lol. My cable company sent us a free replacement modem because I guess ours was old or something. We had a Linksys one just like yours and towards the end of its life it would just randomly disconnect. Now we have a Motorola basic modem compliments of our cable company. Or at least I think it was free. Not too sure.

Wireless Linksys Routers are GARBAGE. That's what we tried first when we got the second computer. The stupid thing would NOT stay connected! So we broke down and got a wired-in router. Linksys, and it works just fine, mostly. Although the ethernet plug in the back leading to the Motorola Modem comes loose and I have to hold it in place with duct tape.

I tried those tests on mine and it seemed to fix it. You didn't drop a big enough boulder at the end. Also, using real fireworks instead of firecrackers seems to work well.
