the corporations want you to have this mindset. Monsanto has released this mindset that has flourished among the less educated population. The truth is, we must change our system. Organic farming can be sustained, using GMOs cannot. Because of monoculture, the topsoil is half of where it was 50 years ago. I estimate we have 30 more years until we need to make a HUGE change. By the way, I used to own a GMO farm, then my wife died from the toxins. Been farming organically for 10 years :)
@ThorAusRotten watch the episode, they did. These guys are professional and have a team of scientists and researchers. These guys are probably the least ignorant people on TV
@TheD0RKNIGHT okay, you're right, i should watch the whole episode, maybe i'm missing something. is it sarcastic? because they don't know what they're talking about. highly efficient chemical fertilizer? waiting till it rains? letting bugs eat the produce? they don't know the first thing about organic farming, judging by this.
@ThorAusRotten all i can say is that the episode is on youtube in two or three parts. watch it, if you disagree that okay. or maybe they will change your mind
@TheD0RKNIGHT Numerous peer reviewed studies suggest coffee reduces cancer risk about 30% on average. If you believe this video, can you provide evidence that coffee has 1000 times more cancer risk than pesticide residue? You would have to post a peer reviewed study suggesting pesticide residue reduces cancer risk 30,000%. Do you realize how insane the anti-organic claims in this video are? P&T are magicians, they get paid to trick you!
@TheD0RKNIGHT A team of scientists and researchers? LMAO! You mean, Alex Avery(wikipedia states"New York Times pointed out that Avery`s non-profit employer has received funding from Monsanto Company") and Ronald Bailey(wikipedia states"he earned a B.A. in philosophy and economics", no mention of a degree in food and nutrition, etc.). Penn and Teller are "professional" magicians, who get paid to trick you!
@556deltawolf Don't make false statements in the comments, unless you want people to correct you! You have been tricked by magicians who don't reference a single study to back their claims. If anyone here is a troll it is you! Making false claims and running your mouth about people without any evidence to back any of it up is trolling!
@myndy86 Penn and Teller are NOT and I repeat NOT being paid by agricultural businesses to criticize organic foods. Second, where the hell did you hear that coffee information from? I cannot find a single peice of RELIABLE evidence that supports your coffee statement. The only reason you hate Penn and Teller and the anti organic people are because they are not on line with you. Now would you let people make there own decisions and stop pretending like you know what people need.
@556deltawolf Type "Penn and Teller BS: Organic Food Myths Debunked (Excerpt)" in the youtube search. Go to 5:30 on that video, to see the "coffee has 1000 times more cancer risk than pesticide residue". If you are questioning my claim that, coffee reduces cancer risk for most cancers by an average of 30%, I will glady provide links to studies. Then perhaps you will see Penn and Teller and the anti-organic in this video are just making insane claims, without evidence to support them.

