The only reason I hate the girl version for harvest moon games if because most of the time, all the guys are fugly. Seriously. In the guy version, all the girls you can marry are cute. I would have gotten that version (Harvest moon DS. Guy version) but it has really horrible glitches.. (Ones wear it while randomly delete all your data and make you start from scratch)

HMDS cute was the first harvest moon game I ever got and I know beauty is only skin deep, but the lack of cute guys really angered me. I ended up marrying Kai, my sister went after Skye besides those two and the bachelorettes I pretty much ignored everyone else in the village until winter then I'd just ignore the bachelors . . .
