  • that bassist has very powerful fingers, Keiko brings together some really awesome musicians

  • Yeah....shes been amazing...saw her live at Chene Park in Detroit......didnt know at the time that I was apart of history in the making......and I always pronounced her name right...........

  • Of all the live versions I’ve seen of Keiko, this has to be the most brilliant of all—sultry and slow, fast and then smoking hot, all wrapped up in a package that makes you wish it would never end and leaves your ears begging for more. Simply genius, masterful work.

  • this is the best bass solo i've ever heard! who is that god on bass?

  • Brubeck o.O

  • wow that bassist is insane and keiko is awesome as usual

  • people have to stop using the "dislike " button for an "i dont like jazz" button

  • Dear replay button, Sorry for abusing you.

    I LOVE THIS SONG!!! =D

  • who is that at 7:19?

  • Very nice.

  • A Master at her craft <3

  • Sugoi .

  • love jazz piano

  • A talented female Japanese jazz pianist playing with the brothas. I love it!

  • Brubeck style here. Her jazz is cleaner though has lots of space making the composition really exquisite. the best bass player for me.

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love the comp and love that jazz!!!

  • what year is this from?

  • She is gifted!!!

  • I love her music!

  • Very "Jarrettian left hand" at the beginning reminds me of God bless the child on the first standard lp

  • Must have been a small crowd- their claps at the end sound like those old school clubs where they just 'snap' their fingers...

  • keiko is a genius

  • she has a strong point of view. nice solo

  • I saw her and her husband at the San Diego Jazz Festival..this is when I became interested in their music. I saw he at the Newport Beach,Jazz festival too..both California.

  • very nice, great song

  • She's got a wonderful style.

    Love it!

  • yeah we have the right to express ourselves but not using terms such as "take her out with one hit". this is music, not a boxing ring. I love Hiromi, but they both have different styles and I think a comparison is not very valid here. Yeah Hiromi is faster but both of their music is just as beautiful. Glad you dont fuck mothers.. most of them have little kids you know. mother fuckers are NOT COOL !

  • nice :)

  • definitely

  • Don't do it motherfucker!! No! Stop right there I mean it! Do not make this another Youtube my daddy is bigger than your daddy! Step back! take it back! and apprieciate this for what it is....beautiful music played by a monster talent! btw yeah I dig Hiromi too but I'd pay to see Keiko and be very happy too. Peace and love

  • 1. I do not fuck mothers...

    2. I think as fans we have every right to express ourselves any which way we want.

    3. It was simply a comparison, if nothing more.

  • Me too

    thought y'r in Iraq

  • GROOVING has Nothing to do with speed

Petrucciani can play one same note during 8 seconds

and it still swings like hell

There is an ex drummer on piano

because his wife goes away with drums

    and he swings like heaven

(and only ask God to blame only

the AWOLS who have sent you there

    )

    She will understand

  • awesome music! She is great.

  • an homage to Birdland? cool

  • awesome song...i mean...instrumental?

    haha. Nevertheless, it's great.

  • wow, my dad played bass like that: upside down. (left handed, on a right handed bass)

  • oh my god amazing !

  • I definitely remember the night she played in Istanbul as one of my favorite nights... Even though I knew all the songs, it was amazingly refreshing thing to hear her live versions. But it's not just the less-than-subtle variations from the cds, her songs are totally captivating when live... Sit and listen closely :)

  • Wonderful to see and hear!

  • just amazing!

  • one of her better songs

  • Hearing Keiko play On Green DOlphin Street is a MUST!

She is heavily influenced by the late, great Bill Evans -- her "On Green" version is full of energy and motion, she kicks ass!!

  • I love and respect this wonderful, Soulful, Jazzful, classical, talented woman!!! Not only is this video awesome to watch, but if you ever get the opportunity to see her in concert you'll be pleased. To feel the bass lines and to see the effects around her music will leave you mesmerized! Mrs. Keiko Matsui is so wonderful. I am a true fan of her talent and music.

  • Me too. I wish I have meerly enough money to see one of her live show.

  • ^_^

  • yay! this is an awesome video, thanks so much for posting!
