@The3dJohn Yes, that's correct. You can keyframe any 3d objects in the scene and it will stay locked to the track, just don't adjust the camera's keyframes.
Help! I did everything you showed me. I merged a robot I made into my footage but when I finished rendering (4 hours) it wasn't tracked with the footage. What could I have done wrong?
Hi, I have a problem. I made the motion tracking in 50 fps and now when I'm done and I put the image sequence into After Effects, the sequence is in 30 fps. When I change the composition to 50 fps, nothing happens, and I'm unabled to change the fps of the TIFF sequence. So what do I do? I would really appreciate an answer.
dont mean to spam but when i try to render in cinema 4d it doesnt save to where i made it save, it just basically makes a bunch of pictures rather than a movie, but i can't find them... Please respond... What do i dooooo!?
Should i use Cinema 4D ????? can't i just bring it back from Boujou after tracking when i dont need to add 3d objects or the 3d objects which are created in after effects only ??? please answer :) .
I have a problem with my Boujou...when i camera solve a real life footage it only solves like 30% why is that? and when i load an tracked path in cinema 4d it's all up-side-down and everything...i hope you can respond to that :D nice tutorial it helped
At the start of this video yours doesnt move with the camera because you edited the text file but i edited the text file the right way and it still doesnt work for me :( HELP
@ScopezUniQue If you're on windows, then you need to make sure you "replace all" in notepad when you're editing in notepad. Remember, doesn't effect your track, just un-parents the tracker from cam
@SuperPointlessStuff Properly a codec issue. You need to export the material video from AE using a different codec. Try exporting as uncompressed MOV.
hi man great track motion... i have a problem in Cinema 4d when I import the tracking point to c4d the plane grid is not align to the floor of the footage.. what i do Wrong? please thanks anyways.. great day
Best Boujou tutorial on YouTube man! I downloaded it just now and I had no former experience with 3D motion tracking what so ever! No I got a great final result thanks to you :D!!!
When I'm rendering this out, it's giving me ridiculous render times, how long is it usually? When I tried rendering it as a .mov it said 2000+ days, when I set it as a .tif it was taking about 6 minutes per frame and there were about 1300 frames. Nothing is wrong with my computer (to make it run slow) but didn't know if I was doing something wrong?
Hey Master. Lets say the cam is on a car and driving down a road. Would you select a node in the beginning and one on the end of the road? or add more than 1 Z axis, If you car turns 90 degrees at the end road your x and z would effectively swap right?
I've done this already 1 time correct... i succeeded. now doing it again but when adding material in c4d and taking my .AVI file to texture its BLACK :o
@boobnator go to AF again and put the video in! Than go and export it at 24 frames or what you have so the video file will be a bit bigger in size than hit import and it will work!
@jakobnabialek Yes, while in cinema 4d or some other 3d app, you can place 2d planes with photo textures on them. But they will be flat obviously, but will stay in the proper perspective. You can also add a "target to camera" tag which will allow the photos to rotate to always face the 3d camera. This will give you some pretty cool results.
Very good tutorial but I still have any problems!!
The trackin in boujou it's very good but when I export it for cinema 4d and when I create the background and put the video, the object are moving very much....
@putraspiel If the track in boujou looks good, then there are several things you need to check for... be sure the project settings frame rate in boujou matches your footage. FYI: Once you set your frame rate during the importing process, sometimes the frame rate defaults back to the wrong rate. Be sure your frame rate matches in cinema 4d as well by checking the project settings (cmd+D or crtl+D for pcs). Then when you export from cinema 4D, the frame rate needs to match.
@BradLeeFilms As you may know, you can have several projects opened at once in Cinema 4D. So, just open your 3d model project, then open the c4d file from boujou with your motion tracking data. Then go to the "Windows" tab in Cinema 4D, and at the bottom of the menu you can swap between the 2 different projects. Just copy the 3d model from the one project, and then paste it into the c4d boujou project.
thanks for the great video. However, there is one problem: when I uncheck the "seen by camera" box in the compositing tag, an error appears and cinema 4d shuts down. are you familiar with this kind of problem? thanks for reading, appreciate your videos
ok when i have exported it from boujou and done the text edit in the other episode now when i come to open it up in cinema 4d it say 'unknown file format' i am going to sub scribe to anyone who can help me with this
@TaKNclan There have been several other people that asked me about this very same issue. Start with a fresh c4d file from Boujou. Then be sure you replace "ALL" of the ParentItem 10000001 to ParentItem 10000002. If you're using notepad on a PC, there is a "replace all" option so that you can replace everything at once and not one at a time. Let me know if you're still having issues.
Ok two things. when you are load the first image into c4d do you load the first image in the sequence? and also it can only go up to 25 fps on mine even though my img sequence is set to 30 fps
@xSerpentz You'll want to load a video file of some kind (mov or avi). You can't import the img seq. C4D will see it as only 1 frame or image. Second, boujou can do various frame rates, i.e. 15, 24, 25, 30, 60. C4D can do whatever frame rate you want. You can change the frame rate in C4D by pressing command + D, or Crtl + D on the pc and then you can modify the project settings there. Hope you get it.
@VidMuze Yea i ended up seeing what you did because i got windows 7 so it was a little different for me but i ended up making it and thanks so much for the help. ill post your link in my next video for people to see :)
@GoProExperiments Hmm, odd. As long as you follow every step while modifying the c4d file, then after saving it in your text editor, and then opening it in C4D, it should work.
