I would use linux if my PC wouldn't freeze @boottime after a week of lightweight use (installed some codecs, music software, web dev software).
Happened back in '07 with OpenSUSE, and now that I got my new PC it happened again with K/Ubuntu... seems like I'll never get it to work for me... :(

can someone tell me why big software companys are not writting for linux?, why don't they start making linux versions of their software and sellling it as they would windows? as soon as this happens im moving to linux, please tell me someone as I have spent 2 hours googling and cant find out, reply to this comment!. thanks in advanced.

you have all the software on linux. they are all free. try ubuntu linux and search the software at add/remove. just check an software and it will automatically download and install. simpler than in windows.
