Wow, they're both great wrestlers. I think Hendricks would have won 3 out of 4 times but that day it just wasn't his time. Not to take anything away from Perry. He's a great wrestler too. I didn't understand the false start calls there. Those guys were just too fast for me to see it I guess.

John redshirted a year at Ok State, I happened to be there then, and Clar Anderson won a national title for Ok State at 134 which was John's weight so they could have worked something out but perhaps Mark wanted to establish himself elsewhere. PERRY IS ONE OF IF NOT THE MOST EXCITING WRESTLERS IN THE HAWKS HISTORY, I think that he understands his uncles position, and it doesnt matter how many times hendricks could have ,should have , or did beat perry, perry is and always will be a national champ and he beat hendricks and smith to do it. kids awesome and will be missed by the hawk fans

Well theres a difference between competition and respect after its over. It of course was Smith's responsibility to do everything he could to make sure Hendricks won. However, after it was over Smith should have shaked hands with Perry simply for being a cempetitor, not to mention his nephew. Maybe I dont know the whole story but it seems classless.

I've watched several of Hendricks matches online, but I don't understand why people love to hate him. They refer him as NCAA Wrestling's Terrell Owens, anyone care to explain this?

Because he's cocky and in last year's NCAA finals vs Ryan Churella, it was very controversial because he was stuck, 2 takedowns were given that weren't really takedowns (might have been 3?), and the ref who is generally good was very TERRIBLE.

Then, Johnny went around the stadium and waved his school's flag around in a flamboyant manner.

Great match. I think Hendricks got a bad rap as being a bad guy. He's not. Those two guys are very evenly matched. Did those back points seem a little iffy to anyone? I seem to think that if they wrestled 10 times that Hendricks would win the majority and maybe the vast majority of those matches. But in the biggest match Perry came through. You got to hand it to him. Great match.

I never said he was looking for him, I just think its a very tasteless act to not shake the opponets hand at the end of the match, especially when its your nephew. If you watch last years match between mocco and konrad, mocco lost, but he still stuck around and shook konrads hand. Why wouldnt he stick around and shake his nephews?