You said " I cannot find a single peice of RELIABLE evidence that supports your coffee statement." so, either you didn't look or you think dozens of studies aren't reliable!
Damnit, where is the rest of this episode? I can find full length episodes of nearly all of bullshit except this one, only bits and pieces. Is this episode on youtube and I'm just not finding it?
@diogotomediogo By EPIC, do you mean MORONIC? If you mean that you agree with Penn and Teller in this episode, then can you provide evidence to back up this episodes claim that coffee has 1000 times more cancer risk than pesticide residue? Most studies suggest coffee reduces cancer risk about 30% on average. So, you would need to provide a study suggesting pesticide residue reduces cancer risk 30,000%. Do you see how insane most of these anti-organic claims are?
@myndy86 Good post. In every circumstance of which I'm aware coffee is protective (one of the only antioxidant-rich foods consumed by most Americans).
@Turtleluver26 Anyone who liked this video and the rest of the episode, either didn`t do any research or is a competitor of organic. This episode claims coffee has 1000 times more cancer risk than pesticide residue, yet most studies suggest coffee reduces cancer risk for most cancers by an average of 30%. That would mean pesticide residue reduces cancer risk 30,000%! I can go on, but can you see how insane these anti-organic claims are? P&T get paid to trick you!
@Bookbag85 Anyone who liked this video and the rest of the episode, either didn`t do any research or is a competitor of organic. This episode claims coffee has 1000 times more cancer risk than pesticide residue, yet most studies suggest coffee reduces cancer risk for most cancers by an average of 30%. Can you provide studies saying pesticide residue reduces cancer risk 30,000%? Do you see how insane these anti-organic claims are? Penn &Teller get paid to trick you!
1. Genetically modified seeds are heavily taxed by the companies that pioneer them. Farmers must pay out the ass yearly to buy them and aren't allowed to hoard them.
2. There is such a thing as "organic" pesticides.
3. GM is human's answer to overpopulation. It's a cheap knockoff way to deal with the fact we are not meant to be this populated. It's no more natural than making ETOH, nicotine, opium, or even marijuana. Man playing "god" is not necessarily a blessing.
@someotherguyyouknow By your logic it is natural for someone to kill most life on earth with nuclear weapons etc., because that is within human capabilities. Even if that is "natural" that wouldn't be acceptable to anyone, unless they are completely sadistic. GM foods pose significant risks, several of which have already occurred, such as GM contamination, herbicide resistant weeds, pesticide resistant insects, etc., which have already caused billions in economic losses.
Why do so many humans assume they exist outside of the natural order of things? Humans have evolved by the process of natural selection, just like every other organism that has ever lived on this planet (I would cite Darwin as a reference here). Humans can only use that which the Earth gives them. Therefore we, who are simply part of the universe like everything else, cannot do anything which goes against the laws of nature.
@bigbadw0lfify Find an organic food and same variety of conventional food that weigh the same. You will probably notice even though they weigh the same, the organic food is smaller. That is because organic contains more dry matter and conventional contains more water(conventional wastes water and has less nutrients because of this). Organic produces higher yields in poor countries and reduces hunger and poverty. Penn hates poor people, which is why he hates organic.
Penn has went off on this before in GQ, but I cant find the article. Organic is less hardy and makes alot smaller vegetables an fruits, for more money
@DiscoDude82 Most studies suggest organic produces more money especially for poor countries. You will have to add h t t p : / / w w w . at he beginning of the link, without the spaces. unctad.org/en/docs/ditcted200715_en.pdf
Too all of those arguing over which one is better, keep in mind which one produces more money and if any part of it is taxed/subsidized by the MAN (gov't).
@Ekergaard Organic fertlizers are more efficient than synthetic. Synthetic causes leaching, nitrogen is poorly absorbed compared to organic, causes soil damage, causes soil to lose its water and nutrient retention capacity, makes soil susceptible to erosion, most synthetic fertilizers are poor sources of required micronutrients, causes water contamination, increases nitrate levels in the food crops(eating foods high in nitrates is linked to increased risk of cancer) etc.
@Optimusnorm Here are review studies that suggest organic can feed the world and benefits poor countries more than conventional. There are many more. srfood.org/images/stories/pdf/press_releases/20110308_agroecology-report-pr_en.pdf
@Optimusnorm Those are not just studies they are 13 review studies, which combined reviewed thousands of studies. Most studies suggest organic is healthier/has more nutrients. I challenge you to find 13 review studies that suggest organic is not more nutritious/healthier. Most review studies also say organic can feed the world and I challenge you to question this video (which doesn`t reference a single study) and read the review studies yourself.
THE HUDSON INSTITUTE GUY IS A LIAR!! Numerous studies suggest COFFEE REDUCES THE RISK OF ALMOST ALL CANCERS!!! I challenge anyone who believes this video to find studies that suggest pesticide residue reduces cancer risk 1000 times more than coffee does.
@wvoutlaw2009 I guess most people don`t realize Penn belongs to the Cato Institute which is funded by Microsoft and The Gates Foundation owns alot of Monsanto stock or that the Hudson Institute is funded by Monsanto etc. There is no studies in this video to back up its claims, they just prey on people`s ignorance. Anti-organic = Anti-science
@dblyoi Here are review studies that suggest organic is more beneficial than conventional or GM for poor countries. srfood.org/images/stories/pdf/press_releases/20110308_agroecology-report-pr_en.pdf
@dblyoi Even the desert gets some level of rain. Are you suggesting that conventional or GM crops can grow without any water? Where is the evidence? Organic has shown in multiple field trials to use less water and yield significantly more in drought conditions than conventional.
@dblyoi The animals eat the same diet(same variety of food, same amount etc.) the only difference is one group of animals eats organic and one eats conventional. There are dozens of studies done in several different animals such as rats, mice, rabbits, chickens, cows etc. The animals fed organic generally live longer, have increased fertility, less degenerative disease, less frequent infections etc. I already posted several studies that concluded this but I` ll gladly post them again for you.
@Maxnned Since when does organic=healthy? Since the majority of studies in animals comparing organic and conventional diets suggest ANIMALS FED ORGANIC DIETS, LIVE LONGER AND HAVE LESS DEGENERATIVE DISEASE THAN ANIMALS FED CONVENTIONAL DIETS!!!
