Brother Percy, I was at LiJiang last year with 30 some classmates from Taiwan University and, yes, I was at this music hall. Music was excellent. I had a seat in the front, 3rd row if my memory holds, and on the right side of the stage, the smell from the restrooms kept coming like a tornado. My classmates and I almost fainted; one lady had to run out. Later on I reported this to the management.Other than this interlude,LiJiang is so beautiful and the music 1s more than wonderful!
Were you also there and had to endure that? But I love Yunnan and Shangri-la and the nightly dance at the square and the friendly faces! Thank you for posting these beautiful music!!! Keep the erffort on!

宣科，音乐民族学家。1930年出生，藏裔纳西族，云南丽江人。早年求学于昆明教会学校，挚爱并长期研究音乐。宣科的祖辈，是明朝嘉靖年间从安徽宣城移民到云南鹤庆的汉人，曾祖母是纳西族，祖母是藏族康巴贵族。他的父亲宣明德聪明过人、记忆非凡，能说7种民族语言，是纳西族第一个会说英语的人。

台上的演奏者一辈子都只是把音乐当做业余爱好，宣科先生把他们的 才华挖掘出来，没有宣科就没有我们今天所看到的纳西古乐，他的角色相当于星探，音乐策划，包装行销，经纪人，加上主持人和形象大使

天才型的人物都是給旁人很大的褒貶不一。
不管他賺多少錢進了他的私囊、還有多少他所提及的內容、尚未考證、可是他帶來的影響、貢獻、都是有目共睹。只希望沒有宣科就沒有納西音樂、而宣科百年之後、納西音樂還能繼續下去。所以這宣科老雜種（這可是他最愛的稱號。）能多活幾年、他的荷包飽飽之餘、靠他才華、再為納西文化音樂永續下去！
