@klaudkil P4 is overall better. It is shorter by a little bit and there are less parts where the game drags. Also in P3 you cannot control the other party members directly in battle which is a pain unless you have PSP version. Both are amazing though. P3 story but P4 gameplay.

Dragon Quest 8 was good, but I'm not sure I'd list as one of my top 5. MAYBE top 10, but I've played a LOT of rpgs, good and bad. I remember reading one of the reviews from Gamefly (IGN or Gamespot) that it was supposedly "the best-selling rpg in Japan", and now that I've played it, that seems kind of an absurd and probably wrong claim to make. DQ8 is REALLY the top-selling RPG in Japan of all time??

I was sad to not see one ps1 game on here, like Legend of Dragoon or Lunar. Also, for my two cents, Persona does not = better than FF. Ever. Maybe everyone has played the hell out of final fantasy games, but if you were to play anything from 4-10 for the first time, and compare it to the dating sim "real-life" gameplay of persona, there is no question which is better.

Dragon Quest VIII is so great because it did what Final Fantasy X and XII (XI doesn't count) left behind in FFIX: An open world and the ability to fly. Of course, there are other reasons why it's great but that's the main reason.