@Maxnned Where are studies to back your claims? I provided studies suggesting Organic is more beneficial for poor farmers than GM crops, GM crop yields are inconsistant and can require more nutrients to grow than organic, GM crops use more land than organic, People eating Bt crops are eating high levels of pesticides and organic has little if any pesticide residue etc.
@Maxnned obviously your mind is jam packed with stereotypical hogwash to believe that everyone who is serious about healthy eating, is a hippie like the 2 idiots (probably hired actors) in this episode.
@Maxnned I didnt say "organic":was healthy. Because obviously you can eat Organic Potato Chips, Organic Ice Cream and Organic Cookies. But you assume I think that way. I'm not a hippie, just a person who is into healthy living, and I eat alot of fresh produce. And this taste test bullshit they did, is all personal preference. Also they could have been using a riper banana for the non-organic, and a still sour, hard unripe for organic.
Think for yourself, instead of having others think for you.
Actually you did. You said "obviously your mind is jam packed with stereotypical hogwash to believe that everyone who is serious about healthy eating is a hippie.."
I was referring to organic food, and you just referred to organic food as "healthy eating"
And I WILL have other think for me if they present factual evidence, as they do in the episode
@Maxnned Ok, they're not in it for the money right? TV doesn't create controversies to spark arguments between the public in order to increase ratings NOPE. Television presents 100% fact based, in depth studies that span across decades of case studies.
Horseshit
You work for Monsanto or something? Do you realize what is happening in India because of industrialized farming? Do you even care? Or are you too busy shopping online for your next 50" HDTV because your 42" doesn't satisfy you anymore?
Wow, you seem pretty mad there. Youre coming off as desperate.
Organic foods are useless when compared to GM food and you know it.
And now youre creating stereotypes for people who are for inorganic food? You think WE'RE the smug ones? Ill create one for you now. People who buy organic do it so they can tell their neighbor
"Oh, I ONLY buy ORGANIC because IM a good person who respects the ENVIRONMENT and I have a shit load of money to poop away, including my 50" HDTV."
@Maxnned "Organic" is just a fad for the new age hippies you want to group me with.
Humans have survived for THOUSANDS of years without pesticides and industrialized farming.
The same money that farmers lose due to crops being eaten by insects or whatever else these magical pesticides help with, is instead being spent on the pesticides themselves. Why? Because that money can go to a corporation. Laughing all the way to the bank, while you're in the hospital.
@Goujiki Nearly all farmers in 3rd world countries use pesticides. GMO crops are developed with "built-in" pesticides.
And humans have NOT been surviving for thousands of years without pesticides and industrialized farming... There has ALWAYS been human poverty and when there wasnt, there was no civilization.
The world population is 7 billion. GMOs can produce more food in shorter time in worse conditions. THE ENVIRONMENT DOESNT MATTER WHEN PEOPLE ARE STARVING.
@Maxnned 3rd world countries are FORCED into using them by big multinational corporations. India is FORCED into using industrialized methods, meanwhile putting 60 MILLION people out of a job and life.
And yea the world is 7billion people, but if a person ISN'T born then how will anything effect them? Overpopulation IS a problem and industrialized farming only ADDS to that problem.
And please explain to me how other animals and humans EVOLVED without pesticides? Please explain if you can.
What the hell are you talking about? Of course they evolved without pesticides and theyre going to evolve with them. Are you retarded? Pesticides wont affect evolution at all...
And what are you suggesting? Infanticide? You really cant make an argument about overpopulation, thats just retarded.
And with capitalism, there is always going to be people forced out of work, whether its organic or inorganic.
@Goujiki that is some heavy conspiracy theory. farmers in with the medical and pharmaceutical industries?!?!? would LOVE to see the pseudo research you have done. any proof? or REAL scientific evidence? or is this some shit pulled out of your (or more reasonably some other ass hole who you beleive) ass?
its funny how you post biased video's and how the ignorant are lead to believe the psychological mind twist of 2 famous millionaires (only out to gain more profit), without doing their own research. Laden with stereotypes to further confuse ie, the fake "new aged hippie family"
im 100% certain there is at LEAST 33% of the current population, consuming 2-3 times their needed intake of food, starving the other half of the world already
and im pretty sure this fat millionaire is one of them.
@Goujiki The problem with your logic is that you believe for one person to have more, others have to have less. Growing more food in the US does NOT mean that other countries somehow get less food. The reason why the other half of the world is starving is that they don't have the technology to raise as much produce as agriculturally prosperous nations. Nobody is TAKING food from anyone yet you claim 1/3 of the population is somehow starving the other 2/3.
These are the sort of guys who would promote smoking as a way of losing weight because it's more efficient than eating healthy, and while they are at it telling us not to eat organic they can just go fill up a glass full of bug spray and chemicals and have a nice drink.
Maybes they should go and tell all the families who have been damaged from a result of intensive farming procedures.
Or maybes then can take the place of a cow crippled by mad cow disease from the effects of intensive farming?
@Fight4Privacy there are developments in south florida where large numbers of people are getting cancer because there was once a farm where their houses are. the soil is full of poison.
2/2 America is also fat because we put a lot of emphasis on prescription drugs. Like, if someone have diabetes, or bronchitis, for example, they think the answer is going to the doctor and getting a prescription, when they real answer is just eating nutritious organic foods, which can not only prevent illness but reverse them as well. America is not educated enough to know this. They think drugs are always the answer and that is why we are fat.
I'm not endorsing smoking at all. Smoking should never be done under any circumstances. But, all I'm saying that is a smoker who eats healthy foods has a LESS chance of getting lung cancer than a smoker who eats a bad diet. That's basically all im saying. I'm not suggesting it's okay to smoke by any means.
America having the fattest population is precisely the point - most other countries eat healthier than we do which contributes to why they are slimmer. --->
2/2 and take 10 more people, keep them on their current diet, whatever that may be, wait 6 months, and you'll see the 10 people on the veggie diet were much healthier, slimmer, all the above.
@bleedblue83@bleedblue83 yes if u put ppl on a (good) veggie diet they will likely be healthier and slimmer, but most of them will still get lung cancer if they smoke several decades. its a bit slimmer chans they will get it, but no good doctor in the world would say that its ok to smoke just as long u eat veggies.
