If Danzig's stuff sounds similar to anything made by anyone else, it either coincidence, or importing a bit of what Danzig and his crew respected. Danzig respects real musicians: Roy Orbinson, or Jonny Cash, for example. So of course he lets a bit of that slip into his style now & then - that's human. But don't let that overshadow his own originality and creativity. The man is an engine of good ideas, for music, for comics, for media. Anyone who says his stuff is unfit for consumption is fail.

What makes him as revolutionary as Elvis? The Misfits may have had an influence on the Horror Punk scene but outside of that they have not have had much of an influence outside of a few select bands and increasing the popularity of the crimson ghost. Danzigs music itself is very influenced and has much of its roots held in bands like the doors and their 90s wave of metal is nothing new.

@Awesomo4003 I understand your point but, respectfully, your frame of refence has to be very limited for you to say that The Misfits (and Samhain) haven't influenced much OUTSIDE the realms of horror/deathrock. The Misfits is one of the most namedropped influences for new bands, from the late 80's on up. Remember plenty of bands that don't audibly sound like the Misfits still claim to be strongly moved by Glenn's work.

what I love about this clip.. is that it looks like a Danzig fan taped this interview on a blank VHS tape back in '92, and then recently they put the old VHS tape in, and taped it with a camera focused on their TV screen to get it up on YouTube.. that's a good, old-school Danzig fan.. and I appreciate it.

JC and Chuck are both great. But man, I used to think the same about Glenn until I saw him live last year and this week. His voice sounds GREAT live. I don't know what happened but the last few records don't do his voice justice. He sounds better now than say...1998 or so. He sounded like he did back in 1994 or so.

I met him twice. The first time was at a comic store. I was too nervous to say anything except a sincere "Thanks" when he was done. He looked at me kinda shocked, then nodded and almost smiled. The second time I was better prepared, got pics and talked a minute. Very gracious. People think he fades out after a show, but you'll probly find him sitting in the door of his bus, waiting for the fans willing to take a look.

The first time I got hang out with him was in Chicago when I was a teen. I cut class with a buddy to go to a concert on other side of city. It was an old gothic theater in the middle of nowhere. The second time was what was interesting. There was a concert in Pittsburgh, and a huge snowstorm hit after the concert. My ride didn't make it on time and I was stranded. I was about to get kicked out by building security to stand out in the cold.
