  • very nice

  • I don't suppose you still have that sketch available?

  • Would this reader be able to read a tag through a wooden door?

  • where did u connect the pressure sensor?

  • @dezertfox Looks like the pressure sensor is connected to one of the analog input pins.

  • I've been searching for a setup just like this. I noticed you haven't posted the arduino sketch...Did you follow the code at the arduino(dot)cc site? Is there a way you could upload a txt file to filedropper and post the link in the video info on the right?

  • I posted my source here in the video description. You'll see it is very much like the one at arduino(dot)cc. My webserver is not very reliable, its more of a hobby PC I keep in the closet. Let me know if you have trouble accessing the file.

  • @mauricetheferret - the code you posted appears to be the full code including drivers for your stepper motors in your feeder set-up and the tag codes for the cats are hard coded in. Do you have the exact code for the experimental set-up you have above where you hold a button to enable a "program" mode and then have it read?

  • Hey, sorry about that. The new link is the correct file.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • is it possible to release the code ?

  • Do a google search for "arduino parallax rfid" and the first link you get is the one I followed for my code. I made some modifications, but nothing major.

Sorry, youtube doesn't seem to like it if I post the specific link.

Feel free to send me a message if you have any specific questions.

  • VERY NICE MAN

    Great job

  • so every other cat in the world has to have a RFID tag for this system to work?

    intruder cat,come on Mcfly!

  • Only if you want the feeder to close immediately, which may not be necessary. And, not every other cat in the world, just every other cat in the house. And, ideally I will be able to tap into the RFID microchips already implanted in most cats (though this last bit is not likely).