You can send my the c4d file straight out of boujou and I can modify it on my end to see if I'm having the same issues. Hit me up with a link.
hey mike just wondering why my text doesnt seem to be unparented after i did that crap in text edit. like it all looks good and stuff but when i render my text is jumping around almost looking like it is still parented or something. any suggestions would be great thanks
@WeyHighDesigns Editing the c4d with a text editor is only going to affect the track points from being unparented from the camera. This is only a reference change, meaning this will not effect your final track. So even if you don't modify the file, if the track was good in boujou, it will work in C4D. How did your track look in Boujou? Be sure to double check your frame rate and make sure boujou, c4d and your raw footage all match.
@VidMuze My track looked amazing in boujou the ladybug was tracked perfect. Then after i did the text edit stuff i opened the file in cinema 4d and did all the other stuff put some mo text in my project and then it seemed like it was jumping around randomly. I dont understand how the text can move when really only tthe camera is moving?? and for the fram rate thing i made sure everything was 30fps so thats not the problem. the only thing i can think is the camra movement was to jumpy
@VidMuze the smooth parts of my video didnt look to bad but anytime the camera jumped a little the words would move around in my scene. should i use a tripod or something to make my shots smoother? would that help the tracking??? thanks
@WeyHighDesigns As long as there is a solid track, your footage can be very shaky and it won't matter, the track will match the footage just fine. Does your camera move up and down in elevation at all with your footage? If so, then you're going to need to set up a 4th coordinate and link 2 trackers to the Y axis.
I've done everything fine so far but it's when i import the video into C4D it's just a black box as the material and when i render it's just black. I've tried different file types but nothings worked.
@Innders From After Effects, on output module, click lossless, then choose quicktime as the format, then choose format options and be sure Animation is chosen on the video codec menu. Also, make sure your frame rates match your track from Boujou (30 or 24... stay away from 23.976 and 29.97 frame rates).
when i bring my boujou track points into cinema 4d they track well (after changing the file over) but when I add the floor plane it does not match the ground of my footage. When I add text it just kinda floats around and does not match up with the ground. Any suggestions? Scene Geometry?
@TheHowToMac If your track looks great in boujou, but not in cinema 4d, then yes, the scene geometry is not set up correctly. This is the hardest to setup and sometimes takes a couple of tries. Be sure you choose the origin tracker that is already on the "floor" in boujou.
@misterthomas32 You can ad more shadows by adding more light sources with soft or hard shadows depending on the original lighting from your footage, or you can increase the illumination on your material that you have applied to your sky.
in the first vid, you said that the original footage would be used for the final output in after effects, but in this one it appeared that when you rendered from c4d the video file was rendered out with the 3d objects as well. would ti be better to render out just the objects and then composite back in AE or is the quality just as good from c4d? can you explain that part a little more? i watched it a couple times, but i still probably missed something. great tutorial by the way!!
@lyshaboy4 Thanks for pointing that out... At timecode: 1:25 I explain about re-exporting your clips from AE to use as your material in C4D. To further explain... I went ahead a exported a full res MOV file which I used in C4D. When rendering from C4D, as long as you keep the same res settings, yes, C4D will maintain the full quality. There are more steps with exporting masks from C4D to use in AE to help with the compositing that I did not do in this tut. Hope that helps.
@VidMuze hello I got a question because something really pisses me off about the C4D part, when opening it in C4D my tracker points aren't on the right spots they're zoomed out really far so I can't track the (in my case) text on the plane I'm using.
I can message you with a screenshot if u don't understand what I mean.
@MegaBRT Did you want the first part of this tutorial? When you export the c4d file from boujou, you need to modify it somewhat in order to "unparent" the trackers from the 3d camera before you open it in cinema 4d. If you have more questions, you can go to the forums on our vidmuze.com website and I'll help you out the best that I can.
Quick question, the tracking part is works fine, but when i do the camera solve it take a long time to do. Is it my footage? or do i have a slow computer? I got an imac 10.6, has a 2.8 processor with 4 GB of memory.
One of the best tuts on this matter, I subscribed,
what if I want it that sphere to move around in circles how would I do it. Keyframe it? will it still stick to the track.
The3dJohn 2 days ago
@The3dJohn Yes, that's correct. You can keyframe any 3d objects in the scene and it will stay locked to the track, just don't adjust the camera's keyframes.

misterthomas32 4 months ago

Please help me

@MegaBRT Did you want the first part of this tutorial? When you export the c4d file from boujou, you need to modify it somewhat in order to "unparent" the trackers from the 3d camera before you open it in cinema 4d. If you have more questions, you can go to the forums on our vidmuze.com website and I'll help you out the best that I can.

How do you make it render like that so I can preview what it looks like in Final Render?
TeheRJ 4 months ago in playlist More videos from VidMuze
Quick question, the tracking part is works fine, but when i do the camera solve it take a long time to do. Is it my footage? or do i have a slow computer? I got an imac 10.6, has a 2.8 processor with 4 GB of memory.

@FRTtrier Thanks! Is the youtube video black or something else?
VidMuze 5 months ago
@VidMuze Yes but i konvert it to avi with ae and it Works
Is it right watch?v=2VseU61nvoo ?
FRTtrier 5 months ago
@FRTtrier Oh, your material was black. Yeah it sounds like a codec problem. If you export from AE as a mov, you shouldn't have any issues.
