  • fucking awesome dude how much you squatting now and how much you weigh?

  • Btw you should take big deep breaths, in through the mouth and out through the mouth, not fast shallow breaths. Your chest should blow up like a balloon by the end of the workout, the breathing is crucial, that's why they are known as breathing squats :)

  • @marxistsoldier first of all if all else fails you can just dump the weight off your back...ive done it before...its not that dangerous. second of all if you paid any attention at all i did take deep breaths before the reps.....the fast shallow breaths is because i'm out of breath. believe me...i know why they're called breathing squats....

  • You're supposed to take big deep breaths inbetween reps, not fast shallow breaths like u are taking.

  • Is this your 10 rep max for 20 then? Doing 20 rep squats without a power rack takes big balls or a lack of brain cells, either one lol.

  • Sooo fucking nuts!

  • We need more men like this in the world. Guys who look normal have the heart of Lion.

  • that was a killer nice job

  • Damn - I felt that one right along with you. I need a nap myself after watching that one.

  • Nice fucking effort man.

  • Very nice effort. Question about your breathing...when I do twenty rep squats I take 3 breaths for the first 10-15 reps and a huge overbreath on the last breath...I find this gives me a good rhythm & hence good control for the set...do you find taking 8-12+ breaths more energizing for the next rep especially when you are tiring at the end? Way I see have always seen it is more breaths = longer time standing supporting weight = less energy for next rep. I never take more than 7 at most. ???

  • Nice and deep, freaking awesome!

  • i wish i could do this without going through so much pain lol. But I guess its what you have to do to get results eh?

  • Props on continuing to go deep every single rep, even towards the end. It's so tempting to want to stop higher and higher the more tired you get.

  • fucking incredible. this guy has no gym membership, no trainer---he doesn't even have a fucking power rack. no---he's just grinding it out in his fucking garage. whatever it takes to get huge.

that's the heart of a champion. keep it up, kid.

  • nice work bro..taking it off those racks counts as one rep :-)

  • That was a great effort. Nice and deep. You also crushed the pain barrier.

  • Intense, man. Good job on these. Just finished my first 225x20 today! Accidentally only went parallel on some reps though, so may end up redoing it next week. How's your back doin?

  • Fantastic.

  • dude how much do you weigh

  • only about 180lbs...and i'm 5'10"

  • WOW! Thats hardcore! Good form. A little deeper than you need to go, but i think thats better than riding them too high. My goal next time I do squats is 180x20 and 185x20. I do 2 sets each workout. Not anything to brag about but it's alot more than when I started training. And I'm a 6' 1'' 180lb bean pole so that don't help things either. Oh well

  • i tried 225x20 today and only got 15...was so out of breath but it felt so light and my legs weren't even tired...do you do any endurance training?

  • Nope. I don't do any endurance training other than playing a game of racquetball very rarely...but not dedicated endurance training. 20 rep squats will increase your endurance greatly. If the weight felt light you should have just taken more breaths between reps and no doubt you could have gotten 20. Keep adding reps every workout!

  • try harder.

  • That was a great set. Believe it or not, you have even more in you. With a taller squat-rack, it would be easier to unrack the barbell before you start. Very inventive, and a lot of heart. Better than most trainees! I subscribe! Regards, stallion (180kg x 20 reps from t-nation challenge)

  • Thanks stallion. Yeah I figured out how to make the bench into a squat rack...its not perfect but its better than the sawhorses. I got 235x20 a week after this vid but then hurt my lower back before I could try 245.

  • One day you will get a rack. *With your attitude nothing can stop you.

  • hahaha I remember how that felt. My squat shot up 50 pounds in 6 weeks for five reps.
