone with an SRX, they had to sell it at just under 60K miles because they knew the 5L40-E transmission was going to shit on them. The car's interior was falling apart, the engine sounded like shit; unrefined and noisy. What Jeremy Clarkson says about American cars isn't all wrong, and stating that Audi quality is sub-par to Cadillac quality is a ridiculous claim.
@WoZIMoo I have known so many people with horror stories of their own after buying Audis. I am one of them. After a clutch torque converter (I think that is what it was called) went on my Audi, I paid the $750.00 repair bill only to have the transmission fail before leaving the parking lot at Aamco Transmissions. NEVER again! The Cadillac SRX is the fastest selling SUV of any now being sold and second overall in sales. It is $30,000.00 LESS than the Audi and the quality is BETTER!

@BoseATI NO part of Germany gets as cold as it does here in the USA. Temperatures can dip to -40 fahrenheit (-40 Celcius) in MANY parts of the Northeast. German cars are the FIRST that need assistance when it gets that cold. Call AAA and they will tell you which cars do NOT start at colder temperatures.

And no dont say "how would you know, you prob dont live in a place that gets alot of snow and bad weather" I live in MN buddy and when i first got my a4 i didnt realize it had summer tires on it and had no problems getting around in feet of snow.

@cadrolls Cadillac's are ugly and cheap. I would buy a German car no matter how much it costs. German cars are pure quality first or second hand. I own an Audi A8 3.0TDI and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. It runs as smooth as butter and as quiet as a feather falling. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Cadillacs are less expensive to repair. NOTHING about the Audi is of a higher quality than Cadillac. ZILCH! Cadillac is better handling, faster, and it has a superior reliability rating. It also is AMERICAN owned so it will be on the road 50 years from now.

@cadrolls I moved to the US from Germany and bought a Cadillac. Worst car I ever drove. I cant wait to get rid of it. It rattles everywhere, even on a smooth road and the interior quality is disappointing. What looks like wood is plastic and what looks like metal is as well. There are gaps I can put a finger in between and the factory audio system is a joke. I have to admit, it was half the price of a comparable German car, and they have to save that money somewhere.

@cadrolls Well, I did and in terms of built quality and materials they got closer, but are nut there yet. They do look sharp though. I don't want to deny that they are great cars for what they cost and the American market demands, but especially Audi is in a whole different class. BTW The Audi A4 and A6 are two of the 3 most reliable vehicles. Look at the DEKRA Used Car Report 2012. Cadillac is not even mentioned and they and some of their models are sold in Germany, too.

@cadrolls And that is just what I'm talking about. Cadillac builds good cars now and among the other American cars they may well be the best, but they just can'y quite compete with the Germans (or at least not with Audi). The average German keeps his new car for about 7 years vs about 2 in the US. Hence German cars have to be made to better standards. Also to go well over 125mph for long periods of time for their whole life anytime the owner demands it.

Audi, along with BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, and Volkswagon, used slave labor from the concentration camps during WWII. Cadillac NEVER used slave labor. Cadillac stands for freedom. BMW stands for unmitigated horror and evil on an unpresidented scale never before seen in the history of modern civilization.
Cadillac's quality is now second to no other.

According to the chart, B.M.W hasn't been on the top 10 best auto's list since 2000, Mercedes Benz since 1995, Porsche since 1975, Volkswagon since 1985 and the Audi has NEVER been in the top 10 EVEN ONE TIME! Cadillac came in at NUMBER 1 in the J.D.Powers TOP ten luxury SUVs. Sports cars? Camaro tied at NUMBER 1 with Dodge Challenger.
Audi has historically been the WORST reliable car.

@cadrolls This Audi A6 ALLROAD is a vehicle that can cope with all conditions, that's why it has plastic bumpers instead of bumpers that match the body which if scratched or chipped will cost a lot more to repair. Look at the normal Audi A6 and talk you shit.

@cadrolls Stop going from one Audi video to another, Cadillac sucks big time and is slowing dying. I knew someone with an SRX, they had to sell it at just under 60K miles because they knew the 5L40-E transmission was going to shit on them. The car's interior was falling apart, the engine sounded like shit; unrefined and noisy. What Jeremy Clarkson says about American cars isn't all wrong, and stating that Audi quality is sub-par to Cadillac quality is a ridiculous claim.

@WoZIMoo I have known so many people with horror stories of their own after buying Audis. I am one of them. After a clutch torque converter (I think that is what it was called) went on my Audi, I paid the $750.00 repair bill only to have the transmission fail before leaving the parking lot at Aamco Transmissions. NEVER again! The Cadillac SRX is the fastest selling SUV of any now being sold and second overall in sales. It is $30,000.00 LESS than the Audi and the quality is BETTER!

@BoseATI NO part of Germany gets as cold as it does here in the USA. Temperatures can dip to -40 fahrenheit (-40 Celcius) in MANY parts of the Northeast. German cars are the FIRST that need assistance when it gets that cold. Call AAA and they will tell you which cars do NOT start at colder temperatures.

Ok seriously, i sure hope your audi wouldnt get stuck on what looks to me like frost on the road. A front drive car wouldnt have a problem going up there. And no dont say "how would you know, you prob dont live in a place that gets alot of snow and bad weather" I live in MN buddy and when i first got my a4 i didnt realize it had summer tires on it and had no problems getting around in feet of snow.

@fottafazee no, it is full time torsen based quattro. Haldex is only for small models like a3, s3 and tt because they do not have longitudinal engines

@privatealpha they are 20", 9.5" wide in the rear, 8.5" wide in the front. and yes its lowered about an inch using the 402 mod.