Well Uurk, stupid question, because that's like saying "if I exercise everyday can I still eat a whole bag of Cheeto's at night?" It would be better if you didn't eat the bag of Cheeto's, but, the exercising in addition to eating the Cheeto's is better than eating the Cheeto's without exercising.
To answer your question: In France, they smoke more cigarettes than us; yet they live longer because they consume more fruits/vegetables. SO, what we eat can reverse damage.
"if I exercise everyday can I still eat a whole bag of Cheeto's at night?"
No it isnt.. If u smoke u get lung cancer,if u eat organic u dont prevent lung cancer... if u eat fatty snacks u get fat,if u work out u loose weight, its completly diffrent.
u live shorter in the US because u have the most unhealthy diet in the world. that u smoke less then french ppl dont stop u from getting diseases from obesity.
actualy in france they dont consume that many veggies either ( i lived there for the later part of my childhood) and they dont nessarly live longer because their statistical life expactancy data are arranged diffrently then the american stats, for example they count babies which die shortly after birht as stillborn while in america if a baby is even partly functioning at birth and dies minuites later it is factored into the stats. This skews live expectancy statsof amercans down.
I'm not saying it can 'fix' your lungs but it can sure help. If someone has been smoking for decades they can HELP reverse the damage by eating nutritious foods ie green veggies, etc.
That doesn't mean if you eat veggies its going to make all your problems go away. I'm just saying it can help versus not eating them at all.
@bleedblue83 "That doesn't mean if you eat veggies its going to make all your problems go away. I'm just saying it can help versus not eating them at all."
"In France, they smoke more cigarettes than us; yet they live longer because they consume more fruits/vegetables."
You wrote that its BECAUSE they eat veggies they live longer, not that veggies can help a bit for some.
Well yea, I stand by that. Since they eat more veggies, they live longer as a whole. It doesn't mean it's going to work for every individual person. I'm not suggesting that if someone with cancer eats a piece of broccoli POOF there cancer will go away.
But, if you take 10 people, put them on an organic veggie/fruit diet,
@bleedblue83 Well then if u stand by it dont say that u never said it. and u said it can help vs not having sucha diet, in other words you then wrote that it may not help.
What do u base that its just because they eat vegetables they live longer?
if u just base it only on that they smoke more and eat more veggies ur discarding thousands of other factors! for example that america has the fatest population in the entire world!
BTW, you can obviously tell Penn doesn't eat organic food, or healthy food for that matter, because he looks like shit. He has not aged well at all. His monstrous frame is probably the product of the growth hormones in the milk he had growing up.
@bleedblue83 u know hes almost 55 years? i have been to america several times and by the standards you have over theire i wouldent say that he has a monstrous frame...
But organic milk is better. Conventional milk has hormones that have been been added in addition to the natural hormones. I don't drink milk anyway, I drink soy or rice milk.
there is very little real clinical evidance which says that supports the claim that organic milk is better, in fact i grew up on a subsistence farm and know for a fact that organic milk is much more fatty and is just as hormone rich as non organic milk.
Oh, and I dare say they don't miss the point at all. Organic farming as all about throwing away progress to cater to paranoid conspiracy theorists who piss themselves by the mere mention of buzzwords like "chemicals", "synthetic", or "Big Anything".
Just the intro, but, those "buzzwords" are a big deal - they are manually added in otherwise natural food. It is a fact that organic food is healthier, they contain no chemicals, hormones, you live longer from it, and it was nature's original food before chemicals came into play. There is no debate on whether it's healthier - it's a fact. I don't eat organics all the time, mainly bc of the cost, but it's still healthier for you.
That's the all-natural fallacy - assuming that just because something is "orginal" or "natural", it must be healthier by definition. That's a pretty extreme generalization.
Cancer is natural. Box jellyfish neurotoxin is natural. Poison oak is natural. Sexual abuse is natural. Body odour is natural. Mercury is natural. I could go on and on. Read up on organic pesticides such as rotenone. All of them are toxic.
Organic food is a product of xenophobia, a fear of "new things" we don't understand.
I will watch the whole thing (it's not on youtube) when it comes on but I don't think it will change my mind. I minored in Nutrition in college. There is a huge difference between organic and natural. Natural means shit. Organic food enthusiasts would tell you to stay away from the word natural - it does not mean organic.
Organic food isn't really a 'new thing.' Chemicals have always existed in food, it's just now America is starting to realize it and the organic breakthrough is happening.
(2) Cancer does not have to happen - the reason people get cancer in the first place is because of our diet! Organic food fights cancer, and definitely helps prevent it.
the purpose fruits and veggies grow is for humans to eat them. It has already been proven that organic food, as found directly from nature, has much more nutrients than non-organic food. Not only that, you feel more vibrant, have more energy, and so on. When man starts adding things to it, it depletes the nutrients.
(2) Sure, organic food can't mass produce like the conventional method - I understand that, However, it doesn't change the fact that it IS healthier and better for you. What's healthier, an apple directly from the tree or an apple that man injected additives in first? It's common sense.
@bleedblue83 No, it's not common sense, and additives aren't "injected" directly into an apple like Snow White. Neither apple will be more or less healthy. There are legitimate arguments against GM crops and the use of some chemicals in agriculture, but none of them have anything to do with the safety of their consumption, but rather their environmental and economic impact. Monsanto has time and again proven themselves to be giant flailing dicks, especially to farmers and their employees.
@TheHobophobic I'm just going to be frank here, when God or evolution (whatever you want to call it) created us, He provided everything in nature to be our food. It's natural state. Many centuries later, man started putting additives in the food. Now, I'm not saying eating one processed food is going to kill you, but when you do, you're messing up nature's plan. Ever hear that a cigarette takes 7 minutes off of your life? Eating processed foods takes .0000000001 seconds off of your life.
@bleedblue83 Are you intentionally ignorant to the science of nutrition? There is nothing about organic food that is "better" for you. Wait, you saw a commercial for an organic granola and on the package it said "BETTER FOR YOU!" so now you go around spouting off about it again and again? What the fuck man.

