I have a Kimber Pro TLE II that's having a feeding problem, the slide fails to return to battery due to the casings getting stuck on the bolt face as if they are too wide for the extractor. Also, when it ejects, the rounds hit me dead center in the top of the head 6 times out of 7.. I'm about to take the extractor out and adjust it, and i have a feeling this will be exactly what the doctor ordered. . but if not, where else should i look? Also, excellent video!
@donalbaine Check the hook on the extractor while you have it out and make sure all the edges are crisp and smooth. Also check the feed ramp and it sound be smooth as glass. Those would be the first things to check out.
Hi I posted a video response on a problem I have with failure to extract/eject. I followed your steps and it has improved but I still have the same problem every couple of magazines. I assumed this was due to the extractor being too loose so I tightened it but it is still a bit of a problem. What do you think?
nice vid... thanks for the info. took my slide apart for the first time while watching... extractor was filthy. cleaned it up and seemed to help my nose diving problem.
@BrandorT Depending on round counts it can gft pretty nasty inside there and cause all kinds of issues. Glad to here it seems to have fixed the problem. If you continue to have feeding problems let me know and we'll see what we can come up with.
Read about this and knew how to disassemble the FP, FPS and extractor, but the visualization of bending the extractor and the information provided was enough for me to get my Kimber Eclipse Pro II extracting withing beaming me in the head. Thanks
Outstanding video. Thank you for the great info, reading about this helped, but seeing you do it really answered many questions I had about extractors.
Excellent video! I have searched the internet several times over trying to fix my jamming issue in my Series 70. This fixed it, thank you for the great post! Well documented.
Thanks man for the video! I have a trp that I was having problems with and the tension setting really helped me and the test withe empty and live shell case helped! Its alot better than putting it all back together and then taking it apart again to test by hand cycling rounds! Thanks again.-Rob
it a horse shoe shaped deal that has a bolt that screws in the middle that adds or reduces tension based on which way you put the extractor in it. thee is no unit of measure on it so it is still a feel thing. The tool cost like a hundred bucks but a good machinist could make it for about $2.
Depends on it the case will stay in the slide, under shaking. If it stays with a forceful shake then your too tight. if it falls out without shaking your too loose. It's a fine balance.

So you can get beamed ether way
bigdaddyitalia22 1 year ago
@bigdaddyitalia22
It's possible but most likely when it is too loose, usually when it is too tight it will jam the pistol.

U da man I just bought my kimber and I'm getting beamed I'n the head other wise I love it
So if I get you right just be releasing tension on the extractor I'll be good
