i love 60's girl groups and i love hollywood icons. this is a perfect tribute. i kinda feel bad for natalie wood, because it is obvious that sal mineo adored james dean, and that j.d. loved the attention (not to mention the unmentionable). rock hudson in the movie 'giant' was his love interest, not elizabeth taylor. don't get it twisted.

Darlene Love IS the lead singer on this cut. It was released under the "Crystals" name by Phil Spector, who managed both groups. Darlene was with the "Blossoms" at the time!

It's funny the moment I heard this song, I immediately thought of James Dean. Because to many he was the quintessential rebel who did his own thing, in his own way. I just think he was different and misunderstood. Like the song say's he's no rebel no, no, no, no to me. RIP Jimmy!!

It was credited as the Crystals, but it was actually Darlene Love and the Blossoms. The Crystal's couldn't get to L.A. in time to record the song, so Spector used the Blossoms instead. type the song title in wikipedia for more info...

This song was one of my absolute favorite songs when I was a little girl growing up in the 1980s! I loved this song to death and whenever it came on the radio I got wide-eyed with excitement and happiness. Now I'm reaching back to that era more and more and am glad to find out I still enjoy this song. Thanks for posting it!