@myndy86 - And there are dozens on studies showing no difference in organic and non-organic. I am an advocate of sustainable farming and better management but I don't by into the organic con in general. If pure organic farming was used half the world would be dead from starvation - it's a nice idea and for us in the West who have no food problems a nice luxury but it simply cannot feed an ever increasing population.
@Optimusnorm "1/ organic plant products contain more dry matter and minerals (Fe, Mg); and contain more anti-oxidant micronutrients such as phenols and salicylic acid, 2/ organic animal products contain more polyunsaturated fatty acids""4/ 94–100% of organic food does not contain any pesticide residues, 5/ organic vegetables contain far less nitrates, about 50% less" agronomy-journal"dot"org/index .php?option=com_article&access =doi&doi=10.1051/agro/2009019& Itemid=129

@Optimusnorm "Organic crops contain fewer nitrates, nitrites and pesticide residues but, as a rule, more dry matter, vitamin C, phenolic compounds, essential amino acids and total sugars than conventional crops. Organic crops also contain statistically more mineral compounds and usually have better sensory and long-term storage qualities." onlinelibrary.wiley"dot"com/do i/10.1002/jsfa.3000/abstract
@Optimusnorm "Organic crops contained significantly more vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus and significantly less nitrates than conventional crops. the corporations want you to have this mindset.

