Most cannot get past exteriors. Malcolm X was a man of distinction. Most of all, he was a man who came from the ashes. After his trip to Mecca, he realized that his previous stance was inefficient. He sought to change everything before his death. It would have been amazing to see what he accomplished. Most get stuck on the fact that he was a muslim. @spazzdineveryway The main reason Malcolm was, and still is hated and misunderstood by many, is because he exposed the downright ugly truth of White American racism in the 1960's and its historical roots. It's an ugly truth which he wasn't going to sugar coat in the way that MLK did. MLK was more effective because his stance was more compromising, and sounded non threatening. Malcolm expressed how pissed off Black people were that they were being denied their basic constitutional rights.
