I was stationed itn Plattsburgh from 1988-1990. I remember downtown was getting bad at the point, we as military people were not even allowed to go into half the bars downtown...If memory servers me correct there was a place called Brothers that was bad news..
@greenday336: I got my BS-Accounting 12.18.2011; Yeah, I'm old, but not dead. Back in '81 the drugs were not that intense. Maybe it got worse, don't know, wasn't there. But the police presence was the f*cking LAW, NO chance in court for PSUC and with the Air Force Base still there, the sh*t got scary at times. You just had to know where "your part of town was". Going to the "Townie Bars" could get you in the E.R. really quick. "Best years of my life"!!! Jim; Phoenix, AZ; since Fall 2000=NO SNOW.
I went to PSUC Sept. 1979 - Dec. 18. 2011; There were a lot a bars in just a couple of blocks and drunk people do drunk things. There were so many people stuffed in one bar that the pool table collapsed including the people around it. I never felt unsafe going downtown. But it was packed like sardines, and people just exploded with rage. Current students with the technology can record what's going on. Back in 1981, we had no chance against the police. I've seen bigger "riots" in Wal*Mart! Jim.
ya I was there too. It may not have been a full out riot, but it was very intense. 1 of my firends got arrested, which was the start of it. stupid open container laws.

it was more intense than it seems from this video, there was another arrest that i didnt get, at one point the crowd was chanting fuck the police, yeah sure it may not be as hardcore as things got in the 80s but everyone was hopped up on coke in the 80s
That is what you call a riot? I lived in Plattsburgh in the 80's and downtown would have groups of between 50 and 100 people fighting downtown, not just looking on. Police would be everywhere trying to break up the brwals. What you have on video is police making an arrest downtown and a smart ass with no balls yelling at the police. Not very interesting and definately not a riot.
@mb12901 A riot is what my roommate called it, I wasn't there. And I have no doubt that things were more hardcore in the 80's... most of the drunken idiots around there are definitely pussies.