GM foods pose significant risks, several of which have already occurred, such as GM contamination, herbicide resistant weeds, pesticide resistant insects, etc., which have already caused billions in economic losses.
myndy86 6 months ago

diogotomediogo 6 months ago
Why do so many humans assume they exist outside of the natural order of things? Humans have evolved by the process of natural selection, just like every other organism that has ever lived on this planet (I would cite Darwin as a reference here). Humans can only use that which the Earth gives them. Therefore we, who are simply part of the universe like everything else, cannot do anything which goes against the laws of nature.
GM is therefore natural and acceptable.

Maxnned 9 months ago
@Maxnned "Organic" is just a fad for the new age hippies you want to group me with.
Humans have survived for THOUSANDS of years without pesticides and industrialized farming.
The same money that farmers lose due to crops being eaten by insects or whatever else these magical pesticides help with, is instead being spent on the pesticides themselves. Why? Because that money can go to a corporation. Laughing all the way to the bank, while you're in the hospital.
You fail to see the big picture.
Goujiki 9 months ago
@Goujiki Nearly all farmers in 3rd world countries use pesticides. GMO crops are developed with "built-in" pesticides.
And humans have NOT been surviving for thousands of years without pesticides and industrialized farming... There has ALWAYS been human poverty and when there wasnt, there was no civilization.
The world population is 7 billion. GMOs can produce more food in shorter time in worse conditions. THE ENVIRONMENT DOESNT MATTER WHEN PEOPLE ARE STARVING.
YOU fail to see the big picture.
Maxnned 9 months ago
@Maxnned 3rd world countries are FORCED into using them by big multinational corporations. India is FORCED into using industrialized methods, meanwhile putting 60 MILLION people out of a job and life.
And yea the world is 7billion people, but if a person ISN'T born then how will anything effect them? Overpopulation IS a problem and industrialized farming only ADDS to that problem.
And please explain to me how other animals and humans EVOLVED without pesticides? Please explain if you can.
Goujiki 9 months ago
@Goujiki
What the hell are you talking about? Of course they evolved without pesticides and theyre going to evolve with them. Are you retarded? Pesticides wont affect evolution at all...
And what are you suggesting? Infanticide? You really cant make an argument about overpopulation, thats just retarded.
And with capitalism, there is always going to be people forced out of work, whether its organic or inorganic.

