This song almost made me cry from all the memories that it brought back. Clapham common, Camden Town... Who else used to sit under Camden lock drinking with their mates? fucking legend material. I miss London so much. I need to come back home
what? there music barely change you douche. I hate being that say things like this, they've hardly sold out there orignal style and still perform quality music. There just popular and for that you dislike them? douche bag.
Secondly, these are probably one of the most honest, hard working bands in the UK today. I saw them support Anti Flag a year ago and they were absoultely mind blowing live. It was less of a gig and more of a gathering.
And if you listen to the album, as well as the first album 'Under The Fog', youll notice theyre as far away from Green Day as it is possible to get.
So do I. And it is. Particular the chorus (which actually sounds like a certain Green Day track which I can't put my finger on at the moment). It's not a bad thing. Of course I'm not talking about the voice or accent, but the songs sound in general. They're Green Day fans right? So I expect they would have taken some influence.
The opening sounds like one song, especially with the violin. But it's when he sings "we can live here forever without a care" it REALLY reminds me of Green Day but I still can't think which track.
lol i know lol i asked ma m8s and they known about em for ages i admit ive heard some of ther songs just never realy knew who was by lol and im usualy good with shit like that lol
I'm a bit worried at home mainstream they're becoming. They're moving furthur and furthur away from the likes of SB6 and Mouthwash, and closer to The Streets and Lilly Allen.
saww these guys on the news lol talkin about how he used to sell the big issue, and they showed a clip of this vid nd i relii liked it, its a relii good song XD
i live down in Brighton and i went to see you supporting hard-fi and you guys were better. Your fuckin great !!! Mr .music Man was the best when you back down in brighton or the O2?
Im from near manchester/liverpool (newton-le-willows), i heard about this band on radio 1, i love em tbh, not the greatest thing ever, but i would say its probably a good evolutionary path for punk although not the best.
I really dislike the new album, but loved the old one - the new one has the same message, which is good, but i wouldn't say the lyrics are incredibly well written and just doesn't do it for me musically. The live shows are still great though, can't fault them at all. Got alot of respect for these guys.
being popular doesnt mean you've sold out. And anyway the message these guys are trying to put across would be pointless if no-one could hear it, so im all for em being on radio 1 etc
gone to uni in aberdeen and all i can say is coming from leeds the scene isnt big here at all and yet these guys come out and perform in the market place infront of about 10-12 people, sell outs? I dont think so, couldn't have shown more appreciation for the fans, free too ^^/
i agree with alot of what people are saying on this post.
i fell out of the underground punk scene a long time ago, still listened to stuff but didnt get my head in it as much as i used to so i missed alot of what was going down.
But if you guys say theyve sold out i couldnt care, id rather everyone was listening to a band who can actually play and have a message to put across than watching x fucktar
This band is awesome! I've been thinking that there needs to be a sound that appeals to a wider audience but still retains that true punk spirit and I think these guys have got it right. Alot of people would never take notice of alot of bands like Discharge or Leftover Crack or whatever because their sound is so anti-social and thus they wouldn't hear what they have to say. Punk has so much potential to unite and spur people into action and I think bands like this can only help the cause.

As for selling out they aint changed there music there just getting paid for it!
They are! LISTEN TO IT, ITS NOTHING DIFFERENT TO WHAT THEY WERE DOING 2 FUCKING YEARS AGO. SAME STYLE LYRICS, SAME ANTHEMIC SONGS, SAME FEEL GOOD QUALITY, STILL AMAZING LIVE SHOWS, STILL THE SAME KIND OF MUSIC THAT CAN APPEAL TO ANYONE. They haven't change a single fucking bit. Just because they may not write a song with an off beat guitar and a ska rhythm drumbeat it doesnt make them sound any different. From what ive heard, this album is sounding as good as the last.
just because they're getting bigger doesn't mean they're sell outs
it's not like they can help it if they're getting a lot of fans and make money from it, I'm sure they're not complaining but at the end of the day if you've listened to them properly, and seen them live and heard what they talk about, you'll know that they're not sell outs and that there actually is an aim to their music.

My point was never ego related, i don't see how having a small band play in your living room is any form of ego boost, my point was that having been a fan from their living room days, i dont find the new stuff offensively different enough to turn me off.
All this talk about the King Blues becoming more mainstream I personally am happy for them the thing with bands who spend there careers on the underground scene is that they fade away but I think the King Blues are good enough to be around for a while and they deserve it because they are all about the music and there message

anti flag-since selling out suck against me-clarity was good new wave isnt afi-whatdafuck emo hit chasing gallows-epitaph in us major here green day-andrew loyd webber? gag me the offspring-pretty fly speaks 4 itself bad religion[sony output]-was shit husker du-compremised fishbone-were made to change they style less than jake-dropped the ska reel big fish-sound like new wave with horns goldfinger-dropped ska like a bad habit as soon as it wasnt cool
goldfinger have always been more pop/punk than ska...and they still do do the odd ska number...and when i saw them live half their set was ska! LTJ did drop the ska...but they started off as a 3-piece punk band anyway and they still play a lot of ska numbers in their live sets...last time i saw them they played more ska than not!
i love the king blues all im saying is that pretty much every band with the exception of sublime who went major created music that didnt have as much depth its not being succesfull that bothers me its the influence and control a major label has over a band there image and there output they control and mold into a product they can sell listen to the two against me cds for proof i havent heard the new album so i wont pass judgement on them i must say that i find myself questioning there motives
I've heard the new album. If anything it has more depth than the first. the tunes are written better and there is probably more passion.
They haven't let any mild success change them as people, they still come out and support their scene, if they are the same people i dont see why the music will be any less deep.
the king blues are quite possibly the nicest people ive ever met. awesome live band. as far as the comment about them trying to be big,im gunna be polite and just say i disagree.
there not tryina get big to make money though. there starting to get attention from more mainstream culture and there using it to there advantage, there still spreading the same message and the same idea, its just reaching more people this way.

SELLOUTs?
Music is a passion for many. Unfortunately there isnt much money in music. King blues to me seems love what they do.
Ive seen many great bands just disappear out of the underground because of financial problems.
Theirs two ways in this..letting the system use you. and using the system yourself
The king blues seems to me are doing the latter.
They are taking all the benefits from the major labal record and still spreading their great message.. dont see nothing wrong with that.

i love the king blues all im saying is that pretty much every band with the exception of sublime who went major created music that didnt have as much depth its not being succesfull that bothers me its the influence and control a major label has over a band there image and there output they control and mold into a product they can sell listen to the two against me cds for proof i havent heard the new album so i wont pass judgement on them i must say that i find myself questioning there motives

I've heard the new album. If anything it has more depth than the first. the tunes are written better and there is probably more passion.
They haven't let any mild success change them as people, they still come out and support their scene, if they are the same people i dont see why the music will be any less deep.
