Man, I don't think this is colorcode, but rather anaglyph yellow/blue. Colorcode 3D is a little different, you won't be able to see this properly with the amber/blue Colorcode. iz3d doesn't do colorcode, which works a little differently.
Colorcode uses yellow/blue anaglyph glasses with darker lenses to try and optimize the colour effect, but they are still yellow/blue anaglyph glasses.
It's not as optimized as if coloorcode made the processing but it still works.
Colorcode 3D (tm) encodes depth information and brightness on the right (blue) channel and colour on the left (amber) channel. It's not the same as yellow/blue anaglyph and iZ3D currently doesn't support Colorcode (you can check the forums, there have been some discussions and they couldn't include Colorcode because of licensing issues). This wouldn't work with actual Colorcode glasses (amber/blue). It would work with anaglyph yellow/blue, though.
You are here describing the colorcode optimized colour encoding process very well. But as far as the glasses go, if you drop the marketing terms from colorcode website, they are just dark yellow/blue filters.
I use the word "colorcode glasses" because they are the biggest promoter for this type of anaglyph glasses and most peple who own yellow/blue glasses are colorcode glasses.
IZ3D indeed stated they cannot officially support colorcode because colorcode is a brand.
GTA 4 works with iZ3D in fact I just played around with it for a few hours. It's pretty cool. It brings the FPS right down though since you need to frames for normal frame.
What's the difference between the red/blue glasses and the yellow/blue ones? I have red/blue ones but the colours are pretty messed up with those on.. are they too with these?
There is no magic : glasses with coloured lenses will always mess up the colours. Yellow/blue glasses are said to provide more "natural" colours than red/cyan but if you want accurate colours, there is no magic : coloured lenses won't cut it, you need a proper 3d monitor.
Hey,you don't need a 3D monitor to play games in 3D,you just need the IZ3D anaglyph drivers.I am playing several games in 3D using my old 21" CRT,and a pair of yellow/blue glasses. Most DirectX games will work. What's more, you can download the drivers FREE from their site!
Try looking at the video with one eye closed. If you can still see two distinct objects, then you need to do some color correcting to make only one object viewable. Repeat this with the other eye to make sure. For a good example, see the video "Monsters VS Aliens Trailer in 3D HD" and pause it when the paddleball is streched out (ex.0:08). Even that video needs color correction.
Great job on showing us that it's not limited to major production companies!
worked for me, I actually got a little sick to my stomach too, but then again,I took a couple percocets an hour ago for my back.. But my daughter saw it just fine too & we both jumped a few times when they ran at the "player"
There should be a Left 4 Dead 3 for the 3DS.

So you're saying Yellow/Blue "Optimized" is actually the same as the trademarked Colorcode process?
metabog 2 years ago
Yes but it's the other way around.
"Optimized" just means that the colours have been altered in some way to look better. Anyone can use a different way for optimizing anaglyph.
Colorcode uses it's own patented way to "optimize" yellow/blue anaglyph content and asks money for it.

Thanks for the reply ^^ I'm reading some topics about those colorcode glasses, but I think I might just wanna stick to the red/cyan ones :) thanks!

no you do not need an iZ3D monitor, their drivers work with many display types including coloured glasses on regular monitor as showed on this video.
look for tutorials/manuals on how to use the 3D driver.
BlackSharkfr 2 years ago
it depends entirely on your computers specifications.

i tried to install nvidias drivers for this but all it did was mess up my original drivers, made the zombies turn pure white also weird oh well
SonnoMaku 3 years ago
I do not use the nvidia stereo-3D drivers, just the normal drivers of my graphics card and use the iZ3D driver for generating 3D instead.

You need to adjust your depth, the blue is off...

the answer is too long for youtube comments, i sent you a PM with al the details
BlackSharkfr 3 years ago
When you install the driver make sure you set a full or custom installation to install the free "anaglyph" output.
Normally, when you get the message about not detecting the monitor, just click ok to continue and it should install.

You are noticing a phenomenon called crosstalk (also called 3D ghosting) : parts of the image assigned to an eye goes to the wrong eye.
This is a limitation of the colored glasses technique. There are two reasons for this :
Video compression causes about half of the crosstalk because of color subsampling, then add Youtube low quality recompression.
The other half is the very cheap color filter used in the cardboard glasses letting some light bleed through the filters.

do you NEED an iz3d monitor?
teamradiationgaming 3 years ago
no
I don't have one
BlackSharkfr 3 years ago
To play with the superbowl glasses, you need to install the iz3d driver.
Set it to anaglyph output and choose the yellow/blue colors.
Before starting a game, activate the driver by clicking "enable stereo by hotkey" and click apply.
Learn the driver hotkeys on your numpad.
* to activate/deactivate the 3D effect
+/- to tweak the separation (strength of 3d effect)
shift +/- to tweak convergence (pop-out vs depth)
Recording a video is more complicated though !
if you need more help send me a PM.