its funny how you post biased video's and how the ignorant are lead to believe the psychological mind twist of 2 famous millionaires (only out to gain more profit), without doing their own research. Laden with stereotypes to further confuse ie, the fake "new aged hippie family"
im 100% certain there is at LEAST 33% of the current population, consuming 2-3 times their needed intake of food, starving the other half of the world already
and im pretty sure this fat millionaire is one of them.
Goujiki 1 year ago
@Goujiki The problem with your logic is that you believe for one person to have more, others have to have less. Growing more food in the US does NOT mean that other countries somehow get less food. The reason why the other half of the world is starving is that they don't have the technology to raise as much produce as agriculturally prosperous nations. Nobody is TAKING food from anyone yet you claim 1/3 of the population is somehow starving the other 2/3.

bleedblue83 1 year ago
2/2 and take 10 more people, keep them on their current diet, whatever that may be, wait 6 months, and you'll see the 10 people on the veggie diet were much healthier, slimmer, all the above.

@bleedblue83 @bleedblue83 yes if u put ppl on a (good) veggie diet they will likely be healthier and slimmer, but most of them will still get lung cancer if they smoke several decades. its a bit slimmer chans they will get it, but no good doctor in the world would say that its ok to smoke just as long u eat veggies.

@bleedblue83 i didn write any question..
Uuuuurk 1 year ago
actualy in france they dont consume that many veggies either ( i lived there for the later part of my childhood) and they dont nessarly live longer because their statistical life expactancy data are arranged diffrently then the american stats, for example they count babies which die shortly after birht as stillborn while in america if a baby is even partly functioning at birth and dies minuites later it is factored into the stats.

You wrote that its BECAUSE they eat veggies they live longer, not that veggies can help a bit for some.
Uuuuurk 1 year ago 2
Well yea, I stand by that. Since they eat more veggies, they live longer as a whole. It doesn't mean it's going to work for every individual person. I'm not suggesting that if someone with cancer eats a piece of broccoli POOF there cancer will go away.
But, if you take 10 people, put them on an organic veggie/fruit diet,
bleedblue83 1 year ago
@bleedblue83 Well then if u stand by it dont say that u never said it. and u said it can help vs not having sucha diet, in other words you then wrote that it may not help.

if u just base it only on that they smoke more and eat more veggies ur discarding thousands of other factors! for example that america has the fatest population in the entire world!

I don't eat organics all the time, mainly bc of the cost, but it's still healthier for you.
bleedblue83 2 years ago
That's the all-natural fallacy - assuming that just because something is "orginal" or "natural", it must be healthier by definition. That's a pretty extreme generalization.
Cancer is natural. Box jellyfish neurotoxin is natural. Poison oak is natural. Sexual abuse is natural. Body odour is natural. Mercury is natural. I could go on and on. Read up on organic pesticides such as rotenone. All of them are toxic.
Organic food is a product of xenophobia, a fear of "new things" we don't understand.
MidgardEagle 2 years ago

When man starts adding things to it, it depletes the nutrients.
bleedblue83 2 years ago
(2) Sure, organic food can't mass produce like the conventional method - I understand that, However, it doesn't change the fact that it IS healthier and better for you. What's healthier, an apple directly from the tree or an apple that man injected additives in first? It's common sense.

@bobrobon can't find it on youtube.. can you?
dblyoi 9 months ago
@bleedblue83 No, it's not common sense, and additives aren't "injected" directly into an apple like Snow White. Neither apple will be more or less healthy. There are legitimate arguments against GM crops and the use of some chemicals in agriculture, but none of them have anything to do with the safety of their consumption, but rather their environmental and economic impact. Monsanto has time and again proven themselves to be giant flailing dicks, especially to farmers and their employees.
TheHobophobic 1 year ago
